Experiencia negativa: I came to this dental office in Norman because they had a great rating on Google. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t 5 five star worthy. I came in because I had gum pain and swelling around my top right canine and knew that I needed a deep cleaning in the area. I also wanted to get this cleaning done prior to a scheduled gum surgery I’m having in less than a month. They noticed the swelling but only put some temporary type of bonding to ease the sensitivity of the recessed area of the tooth. And that’s all they did my first visit. I asked when I’d be able to get a deep cleaning and they insisted on charging me for a standard exam first.. which I had done with the OU college of dentistry only weeks ago. Now, I understand they have a standard of doing things and that’s fine… but I feel like the swelling wasn’t considered at all, given the amount of pain it is causing (I’m still in discomfort). The dental assistants, all women, were very nice and welcoming (Sharmin was very sweet and kind). The dentist, however, was not so warm and kind. I was going into detail about my recession, and as I was pointing out more problem areas, he said, “well, you have quite a bit of recession, don’t you?” In a judgmental tone I didn’t appreciate. Unfortunately, one of the more common problems I’ve had with dentists is their lack of sensitivity and sympathy for individuals struggling with oral health issues. Unfortunately, many of us were not taught how to properly care for our teeth, nor did our parents recognize the importance of a healthy mouth at all. My family has also struggled financially all of our lives, so regular doctors and dentist visits weren’t common in my household. I really wish dentists had more sympathy for their patients, especially given how insecure a lot of us feel about our smile. It doesn’t make me feel comfortable to be lying back in a chair with a dentist who could care less about my story or the pain I have gone through in regards to my oral health and the mental anguish I’ve gone through as well because of it. His name is Dr. Spurgeon. They also charge an exorbitant no-show fee if you forget to cancel your appt w/ less than 48 hours notice… $150! Also, they sent me a text message, saying I owed a balance of $73… never said what for. I asked and never got a reply. I have messages attached and my appt to prove myself a patient of theirs.

I have been seeing my dental hygienist, Stacey, for many years and she always does an outstanding job of cleaning my teeth and making me aware of potential problems. Dr. Leemaster has done a beautiful job with my bonding, and has managed to save two teeth that I thought were beyond repair. I could not recommend them more highly.

Devon was so patient and gentle, took xrays, really helped me relax with conversation. Then the dentist came in. He too was so gentle, calming. Discovered my tooth was cracked down the middle. I had them pull it...in the same visit! I was so grateful they made time. Quick and painless. What a blessing. Tonight, its throbbing but the pain meds are helping. The offices were super clean and modern and the dentist was so reassuring and very good. I immediately booked regular appointments here for my family and recommend it to anyone.

I came to Espire looking for a second opinion on some dental work I had received in August from a previous dentist who couldn’t seem to fix the issue. Dr. Leemaster truly went above and beyond, in my opinion. I have never been so impressed with a dentist and their team. He explained what needed to be done and why throughout the entire procedure which really put me at ease. I’m am so happy to say I’m no longer experiencing any issues and I’m so grateful!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a patient at this practice since around 2016 and have always kept up religiously with my cleanings four times a year. For years, the care was great, but since the management changed, the quality of service and professionalism have gone downhill. Over the past year or so, I’ve had multiple billing issues — being told I had a large credit and didn’t owe anything, only to get a bill the next month, then another bill for the same amount even after calling to clear it up. The latest issue was the final straw. I had a cleaning scheduled for 4:00 PM today that I booked months in advance and we even made notes about updating my chart for an exam I needed, and I scheduled time off work to go to it. At 2:06 PM, while I was in a work meeting, I got a text asking me to confirm my appointment because someone else wanted to schedule a cleaning in my time spot. A whole 14 minutes later, they left me a voicemail canceling my appointment and gave it to someone else — no call, no warning, no communication about a new confirmation policy, not even enough time to look at my phone. I’ve never been required to confirm appointments in all my years there and it's never been an issue before (literally, I've confirmed one appt via text out of 4x 10 years. I've never missed an appt, so no idea where this assumption came from). When I called to ask about it, the manager was dismissive and acted like it was completely acceptable and normal to suddenly cancel appts just an hour or two before and not allowing time for a return call. Despite only having the one message about wanting to schedule someone else at my time, they claimed the automated reminder text was an attempt to reach out even though they only actually reached out in an attempt to cancel me. People have jobs and obligations. Canceling a long-standing appointment with less than two hour’s notice just because someone else wanted it and only allowing 14 mins for them to reply is terrible customer service. It shows a complete lack of consideration and respect for patients’ time. Their billing dept even took longer than that to return a call. Even a few of the hygienists have vented to me about things and how their policies have gotten worse under current management, which says a lot. I really love several of the hygienists and have been loyal to this beautiful office for years, but the management’s choices, lack of accountability, and disregard for patient care have made it impossible to recommend this place anymore. If I'd been shown any compassion, remorse, empathy, or they even cared enough to offer to reschedule, this may have ended differently. But hey, if you want a cleaning today, they may be willing to bump another patient for you, but also don't count on keeping it.

