Experiencia negativa: Daughter had a temporary crown that lasted longer than the actual crown its self. Not even a week after it being put in fell out not to mention the work that was done was quoted to us at a reasonable amount but than later kept going up each time went into office. Customer service is horrible definitely will need to look for different place even if have to travel a ways

Experiencia negativa: I went in and told them that I have some broken teeth and if they can save it please do not to mention they took x rays and they wanted to pull every single tooth out and they wanted 1,100 upfront before the procedure and I was forced to get another opinion and walk out I won't be back I will get a second opinion I have never in my life walked out of a dentist because of things like I can probably get a second opinion and unfortunately that's what I'm going to do don't fall for anything these guys do oh and I am going to add I don't want anything from Aspen dental anymore I don't want anything to do with them I am going to stand by my decision and seek a second opinion

Experiencia negativa: Stated at second visit I had no insurance, wouldn’t call insurance company. I called had them on the phone with Aspen and they were rude. He’d the insurance company hand up and I was told this person was on there way home and would call me back in the morning, never did. I called them , or course my insurance was fine. But they wanted $600 more added on to a deep clean, that my insurance won’t cover. Called another dentist- was told the extra was not necessary.

Experiencia negativa: I had one of the worst experiences here. I went in as an emergency patient with a broken premolar and was in pain. Instead of addressing the urgent issue, the staff treated the visit like a regular cleaning check-up. They focused on talking about cleaning packages and gum treatments, which had nothing to do with why I was there. When the dentist finally saw me, I was told I should have surgery and remove the entire tooth and replace it with an artificial one, even though the tooth can be saved but he went straight to surgery mode. I had to ask for a second opinion because the recommendation felt rushed and incompetent.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing service from the check-in to the procedure. I went in with horrible tooth pain and they did a full work up - they not only focused on the pain but my whole mouth. Very thorough with checking everything out and was able to get my extraction the same day! Aside from the usual pain with the extraction my initial pain from my fractured tooth was subdued. They were informative and transparent on cost. Will be back for routine check-ups!

I had an employee offer me a blanket if I was cold, never had that happen! The doctor was very caring as well as the guy who did my X-rays. Definitely love this place and the atmosphere

Experiencia negativa: Honestly was super disappointed. The dentist I saw told me it was above his scale to remove my teeth. Drove over an hour just to be told they won’t be doing anything. Explained it was causing me troubles with eating and sleeping. But because of being pregnant they couldn’t help me just refer me to an oral surgeon.

Man do they do a lot of X-Rays and were real thorough and real detailed and explained things so I could understand and asked if I had any questions. Checking out with Brea was great. She gave me a detailed bill broken down and explained everything clearly. Staff was very friendly. I’m definitely going back and will refer my friend there.

Experiencia negativa: Scheduled an appointment, set up financing. The day before my appointment I get a phone call to bring another $783 to my appointment because she forgot to charge me another fee. I canceled my appointment and now they owe me over $3000 in refund but won’t send me my money! They are holding my money hostage!!! It’s been 7 weeks. I have called to inquire about said refund and nobody answers the phone or returns my phone calls!

Experiencia fantástica: I had an appointment for a VA dental bid for complete teeth extraction and dentures through the Iowa Veteran's Trust Fund. I am very dental phobic, but the staff was very nice, polite, and gave me a complete exam with x-rays. I was treated very well and when it was all done, I was given the required paperwork to submit to the VA. Very friendly staff and I highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I am an OTR truck driver, my appointment for today at 11 am was just canceled. No Saturday hours,no dentist in the office Tuesday. I leave Wednesday 4 am. I will not be home again until end ofJuly. I have been on hold for 20min to see what can be done. This is unacceptable.

Experiencia negativa: My girlfriend has had awful tooth pain, tried scheduling, got the runaround with Aspen repeatedly cancelling her appointments just before she needed to be there. When she finally didn’t get the runaround for an appointment time, she showed up. And she was turned away and told she needed to reschedule. Some of my family has also been here, and not only has the scheduling experience been awful, but Aspen is shady with billing as well. Always trying to force extra on you, or sneak things into your bill that you’ll have to fight to get taken off. I’m not sure what the issue is, but you should NEVER go here under any circumstance. You’d have better luck anywhere else but here.

