Hunterdon Family Dental Care - Dr Zhu, Dr Simms & Dr Chera

Experiencia fantástica: Went in for a cleaning this time - very thorough and professional. Reception is always helpful and upbeat so it makes the trip less dreadful ( as you can tell, I really don't like going to the dentist but everyone in the office makes it actually pleasant). The dentists are great and communicate well. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Chera is really patient and nice. He took time to explain why the procedure is needed and how to clean the teeth.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff was knowledgeable, and seemed to really enjoy their job. Atmosphere was very friendly, very thorough! My 8 year old can't wait to go back.

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I have been coming to Hunterdon family Dental for over 20 years. Now that we moved to PA we still travel back for the care and kindness of the staff and doctors.

Experiencia fantástica: Best cleaning and excellent, caring dentists.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful experience at Hunterdon Family Dental Care. From the moment I arrived, everyone was friendly and welcoming. My hygienist Jennifer was very thorough, gentle, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I had a concern about a tooth on my lower right side, and she carefully checked everything to make sure my gums were healthy and there was no infection. The dentist Dr. Simms also reviewed my X-rays and took the time to reassure me that everything looked good. I truly appreciated the kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail from the entire team. I left feeling confident that I had received excellent care. I highly recommend Hunterdon Family Dental Care!

Experiencia fantástica: The doctor and the hygienist were excellent. They acted quickly on a large cavity that was right on the border of being something more serious to save the tooth (and saved me a lot of money!). I love the confidence and skill level of the doctor. The office has a great vibe!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Zhu and her staff are wonderful. Dr Zhu gives good knowledgeable advice and options. The office as a whole gives a warm family like vibe.

Experiencia fantástica: Always great. Been going to Dr. Zhu for 15 years! And would not change!

Experiencia fantástica: Very detailed oriented. Took the time to explain everything. Very positive experience.

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE: May 20th, 2026. I have a new hygienist, "Jennifer" at this excellent dental practice. This was my second cleaning and she is very skilled, and caring. My FIVE STAR opinion continues. Original Review: My dentist of 30+ years retired. I researched the dentists in the Hunterdon County area and decided to make an appointment with Hunterdon Family Dental Care. From the very beginning, this was just an OUTSTANDING experience. The office staff was professional, and knowledgeable. I was easily processed into their system, and an appointment was promptly made with Dr. Zhu. "Melissa" called to offer an earlier date, due to a cancelled appointment, and was most accommodating. Upon arrival for my appointment, I was shown the facilities, and I was most impressed with the amount of focus on patient and staff safety and cleanliness. At my appointment, I was greeted by my dental hygienist, "Adrianne", and welcomed to the practice. She thoroughly explained each step that would be taken, and gently prepared a full set of X-rays, and preformed the cleaning. She was in constant dialog about the process and encouraged me along the way. "Adrianne" is a very skilled hygienist, and carefully completed her tasks. She was just Amazing! Very gentle, and patient focused. I was well pleased with the cleaning. Dr. Zhu then reviewed and evaluated everything and made some good recommendations for my dental care. Clearly, this is a wonderful dental practice, with a talented staff, and Dr Zhu is a fantastic dentist, and a dedicated leader who cares. 5 STARS!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Zhu and her entire staff are fantastic! I tell everyone I know that they are simply the very best.

Experiencia fantástica: Competent , experienced dentists and staff,, in a pleasant professional office.

Experiencia fantástica: Great as usual !!!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Zhu was extremely flexible with scheduling and makes the whole dental experience painless. She squeezed me in to check on an issue I was having. Thank you for your help.

Experiencia fantástica: I had such a great experience at Hunterdon Family Dental Care! The entire staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful from start to finish. Jennifer, the hygienist, was especially kind and made me feel completely at ease—she took the time to thoroughly explain everything about my dental health in a way that was easy to understand. Dr. Simms was also wonderful and very professional. I really appreciated how informative and patient they both were. I’m so glad to be a new patient here and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality dental care!