Experiencia fantástica: I always have a great experience here at Espire in Norman, they listen to your concerns and make sound recommendations in the proper treatment of your concerns. Dr Spurgeon was able to spot a bite issue I’ve always had but was never brought up to me in the past. The issue was damaging the enamel on my teeth causing them to wear down prematurely. Dr Spurgeon and his team gave me a plan to correct the alignment of my teeth, and has helped prevent further damage to my teeth. I would highly recommend this Dentist!

Experiencia fantástica: So I am someone who will criticize anything if it feels off or not in general usually I do NOT have good experiences with dentist but the second I walked in this company from receptionist to the dentist were incredible! I got the 2 names of the people that I just adored but it was raining and ruined my paper but I will be calling tomorrow to get the names the girl who numbed my jaw kassi I believe was super sweet and quick! But the other lady was who was my favorite she had mama vibes and stayed by my side when she knew I was nervous! She explained everything step by step clearly. She could tell I was nervous and kept walking me through breathing while getting the shot. Once kassi did my shot I didn’t even know she was done because I literally didn’t feel any injection. When I tell you I won’t go to the dentist I mean it but coming here was the best google search I have made and decided to try them. If you don’t have good times at a dentist trust me and give them a shot! Every single person in that building is so sweet but the 3 that I had on my time I feel were experts! Side note the dentist is quick and any concerns you have he will explain anything. Also this place explains every option to you and tries to help you get the lowest price. And gives you options. UPDATE her name is Sharmin if you want someone who cares like a mama she’s who you need on your team!!!!

Due to a prior negative experience, I have a mild case of anxiety associated with going to the dentist. This team, however, instantly puts my mind at ease with their excellent patient experience, their tenured expertise, and tons of TLC. I have a deep appreciation for masters at their craft (in general) and this team is truly second to none in dentistry and in delivering elite patient care. Specifically, I had my teeth cleaned by a Hygienist named Stacy who was phenomenal. She was so warm, kind, thorough, understanding, accommodating, gentle, and compassionate. She was super attentive in making sure I was comfortable in every way. I can't remember ever receiving such great care. My nerves completely dissipated and I actually enjoyed my time with Stacy and the team. From the Practice Manager, Cathy, to Dr. Leemaster and Dr. Spurgeon to everyone else, this team is full of seasoned professionals who are, first and foremost, passionate about taking the best care of their patients. They instantly instill a sense of confidence that I am in the absolute best care. In spite of my nerves, I am actually looking forward to my next cleaning. Great experience and wonderful staff. My doctor gave me a lot of wonderful ideas and options. Long journey ahead and happy I found them. Made me comfortable and at ease. Totally recommend and will refer. Only thing is even though you have insurance they make you pay insurance portions along with patient portion which is costly.

Experiencia negativa: This review is way overdue about my horrible experience with this office! The service here has since scarred me for the rest of my life. Dr. Williams cemented my mouth closed for a long period of time and he had to call in ALL the doctors in the office to try to get my mouth unstuck!! It was so HORRENDOUS!! I was in for a set of dentures and not only was I treated horribly this way but I was screwed out of $20,000!! That’s right!! My insurance paid for most of it but I had to pay the rest on credit for this horrible service!! BUT I had over paid $5000 and this office was going to KEEP MY CREDIT……MY MONEY!! Which is UNETHICAL!! My money that was due back to me! They told me they were going to keep it for future services!! Can you believe it?!! What future services?!! I had no frickin teeth left!! Give me a break!! I was so young and naive then but I wished I would have sued this office especially Dr. Williams!! Their practices are not only so unprofessional but administrative wise is by far severely the worst services ever!! This is the worst dentist office in this state!! Do NOT GO HERE’.

