Experiencia negativa: Showed up at 9:45 for my 10 am appointment and a millennial hygienist came in at 10:20 with attitude and and basically blamed me for his lack of respect for people’s time…at no point did he apologize for being 20+ minutes late…probably won’t go back…

We brought my mom to see him for a complicated front tooth issue that several other dentists had been unable to properly diagnose or address. Dr. Raoof is very kind, patient, and thorough. He took the time to listen, carefully evaluate the situation, and explain both the diagnosis and a clear plan moving forward. Experiencia negativa: This is, without question, the worst-run dental practice I have ever dealt with. I had my wisdom teeth removed nearly three years ago, and it took this office the entire three years to correctly process my insurance claim. I paid a substantial portion of the procedure upfront on the day of service and was told insurance would cover the remaining amount. However, the original claim was submitted with completely incorrect procedure codes, including codes for foot surgery, and no supporting medical records were included. The claim was rejected due to improper coding, but I was not informed until nearly a year later, when the office contacted me demanding payment for a balance I had been told insurance would cover. From there, fixing the issue became a nightmare. I called and emailed this practice more than 50 times, spent countless hours on the phone with both the office and my insurance company, visited in person multiple times, and repeatedly tried to escalate the issue. It took significant effort just to get in contact with the office manager, who often ignored my emails and rarely returned calls. Despite repeatedly asking to speak with someone above the office manager, I was refused every time. The office then resubmitted my claim incorrectly multiple times over the following years. Every time, I had to contact my insurance company myself to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it because the practice would not take responsibility for resolving their errors. Despite the delays being caused by the office, I was constantly threatened with collections and pressured to pay the full procedure amount. After three years of constant follow-up, the claim was finally processed correctly. The outcome? Instead of owing the $1000+ this office had repeatedly demanded, the office actually owed me a substantial refund. What makes this even more frustrating is how close this claim came to timing out. It was corrected just one month before the insurance deadline only because I continued following up with calls and emails. Had I not kept pushing the office to fix their mistakes, the claim would have expired due to their errors, leaving me responsible for a balance that was never actually owed. No patient should have to spend three years fixing an insurance claim because of a practice’s administrative mistakes while being threatened with collections over a balance that was not actually owed. You could not convince me to come anywhere near this or any related practices ever again. I would rather pull my own teeth out because it would be less of a headache.

Experiencia negativa: No rating had the worst visit ever. Waited 30 minutes to be helped even though I was early. At the start of my visit my xray technician was confused with who I was. She did not know the difference between my first and last name. She even ssked me if I was the correct patient. My xray technician was rude while taking xrays became restless because she could not find the correct angle for the xrays. She was pushing down and hurting my gums. The hygienist was inefficient. He did a poor job with my cleaning. When he applied the paste, he also swirled the instrument on my lip and said my bad. My upper lip burned for awhile and I had a red mark. After the session he said goodbye as I was trying to hand him my glasses which he told me to wear during the cleaning. No.one walked me out of the office. Very unprofessional staff. There is a high turnover of staff at this office. Patients are not valued. Looking for another office and taking my family of 6 somewhere else. Having a nice office does replace patient care.

Experiencia negativa: My orthodontist, who I think is great, but from a different location branch of this chain referred me to a periodontist at the 1st Family Dental, Burr Ridge location. I scheduled and waited over a month until they could get me in. I received a message on the Sunday (one day) before my Monday morning appointment from Aldijana, "The Specialty Manager" for 1st Family Dental. She asks me for a copy of my medical insurance card, explaining they frequently can bill medical insurance in addition to my delta dental insurance they already have on file. I think, okay, no problem and send over a photo of my BCBS medical card insurance. Because she now requested my medical insurance, I proactively ask if there could be any out of pocket co-pays I could be responsible for. My BCBS medical insurance can have an out of pocket co-pay of up to $40 for a specialist doctor. Imagine my shock when she responds back that there will be a $125 out of pocket co-pay fee, I will be responsible for, just for a periodontal CONSULTATION. This doesn't include any additional fees for any actual treatment. This isn't a co-pay. It's a rip-off. Now she did say it would be applied to any treatment plan I agreed to have done afterwards, but could not say how high and how much out-of-pocket more, I could potentially owe after the consultation. It is essentially agreeing to a credit on a blank check. I have insurance for a reason. That reason isn't to get bled dry by a practice for their exorbitant fees directly to the patient in addition to milking their insurances. This is just corporate greed. At least tell your patients you're going to stick them with a ridiculous $125 consultation fee, outside of billing two forms of their insurance, BEFORE their appointment. I'm lucky I made sure to pro-actively ask about all out-of-pocket fees before my appointment tomorrow. They did me no favors. Needless to say I will not be going to 1st Family Dental of Burr Ridge for a periodontists. It didn't help that their specialty manager, Aldijana was snarky with me in a text exchange I expressed my dissatisfaction with her, as she hearted my comments and condacendingly suggested the doctor who referred me to Burr Ridge office could refer me to someone else for free. I don't necessarily expect free. But if you have a fee for a consultation, it's your job to be transparent and disclose it to the patient. And if you have a consultation fee, at least let it be reasonable and don't improperly refer to it as a $125 "co-pay".