Experiencia fantástica: I was extremely nervous bringing my 5‑year‑old daughter in for a filling because she’s afraid of needles, but the doctor and assistant were fantastic. From the moment we arrived, they were calm, kind, and reassuring—it felt like we’d been patients there for years. They completed the filling on her first visit using laser treatment, so there was no numbness, and she experienced no afterpain or soreness. The whole family is so happy. Thank you, Dr. Chera and staff, for the warm hospitality, excellent treatment, and friendly atmosphere. After visiting nine dentists in two years, we’re so grateful to have found Hunterdon Family Dental Care. Kaliya

Experiencia fantástica: Best dental practice ever. I never wait long. My teeth get thoroughly cleaned. All Dentists make you feel comfortable. And Melissa is on top of everything dealing with insurance and always friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: The dental hygienist is terrific!

Experiencia fantástica: As a previous dental assistant of 15+ years, and now an RN, I can say this practice exceeded my expectations. I would’ve normally commuted to my previous employer, but being a new resident of Hunterdon county, and a new mom, I wanted to avoid a long commute. Therefore, trusting a new practice was difficult for me (when I became so comfortable with my previous practice and employer for 15+years). Doctor was thorough, honest, provided great feedback, my hygienist (I cannot remember her name but she was phenomenal, I’m sorry!). Highly recommended this practice! Just do it!

Experiencia fantástica: Called with an emergency and had an appointment right away. Office staff and Dr was amazing. My whole family are patients here.

Experiencia fantástica: Have been going to Hunterdon Family Dental Care for a few years now and thoroughly pleased. Experiencia fantástica: My daughter was experiencing pain on her molar so I called for an appointment afraid that she won't be seen (new patient and on a Friday). They were GREAT and gave me one same day, she needed a filling on her molar that had a cavity and they did they procedure fast, painless and carefully. I think we found our new dentist office for the whole family.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent experience. Caring, knowledgeable dentists kind and welcoming staff. So lucky to have found this practice.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently chipped a tooth and Hunterdon Family Dental took me in so quickly and rectified the situation with ease. They didn’t over charge, which was a relief. The staff is kind and the dentists are knowledgeable and caring.

Experiencia fantástica: I am happy to return to care by Dr Zhu now that I have new insurance. When you are in the care of a independent physician like Dr Zhu, rather than a multi office corporate owned practice, one can expect a higher level of care, professional knowledge and reputation. I had returned to her for a consultation after my first visit with the big group. I was suspicious, they had told me I required several fillings. I knew my teeth were in excellent condition from years of Dr Zhu care. Dr Zhu confirmed, I had no cavities. The big group had a high turnover of young Dentists. None of the subsequent Dentists suggested I had cavities or needed fillings, that young Dentist just wanted to raise profits at my expense. Dr Zhu expertise and skill in treating TMJ is superior. I have worn the soft plastic brightening trays as night guards for over 10 years. Two of the big group dentists talked me into new guards because my previous insurance would pay for them, and each time the hard plastic, and their lower-level dentistry and listening skills ended up breaking two teeth. My appointments at the big group dental were often cancelled once a year because of unforeseen emergencies, therefore I rarely had twice a year cleaning. My smile is big and bright now that I have returned to care by a reputable and caring Dentist. ( I wrote this without the use of AI. It is from the heart, and hope it helps people find better Family dental care in Hunterdon County )

Experiencia fantástica: I had an urgent need for a broken tooth on a Saturday. I was leaving for a cruise on Sunday morning so panic was setting in. I called Hunterdon Family Dental and besides not being a patient and their schedule full for the day Dr. Zhu agreed to see me. She did not know if she would be able to “patch” it temporarily but agreed to see me. Dr. Zhu was able to do a repair and did not even need to numb it!! Experiencia fantástica: I have been very fortunate to have Dr. Zhu as my dentist for the last ten years. At first I went to see her for adult orthodontia work (invisalign). I found Dr. Zhu's dental technique was excellent. From then on, Hunterdon Family Dental Care has become the dental office for my whole family. Dr. Zhu is very kind and patient. She is a perfectionist, willing to take time to achieve a high quality job. She continues to invest in most advance equipment/instruments for dental works. During the last two years, this office was equipped with numerous air purifiers and other equipment to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. We fell safe since all are very strict on hygiene practice. Hygienists and dental assistants there have been very nice and professional. The receptionist Helen is always so cheerful and hard working. She not just does the scheduling, she also explains to us what kind of upcoming job involves and the cost associated with them. Even though this office is twenty miles away from our house, we will continue to rely on their services for the years to come.
