From the moment we arrived, every single staff member was kind, compassionate, and attentive. They took the time to not only care for my son, but to check in on me as well, which meant so much during such a stressful experience. They explained everything clearly, made us feel comfortable, and turned what I expected to be a scary day into a calm and positive experience. Their genuine care and professionalism were evident every step of the way. I am so grateful for how smoothly everything went and for the exceptional care they provided our family. Experiencia fantástica: The appointment for my kids didn’t even have to be over for me to know this is the best dental clinic for kids in Skagit county. I’ve been disappointed in the options we had, especially in Mount Vernon, but this office brought me back to believing that a dental office can do it right for kids. This office was made with kids in mind: therapy dog, small gifts for the kids after their appointment, their treatment room with videos available for them to watch, educational visuals on the wall, activities for the kids to do while they wait in the lobby AND inside their exam area. The staff are professional and are mindful on how to speak to the kids to not add to any anxiety the kids might have. The hygienists and Dr. Gomez answered all my questions without hesitation and thoroughly. I am confident they know what they are doing when it comes to my kids’ dental health. I couldn’t be more happy and relieved we found this gem of an office. Thank you guys!

Experiencia fantástica: Ive been using play house for 10 years now! Ive never had a bad experience at the Anacortes Office! Everyone is so amazing there! Today I brought in all THREE of my kids. Two of them are toddlers and I was stressed! Emily was so sweet, and stayed with us and helped us out to the car after answering all my questions and getting us all of our goodie bags! My kids love all the toys at playhouse! 10 out of 10!! I recommend to anyone who is looking for a dentist for their child to call PlayHouse! All the dental assistants are so kind & gentle when dealing with emotional kids!!

Utter lack of professionalism by dentist herself who made a comment under her breath “autistic kids” while shaking her head when my child was being seen.And mind you this is before we even got him evaluated or tested. We reported this to the office and never received any response to our experience. I wish we had listened to others and gone somewhere else

They are welcoming, friendly, helpful, and approachable from the receptionist to the assistants to the WONDERFUL Dr. Hill. I drove all the way from Bellingham and have zero regrets and will continue to do so for such wonderful and compassionate care!

Experiencia negativa: Not one to write negative reviews unless they are warranted. After my child’s experience not only today but the last 3 visits, we will never be returning. “Dr.s” lack of compassion and audacity to suggest not rewarding our child, along with many other instances and suggestions that turned us off. Makes you question if suggestions are whole hearted or only to pad pockets with insurance money… save yourself the headache and look else where for your child’s dental care.

Experiencia fantástica: Best experience my child has had with a dentist. They went above and beyond to make sure my child was comfortable. He left the dentist and said he wanted to go again....absolute win. He usually cries when he has to go to the dentist. I'm beyond pleased.

Experiencia negativa: This dentist put a huge silver crown in my daughter’s mouth without my permission then when asked to fix it they referred us out. This dentist has ZERO accountability. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Experiencia negativa: Updated: although friendly and a little warm environment. They went over a treatment plan for a crown but only used the word “crown”. Sent us an email that went to junk email and never followed up with us for approval in writing about what they would be doing. Turned out they put a metal crown on our child’s tooth rather than a white one and we never saw it until they were finished. They are refusing fault and have nothing in writing from us agreeing to a METAL crown. Called another dentist and they don’t understand why they wouldn’t have just done a filling in the first place if it didn’t require a root canal (which it didn’t). So playhouse dental essentially overcharges by way of over embellishing treatment needed to do more costly things rather than a quick treatment especially for a tooth that isn’t an adult one. Thanks, playhouse dental. Everyone should choose a more responsible clinic where they go over the treatment plan in full and in writing to know what they are signing you up for.

Stacy at the front did a wonderful job getting my son comfortable before his dental procedure. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the nurse that helped us when my son was waking up from the procedure, but she too, was wonderful. Thank you PlayHouse Dental! Great team to work with!

Experiencia fantástica: My 7 year old is severely tongue tied and struggles with his gag reflex and high anxiety about the dentist and brushing his teeth in general. We have loved Dr Hill since she was in Oak Harbor and followed her to anacortes to continue care. My son’s dental hygienist, Angie, was patient and kind and explained every step to him. She counted teeth as she brushed and came up with fun analogies about plaque and keeping teeth clean. We have been to countless dentist appointments over the years and never have I been so impressed with a hygienist and how they handled our specific needs. HIGHLY recommend to anyone who’s kiddo struggles with the dentist experience.

Experiencia positiva: I would typically give this a 5 star - because I’ve had phenomenal experiences here for the last 1.5 years….until today. The front desk ladies were amazing as per usual, love their friendly hellos! The assistant that saw us first, not so much. My son is already an anxious kid and gets that way when he gets in the chair and lays back. He was really excited to be there today but still got nervous. At first things were going great, until I said no to fluoride. Just a personal preference, but it didn’t seem good enough for her. She moved forward with using fluoride free toothpaste and at one point my son broke into tears and she kept asking what is bothering him and he kept saying the toothpaste. She then blamed it on it being fluoride free and no flavor. He didn’t say why he didn’t like the toothpaste. Then she said the only flavored toothpaste they have has fluoride in it. So I gave in because she was so adamant on finishing the cleaning when he was still visibly upset. I truly believe it’s because he gagged as he usually does (normal reflex) and it scares him because of his past medical experiences with ent and such. He had a hard time calming down and she told him that he is scaring the kids that are around and that it is not okay. That he needs to stop scaring them. Then told him that she will take him to the baby room because he’s being a baby. At that point I stepped in because 1. My son is only 4. FOUR. 2. None of the other kids around us were even bothered by it. And 3. No one will be calling him a baby for having emotions. I was ready to walk out because I was very upset, all while she kept back pedaling on why she said what she did. The doctor then came over to us and took over and my son did much better with her. She was very kind and my son loved her. She made it fun. My son even let her get a few pictures of his teeth, which he didn’t do the last time we were there. Point of this is, I would give a 5 star, for almost all friendly staff. But if you can’t understand children (especially young) have emotions and sometimes get scared, then maybe this position isn’t for you. (Coming from a former preschool teacher of 8 years)

Experiencia negativa: They are discriminative towards a certain group of children, when I asked why they were making a decision on discriminating against a certain group of children. She simply just answered. “She’s not able to answer the question right now.” It is so sad to have an office that discriminates against helpless children who need care.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter was terrified of the dentist and refused to comply and cried and begged me not to make her go. By the end of our first visit here at playhouse dental she didn’t want to leave. The staff was amazing and the care was beyond amazing!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent with the kids. We take four kids there ranging in age from 20 months to 10 years old. They are all taken well care of by the staff at Playhouse Dental from he time we walk in to the time we leave.

It made me wish I had a place like that I could have gone to as a child. I’m so happy to be able to take my little ones there now so they can grow up with a better dental experience than I did!

One of my kids tends to be pretty anxious about the dentist and she felt so at peace. The doctors were very informative and really great. We look forward to our future visits.

Experiencia fantástica: We have had such a great experience at Playhouse Dental Anacortes. Our son had somewhat of a dental emergency and they were so obliging to get us in (my son was a new patient). Upon our first visit they were so calm and reassuring in getting the problem taken care of and they clearly communicated a plan of action. We’ve been back 4 times since and each time everyone has been so helpful. My son needed several baby teeth pulled as well as a spacer put in and doctor Hill was amazing. She was so calm and encouraging and I really appreciated her approach and willingness to explain what was happening as well as discuss diet and oral care. We live 45 minutes away but it’s worth the drive to receive dental care here. :)
