Experiencia negativa: Damaged cracked tooth 3 weeks of run around emphasized the need for extraction. The day of which it was to be removed nothing was scheduled to be done they dont accept the insurance for their oral surgeon. When was they going to let me know and stop wasting my time. The secretary isn't picking up the phone now that I've found a new office and we need the referral letter. They don't notify patients of changes they will set up a pointless appointment. Repeat the tooth is opened.

Experiencia negativa: 0/10 — Extremely disappointing Invisalign experience at Dr. Dental in Hackensack and Lyndhurst I paid approximately $5,000 to begin Invisalign treatment through Dr. Dental. After treatment started, the dentist handling my case in Hackensack was changed multiple times, which left me questioning who was responsible for my care and what the treatment plan actually was. Eventually I was told (when I showed up to an appointment, not before) that there were no more dentists certified to do Invisalign at this location. Then I was then directed to the Lyndhurst office for a consultation where he recommended extracting a tooth - that seemed unnecessary to me, so I got an independent orthodontic consultation. That orthodontist raised serious concerns about the way my teeth had been moved and estimated that correcting the situation could cost me an additional $6,000. The communication from Dr Dental has been unacceptable. I have not received clear information about the next steps, responsibility for my treatment, or whether I am entitled to any refund. I was given a phone number by Donna, who is apparently the head office manager (and specializes in ortho), but my calls and office messages have not been returned. I have also sent messages to the number she provided herself (probably a fake number) and have not received a response. Patients should not have to repeatedly chase a dental office after paying thousands of dollars for treatment. Changing providers without clear communication, giving conflicting treatment guidance, and then failing to respond to concerns is completely unacceptable. I am documenting my experience and intend to report the matter to the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry and pursue other appropriate options. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting an independent orthodontic opinion before beginning Invisalign with either of these offices. Do not use this office unless you are prepared to independently verify the treatment plan, provider credentials, and refund policies in writing.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could say this was a great experience but it wasn’t. This was my second visit. First visit was for both of my daughters to get their teeth cleaned. The first child’s appt went quickly the second one they told me the the machine they use to clean teeth was broken and they literally brushed my daughters teeth with a normal toothbrush and called it a cleaning. I only went here so I can see the orthodontist but I had to see their dentist first. So now today, I had an appt at 1pm and made another appointment at a new orthodontist while waiting because by 3:15 I still wasn’t called in. There was no communication from the front desk. When I asked she told me “they’re cleaning a room” the second time she said “I’m going back now to check” the 3rd time she pretty much ignored my presence and the people standing waiting to get checked in. Things happen and sometimes pushes off the schedule but no communication from the staff is unprofessional, no one apologized and asked if someone would like to reschedule. This was extremely disappointing, I literally booked another appointment while waiting with a new practice. Don’t overbook, waiting that long is crazy.

Experiencia negativa: Our most recent appointment took three hours from the time we arrived until we finally left. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time we experienced a long wait here. The office seemed very unorganized, with long waits between each part of the appointment. I’m glad my son’s exam went well, but three hours for a routine exam, X-rays and cleaning is simply too long. We’ll be going elsewhere for his regular dental exams and cleanings while finishing his orthodontic treatment here.

You schedule folks all the time knowing very well that, you don't have the capacity to work with everyone. 15mns to 30mns wait is understandable but not 2 hours. In fact, they have a stupid system that reaches out via text for acknowledgement and even with that (A) acknowledgement, is still not taking into consideration..So what is essence of the stupid system?? Today My daughter was on time for her appointment and was delayed for 2 hours even though I acknowledge the stupid system and if you claimed that you placed a call to a number on filed, than tried leaving a message explaining while you are calling.. The visit to this facility is really BAD.. THE WAIT IS CRAZY

Experiencia fantástica: My dental appointment went well. Today was a final appointment for my Invisalign retainers. The Dental asst Nefi was new. He was so pleasant, friendly and accommodating He asked if I wanted to watch anything while I was being serviced. He suggested Netflix and I watched a documentary while he took my final images. This new employee is the epitome of Customer Service Friendly. This is the first time someone offered me something like this and I have been coming here for over 2yrs. Thanks Nefi for the great experience and the Orthodontist was a pleasure as always . Thanks for the experience