Experiencia fantástica: While on a recent trip from Seattle to Norman OK I experienced a dental emergency. My tooth needing a root canal became inflamed and I couldn’t think straight because of the severe pain. After a call to the office I was able to get into see Dr Leemaster in ten minutes. He tried his best to get me into an endodontist but because I had limited days in Oklahoma before my return to Seattle I wasn’t able to get in with the endodontist. I was dropped off at the office and Missy was so kind to give me a ride to the pharmacy where the medication Dr. Leemaster prescribed was being filled. MaRanda was the hygienist and she was very sensitive and compassionate toward me with my pain and she even sent me a sweet handwritten note which I received after returning to Seattle. Because of MaRanda, Missy and Dr Leemaster I plan to establish their office as my primary dentist when I’m OK. Dr Leemaster is the best and I highly recommend Espire dental.

He will make recommendations solely for your oral health and he won’t nickle and dime you with unnecessary procedures. He is patient and will answer your questions/concerns in layman terms. Experiencia fantástica: I've had anxiety about the dentist my whole life and this is the first time I've ever felt completely at ease at the dentist. Everyone has always been very welcoming and genuinely friendly every time I'm there. Nobody has ever made me feel the least bit self conscious about my teeth, or like I'm being judged, and I've had a lot of issues with them in my life. I moved to Edmond a couple of years ago and still drive to Norman any time I need dental work done. Even if you don't need sedation, (I highly recommend it even if you don't need it, it makes the whole experience so much better) the staff at Espire in Norman is more than enough reason to chose them for your dental work. I cannot recommend them more.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place for kids! I had an emergency appointment with my 4 year old and the team was phenomenal. Front desk receptionist even played with her and provided coloring materials while I filled out paperwork. I was continuously impressed by the hygienist who got an X-ray and provided toys while the doctor and I spoke. It was a team effort to take great care of us and we greatly appreciate it!

Experiencia negativa: The dental work I received was phenomenal. HOWEVER, they will screw you over when it comes to insurance. A good couple of months ago I called around dentist offices because I had a filling fall out, and this one said they take my insurance and could get me in the quickest. So I go in and they tell me what needs to be done, show me my estimate and we schedule for my next appointment. At the next appointment, I pointed out that my estimate was not adding up to what my insurance covers. One of the dental assistants tried to explain to me that sometimes insurance will have those fine print details about how the patient portion percentage is only a percentage of the allowable amount. That seemed fair, but still felt out of place. I guess she was so convincing with that information that I felt like the procedure would cost that amount no matter where I went. What she didn't mention was that their office was NOT in-network with my insurance. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but when you ask if your insurance is accepted at that facility and they say yes, then that should mean they are in-network with that insurance company. Obviously you can go anywhere with whatever dental insurance, but the difference comes into play when that facility is in-network or non-network. After receiving my EOB and noticing how much more I would have saved if I had my procedure done at an in-network office, then I would have gone elsewhere. I literally would have saved over $1,000 if it weren't for them flat out lying to me when asking if they accept my insurance. I guess lesson learned. You must specify your question by asking if they are in-network with your insurance instead of asking if they accept it. Such a shame because they were super nice and the work that was done was amazing..... will not be back though. After calling and discussing with them about the situation, at first they still didn't make sense with the portion I would most likely owe. They told me I would only owe about $150 after insurance paid their part, but my EOB says over $1,000. After pointing out that that $150 amount is after I had already paid over $1,000 using my care credit card, I think they finally got the point I was trying to make. Said they couldn't do anything about it and that it's not their obligation to inform me whether my insurance is in or out of network. So with that, I most definitely will not be back. Thanks for nothing and your snarky attitude towards the end of our call.

I’ve had pretty much anything and everything you can get done here (e.g., Invisalign, implants, root canal, cleanings, etc.) and everything has gone perfectly. Dr. Spurgeon and his staff are all so wonderful and nice. I’ve never had an issue getting an appointment either!

