Experiencia negativa: He broke my bottom jaw, left impression material in the bottom implants that caused a horrible year long infection, went too far in with top implants affecting my sinuses. ALL implants top and bottom had to be removed. I have had to have multiple surgeries to fix what he did and still may need more. This man and his staff are dangerous.

And not to any surprise to me the ladies at the office got me right in and my problem solved . Also this trip the dental assistant was new Azah and she like all his help was exceptional.

Experiencia negativa: Such a poorly run office! I've called, emailed, rejected their mailings and they just find a different name and 'current resident ' to keep sending junk mail. What a waste of money and time and instead of creating a potential client they make sure our family will use anyone BUT them if the need arises. Clearly they charge way to much if they can send these slick mailers to people who do not want them.

Experiencia negativa: They booked me for a Monday but didn't tell me appt was at Crossville, had to reschedule. No compassion whatsoever. We talked to receptionist on first call. They understood the need to go easy is what they said. I have severe PTSD Then X-rays tech says they understood to just go easy. Then they said nope not going to work on me. Refused because they didn't want to deal with my PTSD and fears. Wow. After sitting in office over 45 minutes past appt time. You just didn't want to deal with it. I'll make sure to let anyone and everyone know that u r inconsiderate, incompetent and have no compassion for someone with PTSD. We asked questions and your answers were to say u won't even deal with me. Because I wanted to have my husband with me til u put me out and then when I wake up. U stated in no uncertain terms, Not going to happen. That's how you treat a patient with legitimate PTSD. You wasted our time from the beginning and then showed no interest in trying to help someone. To add to this. My husband just called to get X-rays emailed to another dentist and they were extremely rude saying we were rude and stating he was rude when we came in. Absolutely not true. When speaking to one she also stated, u r not even the patient to my husband which when I filled out paperwork , I put him on there and she then just passed the phone over without even saying anything else. I have now called back to speak to the owner and requested a call back. I asked if they record their phone calls and they stated yes which I'm glad because we do to, which will prove that we were not rude. We are shocked at the treatment that we have received from the staff. The xray tech was good but ladies on phone were horrible to us.Now they want to charge me for my X-rays to be emailed to another dentist which was $287.00. that is absolutely bs. Hopefully the owner Dr Shanks will make this right by listening to our phone call and calling us back. U people stated over and over again that u understand and yet u made my experience of just a consult horrible and then accused us of being rude. And refusing service. Then stating u were not refusing service. Unbelievable

Experiencia fantástica: I searched and found this dentistry online and read reviews. I am pretty anxious when it comes to dental care and needed some serious work as soon as possible. I called to get an appointment without a referral of any kind.(which is out of my comfort zone)! They made me an appointment the day after my call. The place is easy to find and absolutely beautiful, and clean! Upon our arrival I was greeted with a smile and very comfortable and friendly assistance! The dental physician and employees were all so professional and comforting. After the consult, They made it possible to have my dental surgical procedure that same day and get my needs done as soon as possible. Dr. Chitwood said a sweet and powerful prayer for them and myself prior to surgery with his hand on my shoulder,. Everything was explained prior to and/or during the procedure.i have never been treated so well at any medical facility, and I have been to several in my life time. Every single person was helpful, professional, and sweet to me and my husband including Joey, Sara, and many others, too many to mention all names. There were 5 different people who wheeled me out to our SUV after my discharge including both Dr Shank and Dr Chitwood. Dr Shank even helped me in to my seat and buckled my seat belt. He then said a very sweet prayer over me! My husband and I were told multiple times to call with any questions, concerns, and/or needs. I highly recommend this Golden Oak sedation dentistry for anyone with dental needs! You will not be sorry! I give them 100/10!

Experiencia negativa: My experience with my teeth the top denture doesn’t fit and hasn’t since I got them and I have told them plenty of times and all they say is due to bone loss but I know better and they talked me into getting implants on the bottom and they suck and isn’t worth the money and I’m very upset I wish I would have never did this I should have got a second opinion

Experiencia negativa: I had high hopes to get my teeth pulled and get some dentures that were affordable, but those hopes were dashed when the cost to pull about half my teeth and get dentures exceeded $29,000. Think about that and let it sink in. Fortunately, I found affordable service at another legitimate company for around $6,000 in Nashville. With that said, the people that I did talk to were most hospitable and kind. The office facilities were first rate and clean. Unfortunately, the dentist never came and talked to me. You would think if you’re going to charge people 2.5 years of their mortgage payments or half the cost of a new 4X4 Ford pickup, you would at least have the nerve to look them in the eye when you tell them.

But I will say I am comfortable spending the necessary money for the implants. I struggle with lupus and bone loss due to the illness. So finding someone that understands and can help me fix this so I never have to wear dentures is a comfort.

DDS Shanks informed me that after everything was complete they would have me back in for a photo op (for brochure). And that a percentage of my overall cost would be reduced. I’m still waiting on that phone call. I should have known something was up when every temporary crown I had put in broke. The lab tech was constantly making new crowns for me every single time. I kept thinking how are my final set of teeth going to be? This was undoubtedly the worst financial decision I’ve ever made. The cost in and of itself made my overall experience poor. I really hate that because overall Dr. Shanks and his staff were ok. I would advise anyone having their entire mouth done to really think about the cost before having the procedure. I don’t want anyone else using their military retirement to have it all taken on a monthly basis. Word to the wise…do more homework on the overall price before dropping serious cash. I wouldn’t refer this Dentist office to anyone. I didn’t even get a “Hollywood White” smile that was promised. Total waste of money. Big disappointment.

Unfortunately, the wait in the lobby seems to be 30+ minutes past the appointment time. This has happened my last 3 visits. Also, the communication between patient and appointment staff have been nill. However, once I go back and get my procedure worked on, I feel confident that I'm one step closer to the end of my 4-6 month process.

Experiencia negativa: When I called to make my initial appointment, I was told what time. Got there a little early and waited about 30 minutes with not a single other soul in the waiting room. Was told to bring a CT scan of my jaw with me, if it was recent. I had one taken on 8/7/25 and did bring it with me. When I finally got called back, they immediately wanted to take a new CT scan. I told her that I had one taken and it was in my purse. She said that they wouldn’t be able to pull it up on their computer. She never even attempted to and told me it would be the same price anyway. Price was not the issue, it was the fact that I had several other x-rays done that same morning and didn’t want anymore taken, especially since I was specifically told to bring mine with me. I actually was quoted a different price today than I had been quoted when I made the appointment. I, initially, was looking forward to seeing the doctor that had done an implant on me many years ago, in a different office. I felt that they were forcing me to have something done without even seeing a doctor to take a look and explain anything to me. I even had other X-rays emailed to them so they could , at least, have something to look at. Obviously, none of what I attempted to expedite things, helped, at all. I worked in the dental field for almost 50 years and know that it could have been handled differently. I will not recommend the office to anyone.

It’s a beautiful office and they were very nice. It was a better experience than my first place. I appreciated their time.

What they said to my wife and myself were lame excuses. They said that they couldn't help my wife either and gave her an absurd answer as their reason for not working on her partial. They aren't professionals at all and the charges for their services are outrageous. I didn't even want to rate them one star.

No pressure to make a decision about what you want to have done. They just lay out a plan and assist in getting you help. with a payment plan if needed.