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Gumbo and his team are great, but the terrible management of this franchise is pushing patients away. This dentist location is Dr. Julia Faigel’s franchise, and she has a history of customer mistreatment and improper billing. Over the two years I’ve been here for orthodontic work, I have dealt with constant miscommunication and extreme over-scheduling. In the past, I have walked into a waiting room with literally not enough seats for the amount of people they booked, forcing me to wait 30 minutes to an hour past my time just to be seen. The billing is just as bad. When my insurance changed, they never told me they stopped taking my DMO plan and just kept charging me a "copay." Later, they misquoted me ~$200 for an unnecessary “extensive cleaning,” refused to clarify what my insurance actually covered, and then insulted me by asking to bring the payment terminal into my treatment room before the procedure even started. Lately, they keep rescheduling my appointments with almost zero communication. Yesterday around 5 PM, they gave me less than 24 hours' notice to move my 11:00 AM appointment to 10:30 AM. I arrived at 10:45 AM to an empty lobby, but Donna turned me away, claiming the doctor only sees patients for 10 minutes. It is infuriating that they expect patients to wait an hour for them in a packed room, but will completely turn you away over 15 minutes on a last-minute schedule change. I love Dr. Gumbo, but the front desk and management make it a miserable experience.

Though I was scared from bad experiences from previous offices, Everything was broken down and explained to me thoroughly with nothing but confidence in their work! The procedure went smoothly and didn’t feel a thing but soreness after the fact. Even though there’s only one doctor there at the moment, she didn’t rush her craft and as someone with sensitive teeth, she has a very steady hand! Every person in this office is very nice and easy to talk to! 10/10 THANK YOU

Experiencia negativa: They deserve 0 stars but unfortunately, 0 stars isn’t an option. Dr. Dental in general (Clifton & Lyndhurst offices) are THE WORST dentist offices EVER! They only have one Ortho in the Lyndhurst office and he is the only Ortho in the office one day per week and that day is constantly changing. So they schedule your appointment and next thing you know, they’re calling you to change the appointment. They send emails and text messages to “confirm” your appointment, you confirm and next thing you know, they schedule someone else in the time slot you had already confirmed. They did my son’s braces and it was as if they had fastened them with play dough because the brackets were FOREVER breaking. There were many times my son wasn’t even eating anything and his brackets would break. I shall add that they charge $25 for each broken bracket. I had braces as a teenager and NEVER had any issues. Long story short, do yourself a favor and find another dentist location!

Prior to coming in I did have to reschedule and was met with a very hostile employee who incessantly questioned me on why I had to reschedule. It felt very invasive and unprofessional. After having to clean the seat off for myself and waiting over an hour for my scheduled appointment to begin, they then proceeded to make an unnecessary follow up appointment without my consent or knowledge on a date and time that would not work for me. When I called to get the appointment cancelled I was informed that this is their process. That had not been my experience with them in the past, but if I hadn’t called when I had, would have likely to been made to pay a fee for rescheduling. While my cleaning was fine and staff was nice during my visit, that doesn’t make up for the amount of wasted time and the unprofessional individual I spoke to. Would not recommend.

First time in this location at Lyndhurst and their front desk lady name “Donna” supposedly “the regional Manager of this company” it’s a very rude and disrespectful person. She had an attitude while talking to me and also she told me that I should find a doctor in Pennsylvania as that’s where I live(it’s not what you said, it’s how you say it. The expressions on her face was telling me get out of my office just because I can’t come Saturday to see a surgeon and I asked for a weekday appointment). There has to be a reason why I drive from PA to NJ to give this company my insurance money and my deductible money and you are telling me that I should find somewhere else to go. How has someone in such a high-ranking position within the company reached that level while showing so little respect for others and treating people poorly? I heard I am not the only one that had complained about her so If management is already aware of her rude and unprofessional behavior, why is she assigned to interact directly with patients when she lacks patience, empathy, professionalism, and basic respect for those she serves? Patient-facing roles require strong interpersonal skills, courtesy, and compassion. Unfortunately, her conduct consistently falls short of those expectations and creates a negative experience for the people she interacts with.