Experiencia negativa: This place did my entire upper teeth with composite fillings. 5 of my fillings have fallen out. Not to mention how money hungry they are. They don’t care about your teeth. They care about they money. There are so many other wonderful dentists in Norman. DO NOT GO HERE.

Experiencia negativa: Wow.. what can I say .. this place completely screwed my teeth up. Had multiple fillings done. Came up with a treatment plan for others. Then when my insurance was maxed out.. treatment plan changed and I needed crowns! 1500 dollars a pop! I went for a second opinion and there was no way I needed crowns! And one tooth that had "severe cavity" had no cavity at all!!!!! And to top it off i have to get 3 fillings redone because they screwed them up soo bad. I have pain every time i eat. I cant floss between the teeth now. I told them during 2 appointments the problem and they said o thats just the way it is.... wrong.... the other dentist is going to fix them! I am in shock! Go somewhere else...im half way tempted to file a complaint.

Experiencia fantástica: My first experience at Espire Dental was great! I was referred by my husband who has been a patient of Espire for many years and has a beautiful smile. Although I am not a fan of dentist because of childhood trauma this place gave me a peace and relaxion as soon as i walked in. In the exam room next to the exam chair, was a small board that read "Welcome" with my name on it!! That was special to me! Charmin and (intern) x-ray tech "Jay" are extremely professional, with a very welcoming and sweet personality. Dr. Spurgeon was also very professional, respectful and kind. He explained every procedure as he was performing the services, this made me feel comfortable and relax as well. I am looking forward to continuing to get my dental services with Espire! I've been coming here for over 15 years, and they've continued to exceed my expectations. Devin (not sure of her spelling) & Miranda are absolutely amazing and make me feel so comfortable. They treat you like a "person" rather than just a number/patient. And Dr. Leemaster... Absolutely WONDERFUL! I love him! Every time I come here, I truly feel like I am visiting "friends" and highly recommend them to anyone. ♥️

Experiencia fantástica: This place in Norman Oklahoma is a clean, well-lighted place with good folks making your visit a solid experience. Doc Spurgeon is affable, likable, and really knowledgeable. I liked him. And MaRanda is just as noble a spirit as you can find. Stephanie at reception was clear-voiced and easy on the eyes but made things easy on check-in. I wish this place had been around when I was growing up. They really are proactive in dental care.

Experiencia fantástica: I am probably one of the biggest drama queens when it comes to the dentist. I was so anxious that I was sweating like I just ran a race. Let me just say Miranda is awesome! She made me feel like I was just where I needed to be. Dr leemaster was great! I wanted to climb that chair & jump out of the window & run away when I first got there but I left there knowing I will absolutely return in the future for the rest of my dental needs & that has never happened.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been using Smile Solutions as our dentist for the past 6 since we moved to Norman. They are great. Friendly, gental, knowledgeable, caring. They are very accommodating with my wife dental anxiety. We look forward to seeing Dr. Leemaster and our hygenist Michelle. We use to look for reasons to avoid going to the dentist for our checkups, but not anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: This is easily the best dentist in the area. If you want amazing dental service and a gorgeous environment this is your place. Everyone is very friendly and the customer service is top notch. They send you home with a swag bag full of dental goodies too. Great place. Dr. Leemaster is very good at explaining what the entire process is and is a professional. Devinn does a great job communicating and is amazingly friendly. Kaylee will get your teeth cleaner than a Wrasse inside a Rorquals mouth. You guys are the best :).

Experiencia negativa: I was not pleased with how this office handled my dental insurance. I asked if they took our insurance plan and gave them our policy information. They assured me they did and that they had many patients with that insurance. We went to our cleanings for 2 children and an adult dentist check up. Everyone was professional and kind. We were told we did not owe anything during the visit, but as we were leaving I was presented with a $350 bill. I understand that insurance is complicated, however, if you can estimate that I owe that much as I leave, you can estimate that before I arrive. This is a dishonest business practice. They said my insurance covered 45%. We have good insurance, but apparently this is a "premier" dental office. I now know how to ask better questions and contact my insurance company directly. This was a learning experience, which is generally not what I am looking for in a dentist.
