Dr. Makani and team explained everything clearly and made a thoughtful, well-informed decision about the treatment I needed, and included me in the decision. I also appreciated the thorough explanation on every step of the procedure and what to expect. I felt confident I was in good hands throughout the entire visit and would highly recommend this practice.

Experiencia negativa: Very nice staff, but some of them lack in emotional support. I had to get fillings the other week and I told them I have a fear of needles and the drills they use. I called the office ahead of time and asked if they had any kind of sedative to give me so I would be less anxious because most dental offices do. I mean it’s not uncommon for someone to be afraid of the dentist. So like I was saying, I called and asked said I have a fear of needles etc and she just says “don’t look at it then”… I’m like ok maybe she just doesn’t know what to say because she is just the receptionist. I tell the dentist when I get there and asked for a sedative and she says “just close your eyes and hold my hand you got this” when they start the procedure i immediately start crying due to anxiety. She says “why are you crying?” And I say i literally told you I hate needles going in my teeth for the numbness. She’s wiping my tears and telling me to stop crying. Then they put a small extender in my mouth to keep it open and also a suction device, I kept pointing to it trying to get their attention. They pull it out and say “what’s the issue now?” I tell them my teeth are sensitive on that side and she goes “ugh I’ll just take it out then” I feel it’s not much to ask for a little support if you have high anxiety. I will not be returning.

Experiencia fantástica: Our daughter needed emergency dental care in which her pediatric dentist did not feel comfortable doing. She was in a great deal of pain and I called the office asking if they did emergency dental care. At first they said they didn't have any availability but called me back a few minutes later and said they could take a look and possibly help her out despite It being 430 and closing at 5. From the moment we stepped into the office, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They took her back and explained everything to her and made her as comfortable as possible. They eased her fear and walked her through everything. They made the overall experience amazing for our daughter who was absolutely terrified going in. They stayed late in order to help her out. We HIGHLY recommend this practice and will be switching to this practice from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Makani & Staff are so nice & accommodating—I had seen them a few months prior about a problematic tooth and the consultation was free…and I knew that I’d prob have to get a bridge but I put it off, and needless to say, it finally fell out (well most of it), and naturally I was freaking out b/c it was my incisor and was very visible, so I called them up and they fit me in immediately and were able to extract the remainder of the tooth & construct a temporary bridge in 1.5 hours! I also told them I wasn’t very comfortable at the dentist & asked him to walk me thru what he was doing, so he made sure to let me know what he was about to do each step of the way. I’ve gotta say, even tho I’ve never had to have a tooth extracted before I was expecting a lot of pain, but the only pain I felt was the numbing needle—he’s def a pro at extracting teeth—quick & painless. Def recommend seeing them.

Had a cleaning appointment recently and could not forget the friendliness of the staff and Dr.Makani. Dr.Makani takes time and always welcomes everyone with a smile. Normally, during cleaning you don’t see doctor at many place for more than 5 mins but here, I have always had great interaction with dr. Who cares for their patients.

Experiencia negativa: The receptionist voluntarily does not care to return the phone calls nor answers my calls after leaving the practice. Called multiple times since I had an issue with retrieving my xray that was required by my current practice. Absolutely pathetic

Experiencia fantástica: Quick and knowledgeable I went in for an emergency visit thinking I had a bad infection. I was in so much pain! The Dentist was patient and knowledgeable and she immediately knew something else was wrong. Couldn’t find infection after x-rays but actually found out without me saying it that I’d been dealing with a high bite. She fixed it and I feel so much better. I had no idea not going through the appropriate steps to ensure your bite is correct for fillings or crowns is so important. I’ll be more patient next time the dentist asks me for the nth time if my bite feels ok and do the annoying but necessary paper marker. Lesson learned and problem solved! Thank you for seeing me even though I’m not a regular patient! Much appreciated

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to come back and actually provide a review to explain why I gave five stars I am someone who experiences pretty significant dental anxiety. There is something about the drill sounds, sensitivity of my gums even when at my healthiest, and of course the needles that look far longer than they actually are. From the second I expressed this each person I interacted with took care to explain things along the way, to ensure I was the numbest I've ever been, to advise I take in a deep breath when the injections were close. I have never been asked "Are you ok" as much in any prior dental office and it felt extremely good to have their patience and to be validated in feeling anxious. Even more importantly, I never once felt judged. Excellent bedside manner, quality service, and just all around nice staff from front desk, to hygienist, to dental assistant, to Dr. Makani himself. We're huge fans and will go nowhere else while we still live in Chester County.

Experiencia fantástica: I am so grateful to Dr. Makani. My teeth are not in good shape by any means and I've always had severe anxiety about dental work in general. I started having the most excruciating oral pain I've ever had in my life. After visiting the ER and another urgent dental spot, I was given some antibiotics and told to come back once the infection subsided. I honestly felt like no one cared I was in severe pain. I was on the antibiotics for days, no relief. I couldn't sleep, eat, or barely talk. I was swishing cold water in my mouth for days to get any pain relief I could. I found Eagle Family after doing a simple google search. They were able to get me in the same day. I was mentally prepared to be waiting for hours or told there was nothing that could be done. Dr. Makani was able to numb me up quickly and give me an emergency extraction. No judgement whatsoever like I've experienced quite a few times. They let me pick out a channel on the TV in my room, which is a nice distraction. They stayed after closing to fit me in so I could have some relief. Anyone that has had severe tooth pain knows how much it means to find someone that cares and is willing to help. I seriously wrote this on the way home, gauze still in my mouth, because I am so grateful for the care I received. I am so relieved that I'll be able to rest and eat tonight. Edit: I was able to go again today and everyone here is just so kind. I feel zero judgement about my dental health. I know my teeth are in horrible shape and I've been shamed a lot by other places. I had some very bad experiences as a child and an adult, so I've always had so much anxiety about the dentist in general. This is the ONLY place I feel comfortable. You can tell they genuinely care. That means everything in today's society. I can't recommend them enough! A place like this is truly a gem. I don't care if it's out of the way. I will always make the drive! Thank you all for being wonderful, kind, caring, efficient and give such great quality of care.