I scheduled the appointment with them and clearly communicated the appointment was for a “ RE- TREATMENT “. They said okay and booked me. I told them that I was in pain and I couldn’t wait too long. They made me wait 2 days to get the appointment. Once I get there after requesting half of a day off from work they’ll made me fill out all the paperwork and make me wait almost 50 minutes just to tell me they don’t do re treatment. I explained them that when I booked the appointment I clearly stated it is for a re treatment. They couldn’t even apologize they just said that they don’t perform those type of procedures

I got a cleaning and 2 cavity fillings. I was a bit nervous but the process was not bad at all! The dentist made it a comfortable and easy experience. The manager was also very nice and explained my copay and insurance. You can really tell everyone puts a lot of consideration and care for patients into their work. Also it was very easy to find parking at this office.

I am only leaving a review bc they have called me, texted me and emailed me asking me to give them a review even though I walked out of my child's appointment. Went in for consultation with tooth pain, child needed root canal. Made appt for root canal was given a new dentist. Dentist messed up my child's braces in an area of her mouth she wasn't even supposed to be working on. Then told me she couldn't complete root canal without me removing my child's wisdom teeth. First dentist never mentioned any of this nor did my ortho who I sent X-rays to as a consultation. Took my child for a second opinion at different dentist and ortho and was told by both they had no idea what this dentist was talking about as wisdom teeth were nowhere near being fully grown or in the way of any work she would need. Since doing this I have received phone calls, texts, emails from this business asking me for reviews and also if I want to set up treatment for root canal like I wasn't just there. Such a messy company no communication amongst staff, I also would not trust this office to remove my daughters wisdom teeth and give her sedation medication. The office looks dirty compared to other dentists and the dentists seem flighty. Do not recommend.

The lady at the front desk, Kathy ,took care of my authorization of my insurance and payment plan great. my dentist, Dr. Gabriel and her assistant Dalilah ,did an exceptional job with my cleaning, x rays, and filling. I took my mother there for a regular cleaning based on the good reviews that now I believe they wrote themselves. I paid $200. Her appointment was at 10am and we came out of there 12:15. My mother doesn’t speak English so I always go with her to translate. They asked me to step out of the room for x-rays which is understandable but since the assistant was Hispanic they didn’t call me back or allowed my mom to get me back in the room. They had my mom sitting there for 2 hours and when they did the cleaning the one that was supposedly translating didn’t even helped her. When she came out she was in pain because they were rough. We were very upset and left but the receptionist said they will call me because they told my mom she had cavities. A week went by and I never got a call. So I called multiple times and asked for her X-rays. I got the x-rays and had to take my mom to another dentist which cost me another $200 because those X-rays were done poorly and there were not clear images. Then I get notifications from her insurance saying they requested services for crowns and nerve treatments which she was NEVER TOLD she needed. They don’t answer phones and all they want is your money. Don’t lose your time here AVOID it at all cost.

Experiencia fantástica: Love the service of the friendly staff. Kathy the manager is warm and kind. The dentist is a Columbia Unervisity graduate practicing for 21 years. You can't ask for better. The dentist assistant Delilah loves her work and you feel it as she takes care of you. This is a powerful team, Girl Power! I was very satisfied with my cleaning and examine which was done by the Columbia graduate dentist Dr. Ost. These ladies are professional but show personal interest so you may have to wait for service. Each patient get tender care. There's no rush, service is their calling card. If you can't wait don't go, but if you have time you will not regret it! I noticed every patient in the waiting room with me stayed and waited to get this wonderful care. You can't beat kindness and skill no matter how long it takes.

Experiencia negativa: In the office in Lyndhurst, about more than a year my son had been treated for braces there, when the treatment finished he received a pair of retainers. He lost them and we had to order new ones. The specialist said that it would take 2 weeks for the new retainers to get there. We were waiting for one month and a half, and obviously the teeth moved a lot after all that time, so the retainer doesn’t fit any more. They want me now pay for the treatment again. What kind of professionals are they? That was their responsibility… Be aware!

They have canceled a few times on me and then when I canceled my appointments they tell me to try to schedule my appointments more better and the lady told me that the doctors get very busy. Also, asking me why I am canceling the reason for it. I have never heard of an office telling you that.