Experiencia negativa: My initial appt was made via the call center. Not even ten minutes later the appt was canceled. I tried calling the location directly and the message kept cycling through recordings, then someone would pick up, then hang up and that would start all over again. I phoned the call center again and they made me another appt for the same time early the next week. I phoned the location again the following day and was told they don't do 4pm visits for new patients. They made an appt for me on a Saturday morning when I explicitly explained my needs for the visit. I have been living a nightmare with a back molar for over a year. I was VERY specific when I made the appt about the history and that I needed to see if a root canal could be retreated. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very nice and the hygienist took me for Xrays. I was told to remove my earrings and I mentioned had i known that, i would have done that prior. She stated there are signs, in a bit snippy attitude. One would think the receptionist would say something. I also have a diath piercing that doesn't get removed and she said she'd have to check with the dentist. She returned and took the Xrays then led me to an exam room. We again discussed the reason for my visit and she stated their dentist didn't deal with root canals. WHAT?? How is that possible that the employees don't know what services are performed in their office?? She went and got the dentist and he cooly stated the same. He gave me roughly a minute to talk, then basically said I can't help you, thank you, and walked out. I was also told the cost of Xrays was fully covered and would not be sent to my insurance. I was deliberately misled and treated like an idiot. I have heard plenty about this Aspen Dental and none had been good. I guess I should have listened even if this was my only option, with whom i was led to believe did root canals, since my company switched insurance and I would NOT return!!

Experiencia negativa: I have had 2 appointments at this location. One appointment was a cleaning and the service was pleasant and everyone was very nice. I was in need of a night guard and had an appointment scheduled which was cancelled and rescheduled 3 times. Once at my night guard fitting appointment, the technician performing the fitting was training another technician. I have no issues with the training but at least talk to me and make me feel like a patient instead of a doll that can't hear. I had another cleaning scheduled for 6 months out. When it came close, they cancelled and asked to reschedule. I called to reschedule, and no one called me back. This was all during office hours. I am very disappointed and will being taking my business elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: Had a bone graft done on two teeth. One of them got infected because the doctor failed to prescribe me antibiotics beforehand. Called the emergency number four times over the course of 3 days not once did anybody on-call contact me. Stitches ended up ripping through my gum tissue and became a infected mess. Had to take myself to the emergency to get the care I needed. The antibiotics they prescribed could have been called in by the on-call doctor. Then on Monday I went to get help and they informed me the doctor was out on Mondays. I asked if there was another doctor on call and they said, "no there isn't and you'll have to wait until tomorrow." Be careful going to this place as they don't do their due diligence to properly facilitate quality care!

They treated me great, I enjoyed all the people that worked with me, they were so helpful to help me understand and understood my needs and concerns physically and financially. I will be going back for a program to help me get my mouth and teeth healthy again. I can't wait.

No antiseptic/ground up tooth smell usually associated with a dentist's office. Next they were ALL so friendly! They explained every step along the way and presented options. I'm so impressed! I would recommend Aspen Dental in Fort Dodge to anyone. And I won't be quite so hesitant next time I have to go.

Pharmacy is calling and asking me if I know how to get ahold of a voice because there is an issue with the prescription. No one answers. This could very well be the deal breaker

Hygiene appointments and fixing 2 crowns was going to cost me $8000. WITH Insurance SMH. Safe to say I walked out with 0 dental work done.

Experiencia negativa: Cancelled by appointment three times in a row - which was already very annoying the first time. I specifically stated that I did not want to be cancelled again because it just keeps on getting pushed, which disrupts my schedule and routine. Further, they will ask you to give them a call to reschedule, but their automated answering system is broken. It has been so for the past 2 years at least. Will always redirect you to a voicemail that probably does not even work anymore. One of their dentists will see multiple patients at once. A 30min-1hr session will get extended to at least 2 or 3 hours because he will make you wait for so long while attending to other patients. I should have listed to my friends and co-workers (both in town and neighboring towns, all the way to Mason City & Clear Lake) who non-stop kept on telling me not to have Aspen as my choice of dentist due to poor services.

I called the office within 5minutes of the text being sent, left a voicemail to reschedule. No one returned my call. The day following I called again to reschedule and was sent to voicemail. Left a message and didn’t get a response.

