Experiencia negativa: Dishonest Billing practices. You better check your insurance because the front office is not entirely honest about in and out of network billing. Its hard enough for young people today and your office should be transparent with everyone when it comes to billing.

Experiencia negativa: I came to Beckham Dental after another dentist damaged my bite and I began searching for a new provider who accepted my insurance. I was told by Beckham that my insurance was accepted, but because I had already used my annual benefits at the time, I understood I would be paying out of pocket until the next plan year. My husband later scheduled treatment there with plenty of benefits remaining, under the same belief about insurance coverage, and only learned otherwise after receiving a bill following his first visit. Being too far into treatment to reasonably start over elsewhere, he reluctantly completed care at a cost exceeding the total premiums paid for the year through his employer-provided dental insurance. When I later questioned why I had initially been told our insurance was accepted, I was told Beckham had never represented that and had repeatedly informed me otherwise. That was not true. I would never have recommended the office to my husband had I known we would be fully responsible for the cost of care. As a result, we both moved on to a dentist fully covered under our existing insurance. Because I genuinely liked Dr. Campbell, more than a year later I contacted Beckham Dental to ask which insurance company and plan I should purchase in order to return and continue my treatments. I was specifically advised to obtain the Delta Dental Sonoran plan, which I purchased immediately. According to Delta Dental, this plan provided covered cleanings and x-rays, approximately a $20 copay for periodontal cleanings, a $50 deductible, 60/40 benefit coverage, and a $1,500 annual maximum, with pre-existing conditions not covered for the first nine months. After my first return appointment, I received a significant bill several days after the visit, but was told it related to a special x-ray and my deductible. At my next appointment, I was billed roughly twice the anticipated copay pursuant to Delta Dental; however, due to a death in the family, I did not dispute the charge at that time. During that same visit, I was provided a treatment plan stating my estimated patient responsibility for filling repairs. Based on that treatment plan cost, I scheduled the procedure and paid the full amount at the time of service. Two days later, I was informed I owed approximately 50% more than the amount estimated and already paid. Rather than contact Beckham, I reached out to Delta Dental, believing the discrepancy was an insurance issue based on prior explanations. It was then I learned Beckham Dental does not fully honor the Delta Dental Sonoran plan structure, resulting in significantly higher patient responsibility all along. I was informed that Beckham fully honors only certain Delta PPO plan types, and the Sonoran plan is not among them. Regarding the recent procedure, I was also advised that there were no records indicating Beckham contacted Delta Dental to verify my financial responsibility prior to submitting the claim. This raises concerns about how the estimated amount on my treatment plan was calculated, as the actual responsibility proved to be substantially higher. Overall, my experience reflects repeated representations about insurance acceptance, benefit coverage, and estimated patient responsibility that did not align with the actual financial outcome. Costs were presented in a way that made treatment appear manageable, only for materially higher balances to emerge after services were completed, leaving little opportunity to make informed decisions beforehand. The instruments may have been clean, the billing practices felt anything but.

Experiencia fantástica: Many years ago Dr. Beckham made me the happiest man on the planet. He is friendly, compassionate and truly a genius in his field. He had to pull 18 teeth in one sitting, and it was practically pain free. I have never said this about anyone in my life, but he reminded me of my grandfather. You know, back when men were hardworking, trustworthy and followed through with what they said. The reason I stopped going was because of one of his employees. I would call and leave messages to have him please call me back, but I would never get a response. I honestly believe now, based on information that I just came across, that that person never gave him the messages. She is no longer there, and I hope to speak with him soon. Please do not hesitate to see him if you have a fear of dentists, because he will change your mind.