Experiencia negativa: I’m patient from Dr. Dental in Hackensack and always I recommend that place. They recommended to my son take the brakes treatment in Lyndhurst the first time was excellent they explain everything about the price and plan to pay it. We started the treatments and they were supposed to make the debit each month. Each time my son was over there asked why he doesn’t see any debit from his bank account and they said the person in charge of that is not here. Many times I called asking for this people unfortunately I didn’t get response from there. He had problem with his teeth I try to make an appointment so they respond we don’t doctor until the next month so why when they offer the treatment show us the best place but it’s no true. Right now my son is in collections paying the amount. The problem is not the payment, the problem is it was their mistake, their fault. Last week someone call from the office telling my son that they cancel the appointment that he had because they don’t see any payment. We explain everything but nobody find the solution. I have more things to say but I need someone from this center contact me and give me a solution for this big issue.

Experiencia negativa: I booked an emergency appointment online for my son to have an extraction done. We were very clear both in writing and verbally that he was looking for an extraction, and not a root canal, which are known to fail and cause a great deal of pain when they do. The office contacted me to confirm the appointment, which I did. Upon arrival, I was informed that both the doctor I booked with, and the time I booked, were not available (the appointment I was asked to confirm -???) and that there would be a wait. My son also refrained from eating that morning in the event anesthesia might be used, but we were told he should have eaten (first time I've ever heard this, and we were not contacted to inform us of this in advance). Once he was finally admitted into an exam room, x-rays were taken and approximately 40 minutes passed with him sitting in the chair, while a dentist in another exam room sat on her phone. During this time, a screaming match broke out between the office staff and another patient, who claimed she was told to come in to have her filling checked on a walk-in basis, but was refused when she did just that. The office staff member went back and forth between saying they were new, and also that they were the manager. After all of this, a dentist came into the room my son was in to inform him they would be doing a root canal. He got up from the chair, exited the room, requested his x-rays (which were provided free of charge - the one thing that was handled correctly) and we left. This was not a good experience at all, and the environment was extremely unprofessional. Patients are not prioritized or listened to, and I will not be back - even in an emergency.

The problems started once it was determined that I needed an additional procedure. From that point on, communication was consistently poor. I was repeatedly misquoted on insurance coverage and pricing. For over a month, I was led to believe the procedure was covered or would only require a small out-of-pocket cost. Then, the day before the appointment, I was suddenly told it would be $3,000. That was a complete shock. After I canceled, someone from billing apologized and offered a discount due to all the miscommunication, but when I tried to follow up and reschedule, I got nothing but radio silence. Calls route to a generic 1-800 number, online messages go unanswered, and there’s no sense of accountability. The staff seems well-intentioned, but the constant miscommunication results in poor service. It doesn’t feel like a locally run dental office—it feels more like a large dental chain or factory focused on volume and profit rather than patient care. They are quick to pester you for Google reviews, but customer service itself is clearly lacking. I’m honestly posting this here in hopes that someone might finally respond. If you check Yelp, those reviews are far more reflective of my actual experience.

Experiencia negativa: All my filling done by them broke always a different doctor or hygienist each time ..I told them I do not want to reschedule blocked there number and there still call from other numbers for months now and schedule appointments without my permission. Will never go back there

Experiencia negativa: I’m very disappointed with this office. They canceled my appointment twice, even though they confirmed each time by phone. Both times, they called the day before to cancel, after I had already taken time off work and adjusted my schedule. This was a complete waste of my time and money. I understand emergencies can happen, but canceling twice at the last minute shows poor organization and respect for patients’ time. I won’t be coming back.

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed! Called the office at 8AM to schedule an emergency appointment. Immediately after the call I received a text giving me options to schedule an emergency appointment. I selected one and was told to come 15 minutes prior to the appointment. Appointment was confirmed. Attaching the whole conversation but taking out personal information. My husband went to the "emergency appointment" to be told oh sorry that wasnt a real appointment but we can schedule you for next week. What kind of service is this? How do you have a computer schedule an appointment just to be told it's not a real appointment? How do you turn someone away that is in excruciating pain after your phone system scheduled the emergency appointment? Very unprofessional! I will never ever go to this dentist or will recommend. I can only hope this message reaches others so it doesn't happen to them as well. You obviously do not care about your patients. See attached proof.

