Experiencia negativa: After moving to Little Falls, MN, I chose Baxter Dental in Baxter, MN because they stated they accepted my Delta Dental insurance, which I have used for years without any issues. I typically have my teeth cleaned four times a year—insurance covers two cleanings, and I pay for the other two. At eighty-one, I still have all my teeth. I scheduled an exam and cleaning for mid-December 2025. Upon arrival, I confirmed with the staff that they accepted Delta Dental, and my hygienist performed a standard cleaning, which matched my previous experiences. However, a few weeks later, Delta Dental informed me that the doctor was not actually in-network, so I was charged an “out of network” fee. Additionally, I was billed for a periodontal “deep cleaning,” which was not performed—only a routine cleaning took place. Over the years, I have had deep cleanings and know the difference, so I recognized this was not the case. There are two main issues with this clinic: First, they were not transparent about the out-of-network status and failed to inform me of the potential consequences. Second, I was charged for a service that was not provided, which is both misleading and costly. While it’s possible the session was coded incorrectly for insurance, the lack of transparency and the questionable billing make it difficult for me to trust their intentions. As a result, I will not return to this clinic, especially given their lack of transparency and the overcharging I experienced.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent visit to Baxter Dental PLLC. We sincerely regret the frustration and disappointment this situation has caused you.
Please know that we take matters of insurance transparency and billing accuracy very seriously. It is never our intention for a patient to experience confusion regarding network participation or to be billed for services they believe were not rendered. Your feedback is important and will be carefully reviewed with our administrative and clinical teams.
We would like to clarify that our office is, in fact, an in-network participating provider with Delta Dental. However, it is important to note that Delta Dental offers multiple plans, and coverage levels can vary depending on the specific employer group or plan type. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you

Experiencia fantástica: Always enjoy my visits to Baxter Dental, ( er, as much as anyone can enjoy a visit to the dentist.) Everyone is pleasant and competent. It also doesn’t hurt that your dentist saved your life a few years back. But that is a story for another day.
Experiencia fantástica: Was very happy with the office, staff and Doctor. I am happy to be there.
Experiencia fantástica: Very good experience nice front desk staff and the dental hygienist was very gentle
Experiencia fantástica: I know when I call, I will always be helped by persons actually working in my dentist’s office. Everyone working there is experienced, competent and answers any of my concerns. All of the hygienists are equally qualified so I can expect to receive excellent care no matter who works on me. The 2 dentists are both equally qualified but do consult with each other if necessary. They truly care about the health of my teeth and explain any procedure thoroughly before, during and aftercare. I have never been dissatisfied. I have been a patient at this dental office beginning with the original owner/dentist who, deciding to retire and sell his business, hired Dr Scott Timmons, owner, who has carried forward the excellent practice. I would never change and even though I moved from the Brainerd area, I still drive 2-1/2 hours for my dental care.