Experiencia negativa: I have been having tooth pain off and on for awhile now. I have gone to aspen dental twice now for help with the pain. I know I need my teeth removed because of how bad they are but I can't afford 20,000 dollars out of pocket to get it done. To make matters worse they said it has to be paid all up front to even do the surgery. They don't really listen when you tell them where the problem is that you are having. I still haven't gotten my teeth done because of the experience I had there. But I will never go back to aspen if I can help it. The location in fort dodge makes it seem they are just in it for the money instead of helping the patients. I even asked for a payment plan and they said they couldn't do it they had to have the money up front before they can even schedule the surgery to get my teeth removed.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible scheduling system. Allowed me to sign up for initial time but then local office canceled due to lack of hygienists that day. Didn't reschedule at the time but did later in the day. Once I reached new appointment date and arrived at office they claimed to have reached out and not gotten a response. That was ONLY for the original time they had not "reached out" for the rescheduled time via either call or email. Indeed the only email I had was the "Your appointment is now scheduled" one. Wasted trip to town due to error either on Aspen's part or the local office.

Experiencia negativa: So beyond slow. I waited for 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before being called back. Then they tried telling me I needed all these X-rays and this and that. I asked them quite frankly how it would even be remotely possible for that appointment to take roughly 1.5-2hrs WHEN I HAVE NO TEETH!!!!! I simply wanted to know what denture options are available and how much they cost. Not so hard right? Yeah well nope I was completely wrong…. They sent me a quote all right……. A quote with ONE option and it was the most expensive option I would be eligible for. So I called the next day and said nope there needs to be a cheaper option because I don’t just have 10k just laying around

Experiencia negativa: They're act friendly but offer low level care, mediocre treatment, poor communication, and overall bad service. They have no idea what they are doing. Scheduling an appointment is difficult since they change the time and dates without warning. I had a cleaning done there and was told a fluoride treatment was going to be done too. It never was. I was persuaded to start Motto invisible aligners. I was never told they were going to file down my teeth until they started grinding away. Also, i was told multiple times by multiple people that a second round of treatment with motto was included at no extra cost. When i asked for a second round of treatment, they told me no one in the office was qualified in motto. I was made to wear a tray of aligners for about a month until they " get something figured out". By that time they were broken/falling apart. This team is not proactive at all. As i grew impatient, I kept asking for updates on when i could start my second round of treatment. They then decided to put me in retainers instead of continuing treatment. The retainers they gave me did not fit, and kept falling out, and even though i told them the moment i put them in, they made me use them anyway. Eventually they fell out and got stepped on, so i had to go back for another set, again delaying my second round of treatment. During this time i had asked multiple times for a copy of the contract i had signed for the Motto treatment. They have yet to give it to me and its been over a year since i my first set of trays. Currently, i have no retainers and Aspen dental is trying to charge me $1000 for a new set, and are refusing me a second round of treatment unless i pay. They are also refusing to remove the dental compounding on my teeth, needed for the aligner, which makes it difficult to find care at any other dental office. My teeth are back to being crooked and are in pain. They also never answer ther phone during their posted office hours, and say they'll get back to you but don't. Very shady place.

Experiencia negativa: Aspen took over $3,000 off my credit card, I paid my bill of $192 in full, now for : weeks I’ve been getting the run around, still have a charge over $3,000 that they never should of put on the card. Don’t give them any credit information!!!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm traveling from out west home to NC. My tooth began hurting 3 weeks ago and I thought I could tough it out. Well it got to the point that I couldn't. Aspen dental fit me in for an emergency visit. The dental hygienist, the receptionist, the dentist and in fact everybody in the office was phenomenal. When I got there I locked my keys in my car and they were trying to open it for me. They let me wait in the office for the AAA person during their lunch break. The hygienist was very gentle. The dentist was probably the most gentle dentist I've ever had. They filed my insurance for me. And I got two prescriptions to take care of the tooth until I can get home in 2 weeks. The dental hygienist was very gentle taking my x-rays.

Experiencia negativa: First two people who helped me were great. Who ever my dental technician was had a rude and judgemental attitude for a "judgement free zone." They have no proper doors for the rooms so everybody is pretty much just able to stare at you during your procedure. Will not be returning ever.

Experiencia negativa: Got my teeth pulled almost 4 years ago, never got my permanent denture. Although it is paid for in full, I have not received it or any contact about getting it. I am currently still using my immediate denture, which is cracked and broken.....

Experiencia negativa: Went there to get a tooth pulled, they were more concerned with writing up a care plan to fix everything wrong with my teeth then pulling the tooth that needed pulled. It's borderline malpractice to not treat the chief complaint that the person is there for. I drove 45 mins to another dentist that got me in right away and pulled the tooth that needed pulled. I will never go to Aspen again. They were more concerned with writing a huge bill up then just pulling my tooth. Clearly they are more concerned with getting as much money as they can then actually helping people.