Experiencia negativa: I highly don't recommend this dental practice. I went in for the $57 cleaning/exam/xrays, which turned into a "Possible" cleaning based on xrays. So the xrays were taken, and the "Dentists" were making up dental plans, what i needed, just from the xrays...no exam. They said I needed crowns, and a root canal, and had a few cavities. My mom, who ran a dental school for 30 years, knows how to read xrays...looks at the xrays, I don't need anything they said I did. I didn't even have a single cavity. These dentists are QUACKS. Out for your MONEY. Basing what you need done based on BLURRY xrays, before they even do an exam is BS. The Dentist also had LONG greasy hair that wasn't pulled up. Eww.

How can you tell someone that they need to come back 4 to 6 weeks for an orthodontist appointment but give the only option of coming back in 9 weeks. I’ve had braces before and my daughter has too and I’ve never seen an office operate this way. This happens so much here! Plus there’s a host of other things. I plan I reporting them because this is unprofessional . This review was long overdue!

Experiencia fantástica: I came back today October 14 to get fitted for crowns on my Top Front Teeth. It was not painful . Dr. Issac is awesome. The staff is awesome. They are warm and friendly. Coming back next Wednesday for my permanent crowns. I came back for a 2nd visit and had my teeth Bonded and filled. The enamel looks great. And I had my mouth scanned for my mouth guard so I don’t grind my teeth as per my dentist’s recommendation! They are awesome here. Today on 09/11/25 , I came in for my mouth guard. I was shown how to place on my top teeth and how to remove it. The staff is very nice and friendly. They put me at ease. I am happy with my choice of dentist

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Dental is a hidden gem in Lyndhurst. They have a great team of ladies. Dr Isaac is a compassionate doctor who immediately put me at ease, and did a great job with 2 of my crowns. Deseray is always on top of things and will get anything approved by the ins. companies. Manush did a great job of cleaning and giving my teeth the extra sparkle. If you haven’t already I highly recommend you pay them a visit!

Experiencia negativa: I called this place 8/28 cause I was in pain with a tooth I had filled somewhere else. They said they could help me on 8/29. When I got there I had to go thru X-rays, counting of teeth and a plan for my mouth- it needs some work. Anyway after that they said they would clean my teeth and do 2 fillings. After that I was sent back out for another appt. They have an oral surgeon that comes in once a month to pull teeth. They said I would have to wait til 9/13 to have it pulled. Mind you my problems started on 8/20. Could have told me that before all stuff they did. I suggest you go to Nuvo Smile in Clifton that pulled my tooth same day. Also said one of the teeth they wanted to pull could be saved. Stay away from this place.

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT go to this place unless you want your money stolen and to be treated badly by the front desk receptionist. I booked their $57 dental cleaning special through their website. When I arrived, the receptionist couldn’t even pronounce or spell my name, made me spell it out letter by letter, then told me she had moved my appointment without my permission just because I didn’t answer a call. I waited over an hour while she was on a personal call with her managers. When I was finally seen, the dentist told me I needed other work before cleaning my teeth and refused to do the cleaning I came for. Instead, they tried to charge me $1,800, then $200, and finally insisted I pay $57 even though no cleaning was done. I had to remove things from my mouth by myself because they wouldn’t help me. The supervisor was polite but refused to refund my $57, claiming it was for X-rays and that the cleaning was “free” — even though the ad clearly says $57 for new patient dental cleaning. This is a scam. They take your money without providing the promised service. Stay away if you value your money and your dental health.

The front desk and doctor will offer and try to talk you into getting services even if you don’t need them. They are still trying to charge me for braces that I rejected because I refused to extract my molars. Thankfully I got my refund from my credit card because of if I paid in cash. It would have been a lost cause. Do not trust the blonde hair manager for the braces because she is so money hungry. She is not going to cancel your treatment plan or request the refund from “corporate”. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!

Experiencia negativa: Frustrating Billing and Customer Service Experience My wife has been sent to collections twice for bills that were already paid. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this over the phone, we were unable to speak with a manager. When we visited in person, the manager claimed to be "too busy" and made my wife wait over 30 minutes—only for the issue to be resolved in less than five minutes once we were finally helped. This lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable. Based on other reviews, we’re clearly not the only patients dealing with these issues. Dr. Dental management needs to address these ongoing problems—whether it’s billing errors or dismissive communication. A little professionalism and efficiency would go a long way.

