Efficient, transparent billing, an optional discount plan (if you don’t have dental insurance, this is essentially buying a dental insurance plan directly through them), and excellent communication. Best of all, Dr Jimmy does not push you aggressively into fillings and procedures, unlike the other dentists I’ve dealt with around here.

I'd highly recommend this dental practice, if you are looking for a dentist in the Lafayette, IN area. Their prices are comparable to other dentist, maybe a little less.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a fantastic dental office, probably my favorite of the 6 or 7 dentists I have frequented over my lifetime to date. Most importantly, the staff, hygienists and Dr. Jimmy are all very professional, attentive and kind. They a great welcome process, as well as modern cleaning methods, etc. They are very family friendly. The office itself is also really nice: it's freshly renovated, very clean, and never feels crowded. They have TVs on the ceiling if you're into that. My employer-sponsored dental coverage isn't so great (there are very few in-network providers for me in the area), so I use the Downtown Dental Savings Plan, which I find to be sensibly priced for the quality of service provided.

Experiencia fantástica: I've never been great at taking care of my teeth. Always put off going to the dentist as I didn't want to hear bad news. This year I decided to bite the bullet and get an idea of how bad my situation was. The Downtown Dental crew has been great. I've never once felt judged for my own lack of dental discipline. Within a few appointments I was all cleaned up with no cavities. Now it's up to me to keep things that way. I no longer dread going to the dentist! Also need to mention how great Dr. Jimmy has been with my kids. We've had some complicated problems but his coordination with the orthodontist has been exceptional!

I was greeted warmly when I arrived and quickly taken back for xrays and exam. Dr. Jimmy discussed the findings and several options that I had. I was shown a summary of charges UP FRONT, no hidden fees. Options and fees upfront, I couldn't believe it! Dr. Jimmy was compassionate and sympathetic to me being a "scaredy cat" d/t a bad childhood dental experience. He talked to me during the procedure telling me what he was doing and calming me by telling me I was doing a great job. After the procedure I was given Post Op instructions that are clearly written and understandable. I will definitely be going back to Dr. Jimmy and I 100% recommend him. I called downtown dental and they were able to get me in there the same day for a visit. After going over my options I ended up choosing to have my tooth pulled, the doctor was very helpful in letting me know my options and he was willing to put in the work to help me save my tooth but he let me decide what was best for my situation. All the staff was kind and friendly and did everything to help me feel comfortable. I will certainly be referring downtown dental to all my family and friends in the future. They have great prices and they go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. I'm grateful for all the help they provided on very short notice.

I went into Downtown Dental today with high anxiety, but Dr. Jimmy and his staff assured me that they would take great care of me and they did -- they listened well, were compassionate, gentle, kind, helped me push past my fear and start fresh. Honestly, the only complaint I have is that they are out of network for my insurance, but the resulting (slight) hassle is absolutely worth it; I simply do not trust anyone else with my dental care.

Dr. Jimmy probably spent 25 minutes talking with me, understanding my dental goals, and talking through potential problems he sees in my dental future. He was extremely helpful and easy to talk to you! In fact, everyone I worked with in the office was kind, gentle, and attentive. They also have fun touches that I've never seen before: "Welcome, [your name]" is displayed on the screen when you walk in to your exam room - so fun! I'm sure kids love this too! And the assistant takes pictures of your teeth (not just x-rays) so that you and Dr. Jimmy have something to look at together when you're discussing your teeth (something that is intelligible to non-dentists ). Super helpful!! Also, their decor is really beautiful!