Experiencia negativa: I find it very unprofessional that no one on your team verified whether my insurance was accepted before scheduling my appointment. I have been waiting nearly a month for this appointment, which is scheduled for this Friday, only to be informed two days beforehand that the dentist/surgeon does not accept my insurance. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was referred to your office directly by my insurance company as an in-network provider. If there has been a recent change in network status, that should have been communicated much sooner. Being notified at the last minute and then expected to pay over $500 for a consultation, in addition to any required X-rays, is unreasonable. This situation has resulted in a significant waste of my time and has caused unnecessary frustration.

Experiencia negativa: I have never dealt with such a disorganized staff!! I make an appt for the first time & when I get there they say I dont have an appt after getting many emails from them. Also was told they would get my records from my old dentist. So I say give me someone else so I can get started. I go back in 2 days for cleaning & they say I need X-rays. I say my according to my insurance I’m not due for any right now (they never got my records from my dentist). I said I’m not paying so they said I wouldn’t have to. Then I’m told I need a new crown (tooth was not bothering me). Get the crown paid what they said I owed then receive a bill for $463 saying because the crown was under 5 yrs old my insurance wasn’t paying for it. If they had my records they would have known that!!! I’m not paying. I will find a new dental firm.

Experiencia negativa: Came in early, waited over an hour for what should have been a 15min crown tightening job, no pain meds applied when he tried to torque it down even after I said it hurts, then starts using grips to try to pull the crown off with so much force it felt like dislocating my lower jaw, only then did he apply some anesthesia, went home with pain and a loose tooth until next weekend for proper reconstruction

Experiencia negativa: This review is on behalf of my partner, as she does not have an account. She had an appointment scheduled at 12:00 PM. A nurse took X-rays and let her know the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor came in about 10 minutes later, examined her mouth for roughly two minutes, and immediately recommended wisdom tooth removal—despite this never being mentioned by previous dentists. While it’s completely reasonable to suggest treatment, the speed of the evaluation made it feel rushed and somewhat impersonal. Additionally, at every dentist I’ve been to, a cleaning is typically done after the exam. In this case, she was told they might need to move rooms for the cleaning, but then was informed they didn’t have time and that she would need to reschedule for a cleaning. So essentially, what should have been a preventive care visit covered by insurance turned into just X-rays (which were not reviewed or shown to her) and a very brief exam. 45 minutes for that. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this felt like a frustrating use of both time and money.

I believe they need to be more careful about who they hire because I’m living with the aftermath of a botched job and would never consider going back there. I must say all of the staff's spirits are so welcoming, pleasant, caring, calm and trusting. My next visit I met Dr.Abboud and his spirit was so awesome, I felt this was my confirmation that I would receive the best of care and understanding around. Facility in Burr Rudge is state of art,clean,wide open,vibrant atmosphere,background music,personnel,etc. Everything is so well organized,everyone knows his job. From first call and confirming an appointment until procedure,everything was top service. Aldijana makes extra mile to make sure doctor Aboud will be there while i was stuck in traffic.She is a beautiful and so helpful person. Doctor Aboud himself? What to say? You're not gonna find many dentist who do complimentary exam and x-ray. True professional,easy problem solver and so calm,confident approach. With him on your side you know you're in good hands. Experiencia negativa: Very judgmental facility if you walk in and don’t look the part. Asking “are you on drugs?” As soon as you walk in the door. No, there was a dental emergency and needed assistance and was in a lot of pain. Stay away! This appointment was for my husband and he came home very upset after his appointment. For the money we are having to pay for a dental extraction, I would expect better treatment.

Experiencia negativa: I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience so other families are aware before making a decision. During our visit with Dr. Murad, I quickly noticed that the focus seemed to be more on recommending additional procedures than on addressing my child’s actual needs. Several of the treatments suggested did not seem medically necessary, and when I sought a second opinion from another doctor from the same clinic, my concerns were confirmed. This made me feel that the recommendations were driven more by financial incentives than by genuine patient care. What made it worse was the way my child was treated. The appointment was stressful and unpleasant for him, and instead of showing patience and empathy, the interaction came across as rushed and dismissive. As a parent, it was extremely upsetting to watch, especially knowing that children in particular need gentle, compassionate care in a dental setting. FYI we previously had pleasant experience with other doctors in this clinic. I understand that every clinic has different providers and not everyone may operate the same way, but based on my personal experience with Dr. Murad, I cannot recommend this office. We left feeling disheartened and disappointed, and we will not be returning. I hope the clinic takes steps to put patient well-being before profit, because families deserve care that is both ethical and compassionate.

Having children of her own, providing the most slow, gentle and patient care is crucial for children compliance to treatment. This is disheartening to read since many other parents already confide great trust in Dr. Murad for their own children's dental needs.
