Also I had 100 percent work they did but still wanted 1000 Dollars up front after my work was started. I had to walk out while teeth were worked on. I didn't ever go through this with other dentist.

Luckily I was able to speak with a doctor and he gave me some good information to help me and suggested that I come to see him if it didn't get better.

The dentist told the dental assistant that the x-rays weren’t good and she lied and said I was falling asleep while she was doing the x-rays, which was NOT true. The dentist came in and made a rude comment saying “if you weren’t falling asleep she could’ve got some better x-rays” I was exhausted, but no way was I falling asleep while they were doing the x-rays. The dentist just told me I needed dentures and to go get a second opinion. very disappointed in this dental office, will NEVER go back.

They took the x-ray of my teeth and referred me to another place to get my wisdom teeth taken out but did not do a teeth cleaning like I needed. Experiencia negativa: The reason I'm writing this is a one I've got a dental emergency and I called the emergency line the number is no longer in business and it don't matter what one you call and I called them on Friday my dentist at Mountain Grove and they said they'd have someone returned my phone call is I've got some serious tooth pains two of them and they won't respond to me for nothing they just say you got to wait till your appointment on Tuesday or a specialist will call you back well that never happened I think this is kind of BS

He always says please and thank you to his assistant. The waiting room is clean and spacious. The treatment rooms are clean and organized. I’m always cold and I take a sweater with me. I’ve been a patient there for 3 years and I have no need to go elsewhere.

Experiencia positiva: The dentist and the assistant have been great but the lab they sent to hasn't gotten anything right the dentist has been trying I've been waiting for my upper denture and my partial 4 months. First they sent my upper plate impression but the teeth were too small and they made a copy of the original one I havel them they made a impression of my partial . The teeth of my upper plate plate the teeth were too small so they sent back but my partial didn't come in. I went back to get my upper plate and partial, it came in but my top plate didn't come in. My partial didn't fit so they've sent it back in for adjustments. Now I'm waiting on both to come back in. Hopefully the lab will get it right this time.

Experiencia negativa: 0 Stars. There billing and insurance office is terrible. They should be much more knowledgeable on what insurances pay. I was told by them that insurance would pay half the amount. They didn't. It was denied because they do not use the proper billing codes the insurance set for being a in network provider. Now I am responsible for another 1000+ bill. When I was speaking to the insurance lady about it she basically said "it's not my fault I just work here.

Experiencia negativa: I had a truly terrible experience at American Family Dental – Mountain Grove, and I feel compelled to share so others are aware of how this office operates. I have Cigna Dental HMO, which is hard to find providers for in Knoxville. After calling around to over a dozen offices, I was relieved to find that this one accepted my insurance. When I called, I clearly explained I was a new patient and in pain, and the staff member who booked my appointment told me they couldn’t get me in for a cleaning until October — but since I was in pain, she was able to book me for a problem-focused appointment the following Tuesday at 4 PM. The day before the appointment, I received a call saying 1) they couldn’t find my completed new patient paperwork (which I had already filled out), and 2) they needed to move my appointment 30 minutes earlier because I was a new patient. Again, I had been upfront from the very beginning that I was new — so why the last-minute change? Fast-forward to the day of my appointment. A major 7-car accident delayed traffic, and GPS showed I would be about 10 minutes late. I called ahead, explained the situation, and the person I spoke with said they had a 15-minute grace period, and she would let the provider know. I arrived 12 minutes late. Upon arrival, I gave my ID and explained that I had an electronic insurance card. The front desk person rudely told me that I was supposed to text it beforehand (though this was never made clear), so I sent it to her immediately. I asked where the restroom was while she processed my ID, went in for less than two minutes, and came back out. A few minutes later, she informed me that my appointment was being cancelled — because I was late and because I used the restroom after arriving. I explained I had called in advance, and didn’t think it was fair to be penalized for that, especially while in pain. Instead of any understanding, she raised her voice and became argumentative. At that point, I calmly asked for my ID back, said I was no longer interested in rescheduling, and left. This was one of the worst patient experiences I’ve ever had — and this is before I even saw a provider. I’m still in pain, still haven’t been treated, and now have to start the search all over again. Avoid this place if you value your time, your dignity, or just want to be treated with basic compassion and professionalism.

Confirmation as that call it. My son never got a text to confirm. When we arrived the girl at the counter was rude and hateful. No help at all except to reschedule. I am really surprised because we have always had good experiences in the past. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

They squeezed me in yesterday with an infected dental implant with hardly no wait which speaks volumes because they are always busy! This place is the best and I can’t recommend them because I don’t want it getting any busier and want them for myself so go elsewhere haha!

I'm not sure what we'll do when he eventually retires.

Experiencia negativa: Silly. I travel for work full time so I usually get my teeth cleanings in whatever state I’m in. Offices almost always will accept my recent X-rays from a different doctor. This place refuses to clean my teeth without doing X-rays even though I had X-rays done 5 months ago at a different practice and have them in hand. I’m not gonna pay extra and spend extra time for another set of completely unnecessary X-rays. Money grab.

Experiencia negativa: This dentist office came highly recommended from a friend. I made an appointment for implant crowns. X-rays were taken. My original implants were done elsewhere and the dentist said that it would take some time to find out what type they were before moving forward. Sadly it's been over a month and I have not heard anything from this office. I couldn't even get a simple cleaning without waiting for months. Recently, I was able to obtain the information of the size & type of implants from the dentist that put in my four implants. This dentist office never followed up. Very disappointed. I will now take my dental care elsewhere. :(

I drove 35 miles to America Family at Mountain Grove location to have my day wasted. Can you believe waking up at 6 am to get to appointments only to discover that you don't have one after arriving? The customer service is very bad. This place is not a good place do not waste your time. They are not professional at all.

Experiencia negativa: I’m terrified to go here again - the entire appointment was just one upsell after another. However, the follow-on has been the worst part. They messed up the insurance billing for my husband and I and we spent 2 months calling, having our insurance call, emailing, and going there in person. They would never answer their phones or return messages, and were closed during their posted business hours. They finally managed to resubmit the insurance claim (I guess my insurance sent them a detailed step-by-step, even though they never bothered to respond) and got it semi-figured out, but not after mailed threats to send us to collections (less than 90 days after service, and without calling us/insurance back!). I’ve been continuing to call and leave messages for 3 more months and they never return them. Yesterday, we get an automated notice to contact them… the front desk finally answered and confirmed it is about a remaining bill and supposedly sent a message for a supervisor to call us back. We’re still waiting… called again…. Still no response. Horrifying nightmare. Update: I finally got a call back weeks later, and they managed to fix the bill. However, I then called when I started getting emails/texts about scheduling my next appointment. I was concerned because I had already scheduled my next cleaning and was worried they screwed it up. I was reassured that those were automatic messages and confirmed my appointment. Came in this morning… nope. They didn’t have me on the schedule, and claim they also have no record of the call…. Even when I pulled up the record on my phone. Absolutely awful, looking for another clinic because this one just can’t get it together.

They got me an immediate appointment and did everything they could to help me. 10/10 recommend to anyone.

I have been trying to get a refund for over a month now, but they don't answer their billing line or return my calls. I'm very disappointed with their billing department and will be looking for a new dentist.