I was first introduced to him when my previous root canal toothcap came out and have to have an emergency appointment. He was able to fit me in and repair my toothcap MUCH more skillfully than any previous dentist. At that visit, Dr. Makani was able to do such a great job, that I decided to return for all my dental care to him. One of his staff members, Yumna, dental Hygienist Samantha are so easy and prompt to communicate with (by text, call, email), and always makes sure about my insurance coverage and my appointments that it makes it a joy to return. Other Assistant (Did not remember her name) who is with Dr. Makani during the process, always makes sure to answer any questions I have and has a very cheerful attitude and is very attentive during the procedures. Definitely highly recommend!

After visiting Dr. Makani and Samantha I would never go elsewhere I actually was falling asleep I was so comfortable while in the middle of a cleaning and after with the exams. They are very adaptable and provide huge insights and truly put the patient as #1 going over my options and giving me recommendations of only things absolutely necessary. I called due to being a little late and they gave me some leniency. Highly recommend 10/10

Experiencia negativa: After 3 visits, I switched dentists. If you have healthy teeth and just need regular cleanings, be prepared for the upsells - mouth guards, fluoride treatments, etc. The final straw was when they told me I had a filling that needed replaced, even though it was only a few years old. Switched to a different dentist and - surprise - my fillings are fine. Glad I didn't let them replace that filling. Going here is like taking your car to an unscrupulous car mechanic.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Makani and his staff are excellent, very upfront and honest about what treatments are required and keeping you informed. When I broke a tooth last year and contacted them as a new patient they got me in first thing the following day, outlined what my options were and started treatment. Recently when I needed a root canal that required an endodontist after an emergency appointment they immediately reached out to local specialists and got me a same-day appointment. They are very prompt and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

He showed immense patience and diligently worked on each issue every time we went to see him. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. He handled our case very cautiously as we had underlying health condition- heart patient and diabetic, and on blood thinners. He provided great quality denture and worked within a nice budget range. In addition to our experience with Dr. Makani, it goes without saying that his entire staff is awesome!! From front desk- Swati who is always willing to set you in for appointments to dental assistants and hygienist, we never had a dull day visit :).

Experiencia negativa: I called your office for a routine appointment in June and got an appointment for Dec 15th. The wait time was too long. But a friend called you in July and you gave her an appointment immediately as she was a new patient. Then your office called me on Friday and moved my appointment to 9 a.m this morning citing staffing issue. The hygienist took x-rays and did not clean because she said that the left side needed deep cleaning and that she would only do cleaning on the right side. I asked to speak to the doctor. The Asian dentist who attended did not have the best bedside manners.She never introduced herself, sat parallel to my face where I could not see her without straining my neck as the chair was in a 170 degree angle recline. She repeated the same thing the hygienist said about cleaning only the right side. I said i wasn't planning on getting the deep cleaning done until January which is more than 3 weeks away and shouldn't hinder regular cleaning today. she said she wouldn't do it. I cited example of a pedicure and facial where hypothetically one side needs more care. Does it mean you will do facial on one side of the face and ask the client to come back 3 weeks later to do a pore cleaning on the left side? or if one went for a pedicure and if the left feet needs more scrubbing, would you ask the client to come back another day for the left feet and only clean the right feet? Or lets say a client does not want to deep clean or doesn't have insurance or the money to deep clean? Would you still do only right side cleaning? The asian dentist kept interrupting me as I spoke and cited example of a car tire. There are 4 tires in a car and each can be handled separately much like a wisdom tooth removal or a tooth extraction for a rotten tooth. So her logic and example is not the same as a regular teeth cleaning. I also called my cousin in San Francisco who is a dentist and explained what happened and she felt that there was no reason to not do a complete cleaning. She checked and cleaned my teeth in June this year when i visited her. So she is aware of my dental health. I am sorry but i will not be returning to your practice and neither will I be recommending it.

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff, clean room n wiped down patientvseat, and the doctor explained my dental situation well and explained clearly what steps and why it was needed to be taken. Overall good experience n this is my first time here. Best thing was the TV on the ceiling that really helped distract from the procedure going on in the mouth :). Appreciate them thoughtfully providing a small cooler for water in the front office.

Experiencia fantástica: Despite having dental insurance for many years, I avoided going to the dentist out of extreme fear and anxiety. Inevitably, I had an emergency with multiple teeth at the same time. Eagle family smiles was able to find time to see me, listen to my fears, make me comfortable and provide a temporary resolution to the teeth issues. They were extremely friendly and comforting and explained every step that they would perform. We made a plan for the next few weeks to get everything "permanently" fixed and I even went in for a cleaning. The dentist and all of the staff are EXCELLENT and I recommend them 100%. The facility is very nice, modern and clean. While I still have anxiety (who doesnt), I am back on track and will maintain my appts there for years to come.