Experiencia fantástica: I found Downtown Dental by searching Google for "low-cost dentists". They came up because they have an amazing plan for uninsured people like me! The entire team is so hospitable, patient and kind, from the front office, to assistants, hygienist, and Dr. Lutz. Dr. Lutz spent a lot of time prior to exam asking about my goals, concerns and answering all my questions. Then he spent even more time after the exam going over options for treatment, and very thoroughly explaining all the reasons for his recommendations and making sure every question I had was answered and understood. The office is very clean, nicely renovated, and welcoming. Best Google find I've had in a while! Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: This is our 3rd dentist since moving to Lafayette and we were blown away with how incredible they were in all areas of our experience. This is a review of my experience combined with my kid’s, ages ranging from 4 to 8. (My husband had a similarly great experience but he can write his own review. :)) The first thing we noticed was the affordability of the family plan. It was easy to make an appointment and the registrar was very friendly. When we arrived we noticed the local art displayed on the walls. We were offered a tour in which there was more local art displayed and very clean and welcoming “rooms” (not sure what to call the area where you sit to get examined). One of the things that stood out was their genuine care and friendliness. On the tv screen my kids were so surprised at how it displayed their name and welcomed them. The person taking pictures of our teeth was so kind and explained in detail what she was doing and asked questions regarding our comfort. The dental hygienist took some time to get to know me and my teeth before she started cleaning. She offered me a water and gave me her full attention and asked good questions. At the end of my experience I felt like I made a friend. (I told the dentist I was sold from just my experience with the hygienist!) She was gentle with my kids and always talked to them about what she was going to do. Their experience was so positive they don’t mind getting their teeth cleaned now. This was the first dentist that actually took the time to give our teeth a good cleaning. The other two places we went to were done cleaning our teeth in minutes and it just didn’t feel like they were clean. From the place where we moved we were used to more in-depth cleanings. We were thankful to find a place that took their time to really clean our teeth. The dentist came in and he was the kindest, friendliest guy. He too, gave his full attention. He asked questions to get to know us and our family as well as asked great questions about our teeth and habits. He was very knowledgeable and it was more of a conversation about what would be best for us. It was very clear he cared about each of us as people and not about how he could encourage us into anything that would cost more money. In fact, even though we hadn’t been to the dentist in over a year bc of bad experiences, we all walked out of there with clean teeth, a referral or two if we wanted to pursue them, tips on better ways to take care of our teeth, no extra appts or procedures, a new quality water bottle and smiles on our faces. We are so thankful to have found Downtown Dental and we cannot recommend them enough!

Experiencia fantástica: It sounds strange, but I walked out of my first appointment feeling joyful. The people were so kind, lighthearted, informative and caring. If you’re scared of the dentist, I get it. Some of them are scary. You’re safe here, though. Give them a shot!

Experiencia fantástica: Before finding Downtown Dental, I tried to make an appointment both for my 2-yo toddler and me at some other places, and the whole experience was awful. Thankfully, some of my friends recommended Downtown Dental, so even though it was out of network place, I decided to check it out. From making an appointment to getting treatment, I was very satisfied with their whole service. Here are a few highlights: 1. They had availability for the first-time patients within a week or two at the time I tried to make an appointment. It was the soonest I could get among all other dental offices I contacted. 2. Filling out forms or setting up the account with them was a breeze. Unlike some other dental office who give you 20pages of copied form for me to fill out, Downtown Dental just emailed me an electronic form for me to fill out before the visit, and it was so convenient! 3. When I checked in for the first time, all they required of me was my insurance card and ID. Again, so simple, straightforward. 4. All the staff working there were friendly and nice. I felt welcomed and relaxed. 5. The office is modern, new, and clean. They had a small gallery for patients to enjoy some art works. Each room also had a small gallery wall, which I thought was very neat. I don't know much about the medical equipment, but they all looked shiny and modern :p 6. Dr. Jimmy - he was very thorough. He explained to me about my oral health condition with details and also gave me an option to either do certain suggested treatment or not. I felt like he respected my decisions. He was also upfront about all the costs associated with those treatment so that I could make the choice. 7. Even though it was out of network place, my insurance covered almost all treatment cost, which was great. I also had a great time taking my 2yo to the dentist for the first time, but since my review is so long, I'll stop here. I definitely recommend this place!

Experiencia fantástica: I just recently had my consultation at Downtown Dental, which is part of their new patient process. Dr. Jimmy and his staff are so kind and thorough. They make sure to make you feel welcome by showing you around the office, walking you through exactly what to expect and making sure they are meeting YOUR needs. Dr. Jimmy will sit down and ask you about your goals and how he can help you reach those goals with your smile. He will show you your X-Rays and explain the why behind everything so there aren't any surprises, and he asks a lot of you have any questions. I'm very glad we made the switch to Downtown Dental!

The team at Downtown Dental made the transition easy, helping me transfer relevant x-rays and other information. When I visit my dentist at home and return to this location they make sure to stay informed on any changes and address all concerns I have. Both Dr. Jimmy the hygienists are realistic with their recommendations and care plan, and take into consideration your lifestyle to make practical changes to improve your health. Calling to make an appointment is very easy and the ability to text with Kourtney regarding any reminders/issues is incredibly helpful.