Experiencia negativa: Front desk staff are disorganized and incompetent. Made an appointment last month for my husband, called to confirm - no appointment on the books even though I had a confirmation email. Made another for today, it was honored, surprisingly. However the wait time was insane. He was there from 1PM to almost 4PM. If you are running behind you should have the courtesy to explain this to your paying customers in the waiting room. Instead he was given excuses. They also sent me paperwork digitally to fill out for him but then still insisted he fill it out in person. It made no sense and he ended up wasting a lot of his time today.

Experiencia fantástica: I was in need of braces and from the moment I spoke to my dentist at Dr. Dental I’ve been treated with friendliness and respect. The doctor explained to me the reason for suggesting and agreeing braces were a good option for my teeth’s. I have seen a different in the shift of my teeth and the staff friendliness extends to the rest of the staff that I see every time I get my rubber band change. I really enjoy coming to the place and have no complaints. So far so good.

Experiencia negativa: this place is the worst. Orthodontist only goes once a week and books you every 4-5 months. I showed up today for an appointment I had waited 4 months for and they had cancelled it, arguing that a voicemail was left to reschedule, meanwhile they had actually called me to confirm not to cancel. What type of treatment can you get if you are not receiving regular follow ups, my Invisalign treatment was over rushed and I’m definitely not happy with it. Now I have to wait for the doctor to be n the office and no appointments until August. Take your money somewhere else, do not waste it in this dump of a place.

Experiencia negativa: Awful experience, I am going in for a crack in the tooth to solve my problem. It wasn’t hurting me. She is more concerned on marketing other products than resolving my issue. She had the audacity to tell me I need a better insurance. She was repeating twice to me.They wanted to fraud the insurance. Also, treated me like a moron assuming that I didn't understand English and telling her staff to explain in Spanish. Don’t go to any chain facilities, Preferably an independent dentist. They care about money not about you- how much can they charged to the insurance.

The dentist is extremely knowledgeable,kept me informed of all steps and very kind . The staff right from the front desk to the medical assistants were helpful and polite. Highly recommend !

Experiencia negativa: Dr. dental office was by far the worst office ! they make appointments you go there they do nothing. You always need some type of approval from the insurance before they do anything at all I went today. I called them as an emergency phone call. They confirmed my appointment for 1 PM. I went there. The door was locked, pure darkness inside and then they have the audacity to text me and ask me how my appointment went when they weren’t even there horrible very clean and nice people, but the worst service I don’t ever recommend going in there.

The ladies at the front desk as well as the Dr and assistant were all very nice. It was a pleasant environment. They were very informative and helped me to feel as relaxed as possible. I was also greatful they were able to squeeze me in same day to help eleviate the pain I was in. I recommend!!

She is respectful and knowledgeable. The dentist assistants are very kind and knowledgeable as well. The receptionists are very informative and kind also. The wait time is not long, and everyone is professional. Great place for adults and children. BTW, I love the appointment call reminders.

Experiencia fantástica: Been a steady patient for a few years now. Always get treated great. I get a little claustrophobic sometimes while in the chair and they always have tons of patience with me. They try to utilize both my insurance companies to try and keep my out of pocket low. Everything is always spotless clean and sanitized. They also have Saturday hours which is super convenient for me. Glad I discovered this place.

The braces must be adjusted every six weeks. How can I finish my procedure if they cannot see me until next January and we take into account that I have already spent more than three months without having my braces adjusted? They really don't care because I already paid for my complete treatment. I am very disappointed…

Experiencia negativa: Totally unsatisfied. There is a ad $57 for exam xray and cleaning. After xray they are saying you need more treatment and deep cleaning and night guard and saw me big estimate close to $5800. I said do only regular cleaning and they are not doing regular cleaning also. And charges same amount. For entire treatment said 5800 and when you said is too much I don’t want to do it them said give you discount and is lots. Only they are advertising to attract customers and after they decline regular cleaning. I paid $57 but again not going there. Be careful before to go.
