There is another practice with a virtually identical name, right across Two Notch, and that's where I thought I was scheduled. When I showed up there, they had no record of my appointment. I finally figured out my mistake, I showed up here, where I was supposed to be in the first place, and was treated very well. They did a good job.

The staff from the front desk to the nurses and dental aids were all so kind, helpful and professional. Will be using them as a new Dentist I hope! I had to go to them due to emergency situations and my normal Dentist being closed. Boy am I grateful I did cause they were amazing! My focus, is what is the quality of the dental work being done, and how much pain and suffering am I going to have to endure? As basically, I am a total coward. Not only is Dr. Walker absolutely excellent at what he does, but his main concern is my anxiety level. Recently, he performed a very difficult procedure, that was pain free and also it did not take forever I would recommend him to anyone that expects quality work with a minimum Of frustration. I was a bit nervous continuing my care with this practice after Dr. Johnson retired but Dr. Walker has been a pleasure to work with. I have been dealing with a sensitive tooth and he wasn’t quick to jump to a root canal but offered some conservative approaches! Dr. Walker is very professional, has great manners, and genuinely wants what’s best for his patients. Plus, his staff made sure that I was able to be seen right away on three different occasions for that sensitive tooth. Additionally, this practice has state of the art equipment which allows the practice to efficiently serve their patients with one visit vs. multiple. It’s so nice to leave with your crown permanently set with one appointment. I highly recommend this dental facility!

They took me back and did X-rays and asked what was my concern, and sat and listened to everything I had to say. So they kept asking me how was I feeling and I was like my anxiety is gone because they were so knowledgeable and calming me as we talked.My dentist came in and gave me a plan of treatment and asked me if I wanted to start today. I’m not going to lie but I was kind of nervous but I agreed… all the worrying for nothing..lol. Didn’t feel a thing, highly recommend!

They had very good things to say about Doctor Walker and when he came into the room he introduce himself. I had a good vibe about him. He listen to me when I struggle to explain my problem and understood of I what I was trying to say. And he explain what was going on and what needed to be done. Later that day he called to check on me even those I miss the call and I felt that was a good sign that he's alright with me.

Experiencia negativa: I was a new patient and scheduled an appointment 4 months in advanced for a visit in late February. Received a message two days prior to my appointment that it has to be rescheduled and the soonest visit isn’t for another 2 months. This was a very frustrating experience after I had already called multiple times throughout this time to verify the online appointment. Found a different dentist instead.

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Johnson has retired and I am not sure at this time whether I will stay or not. When I make my routine cleaning appointment I am making it To see a particular Hygienist (the dentist just Comes in to check for anything that could be wrong) but this is the second time I was scheduled for my hygienist and saw someone else. Since these appointments are made way in advance there is no reason why I could not be called when my hygienist isn’t going to be there on my appointment day giving me the option of changing the appointment or going ahead and using another hygienist. I know when the last appointment was made it was made with My hygienist but again things changed and I wasn’t made aware of it. Also the new dentist is nice but I won’t probably see him again because someone else is actually taking the practice over so I have no idea who it is. My insurance pays half of what I am supposed to be charged for yet it was more like 3/4 me and 1/4 insurance and I know it was an estimate but when Dr. Joel was there the estimate always was extremely close to the price. So I am not aware of what this corporation dental office is going to be doing but it seems like what has been happening in the medical field that’s been taken over by corporate companies! Costs go way up! So I will wait till I hear from my insurance. I love my hygienist and the front office people but I’m not going to pay way more than I have to pay. So I can’t recommend or not recommend at This transition time. It’s a wait and see and research other possibilities.

Each time that I am in SC I make an appointment to have my teeth cleaned (great job Brittany!) and to have my teeth evaluated by Dr. Johnson. In the last four years I have been to the office three times. What a relief to have found a dentist that I can trust! Dr. Johnson is an experienced dentist offering comprehensive dental care with a kind, reassuring “bedside” manner. He looks to deal with potential issues proactively but without the forced pressure of other doctors. At my last appointment Dr. Johnson and I discussed the need of a crown on one of my teeth, unfortunately I had to leave SC the next day and was unable to do it at that time. I’m currently in VA and am seriously considering driving the six hours to have the procedure done by Dr. Johnson. If I don’t do it now I definitely plan to do it next fall when I return to Columbia. If Dr. Johnson inspires that kind of confidence and loyalty in me I can only imagine the kind of loyalty that he inspires in his regular patients. Dr. Johnson is a true asset to the community and I look forward to our continued relationship as I transition to SC full-time.

I was extremely impressed with the knowledge of the dental assistant, Britney, and how thorough she was with her work. At the conclusion of the cleaning, Dr. Johnson came in and had a 30 minute sit down with me going over x-rays and recommendations for future care. I can’t believe the amount of time he spent explaining things and how thorough my first visit was. If I could give more than five stars I would. This is an amazing office. This is a follow up to my first review which is made about a year and a half or so ago, maybe two years, I don’t recall. Today is October 17, 2023. There’s nothing that I can add to my above statement except that the first statement said about everything there is. Truly a remarkable office and staff.

They have surpassed the basic Covid requirements adding a special exhaust fan in ea room, masks and shields, temp checks before even entering the bldg, plexiglass dividers at reception area, hand sanitizer and so much more. I now live near Knoxville Tenn and drive four hours back just to have the trusted care from a man that does magic with pain. I have Never felt a single shot. Experiencia fantástica: My Daughter has been using Dr Joe for years and i needed a change for me. Just had my teeth cleaned and a tooth removed. My experience was very pleasant. From his front office staff to the ladies who cleaned my teeth and for Dr Joe work. Never felt any pain afterwards and even followed up with me to make sure i was OK. Would recommend them if you are looking for a great Dental Practice.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an appointment with Simply Smile, to get a crown on a root canal 01/08/20 on Garners Ferry and realized they constantly would give me different pricing on my root canal/crown which was quite odd. So i took it upon myself and search through my insurance and see whom I was in network with. And I came upon this amazing office! I literally called and explain my story to I believe “Shirley”? At around 10:23AM and lucky someone canceled their appointment, and was squeezed in at 11AM SAME DAY! The staff was soo friendly, atmosphere was amazing and clean/neat! The nurse I had was Brittany and she was INCREDIBLE, VERY INFORMATIVE & sweet and friendly! I then met Rachel and she was very sweet & helpful as well! I had the pleasure to speak with Mr. Joel Johnson & he was sooooo informative, professional, kind & sweet! He helped me and had a conversation with me as if he known me all my life! Most doctors & dentists are more so for the money, but he is completely opposite. He truly cares for you and insist you to what you truly need at a reasonable price! But he and his staff was so kind and sweet & definitely an amazing help. You have definitely gained a new patient. Thank you for the amazing experience!

I called Dr. Johnson this morning mainly because they opened the earliest . I am so glad I did, they got me in by 9:00 and they are the friendliest staff. My dad has had strokes and it has affected the part of his brain that controls his anxiety. It gets so bad he sometimes has to leave the room. Dr Joe and his staff were so patient with my dad, they gave him a break during the procedure without my dad even having to ask. And you could tell that they really cared. I can not thank Dr Joe enough for everything that he has done for my dad.
