Experiencia fantástica: This may be long, I had an appointment on 8-3-2026, let’s just say this was one of the best dental experiences I have ever had. I suffer from uncontrollable upper body movements so going to the dentist is a nightmare. Savannah was my nurse and she was such a blessing she never left my side the whole time. Dr. Quach was absolutely amazing I never felt one thing and between her and the Dr I felt so comfortable and relaxed. My daughter also had to have 4 teeth removed in order to get braces. I will forever recommend Mountain State Oral Surgery. Thank you for making a day of fear turned into a relaxing environment with great staff and my favorite nurse Savannah!! ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I’ll be honest — going to the dentist has never been easy for me because of some past childhood trauma involving a bad experience with a needle during a dental procedure. So walking into Mountain State Oral Surgery in Beckley, WV for a tooth extraction today had me extremely nervous. But from start to finish, Dr. Quach and Nurse Linda were absolutely outstanding. Nurse Linda immediately noticed that I was anxious and did an amazing job helping calm the atmosphere. She was warm, polite, professional, and genuinely caring. She started talking with me about my day and the type of work I do at the courthouse, which helped take my mind off everything while still keeping everything moving professionally with paperwork and preparation. That simple kindness meant a lot. Then Dr. Quach came in and repeatedly checked on me to make sure I was comfortable and ready before starting. He reassured me the entire time that he would keep me as comfortable as possible and make the procedure as smooth as he could. Honestly, I barely even felt the numbing shots, which says a lot considering my fear of needles and dental work. At one point when I started feeling nervous from the pressure of the extraction, Dr. Quach quickly responded and had Nurse Linda help me relax with laughing gas, and it made a huge difference. Before I even realized it, the procedure was finished and I was getting ready to leave. Their bedside manner, professionalism, patience, and compassion were top tier. I would absolutely recommend Mountain State Oral Surgery to anyone needing dental work done — especially if you deal with anxiety or fear about dentists like I do. 10/10 experience. Dr. Quach and Nurse Linda are the real MVPs.

Helped me understand what they will be doing and let me know how much my cost would be to help prepare me to make sure my needs were properly met. My experience was pleasant and it helped me not be so nervous. Everyone was professional, friendly, and kind. The surgeon was outstanding. I’m so thankful I was able to get an appointment here for this procedure. They even contacted me afterwards to check on me to see how I was doing. That really made me feel good because they really care for their patients. I would highly recommend, if you’re having difficulty with your wisdom teeth, to be in their care. I’m very grateful.

Experiencia negativa: Procedure when fine, no complications at this point. 1 star for the surgeons presentation of the procedure, in front of my child told him that he would give him a shot, no pain after surgery, but left out that it isn't covered by insurance, sure they will give you this magic shot if you can afford to fork out almost $400 cash that insurance will not cover, made me look like a demented deadbeat to my kid for not being able to afford this magic shot. This was the most unprofessional approach ive ever witnessed, manipulative and absolutely unethical. Please take this as constructive criticism and adjust your approach, I was absolutely flabbergasted at the way this was handled, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Experiencia negativa: My son had 3 out of the 4 teeth he was referred to have gone. I have called 3 times today with no return response and this is now 48 hrs post. His gums are still bleeding and I have tried everything they recommended in the paperwork. I guess they don't respond on weekends.

From the girls in the front, the dental assistants to the Dentist himself and everyone in between that had a hand in my care. Everyone was very nice and reassuring, even the Dentist took a moment to make sure I was ok before he started bc I have such high anxiety just by being in the chair let alone what was about to happen. Positive experience all the way around. I cannot give them enough praise or gratitude for the great job that was done. I am so happy that I have a beautiful smile & beautiful teeth now., but the care I was given was exceptional. I would urge anyone needing extensive care on their mouth like I did to go here. You will be taken care of!! ❤️

Experiencia negativa: They are very rude and do not tell you everything. Told me that my 17 year old was considered still a child so I needed to be there, yet they let her make an appointment that I was unaware of. It was missed because I did not know about it and my 17 year old unfortunately is not that responsible yet and according to them ( still a child ) I will not ever go here again nor any of my kids. I have other family members as well canceling their appointments because of how they were treated as well. If you want to be treated with respect and know whats going on with your children's teeth do not take them here.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to has a few teeth cut out, and I was soooo nervous. Every single person was extremely nice to me. I spent the most time with Krista, so hers is the only name I remember. She is so perfect for her job. She is compassionate, patient with all the random questions I had, and comforted me every step of the way. I don’t remember much after I my iv was placed (which is fantastic) but my husband said I cried and hugged her before he got me in the car. Lol She is just the salt of the earth in my eyes, so I highly recommend them.

They claimed I missed an appointment back in 2021..in which I called to cancel.Mind you we’re in 2026 now..said that they had no note of that so they will not see me to pull my tooth that is infected! Guess they’d rather let their patients die apparently!

Least pain I've ever had with a major dental procedure, and only required local numbing instead of having to be sedated. Highly recommend them.

Experiencia negativa: I did not have issues with this Provider of Care until this past weekend when my daughter experienced a dry socket as a result of wisdom teeth removal on Tuesday 11/11/25. I contacted the phone number provided on the instructions given at the time of surgery, thinking that an on call Provider would be available sometime this weekend to pack the dry socket. Instead I was advised to go to the emergency room, as there is never a treating Provider who comes in on the weekends to address these issues. We went to the emergency room to only be given more pain medication. Then when I tried to fill the medication, my insurance required a ‘prior authorization’ for the medication to be covered under my insurance. The emergency room refused to provide prior authorization, citing policy to not provide such in an emergency room setting. Instead, I got to pay for the pain medication out of pocket. This is an incredible waste of time, energy, and human and financial resources. Further, my daughter had to call off work today due to the nausea she continues to experience, as well as the pain. Parents and patients: Please do your homework and ensure that the oral surgeon you choose has a contingency plan that includes an on call option if you experience complications after hours, beyond an answering service with instructions for you to present to the emergency room to obtain pain medications to get you through the weekend. This was deplorable experience. Please do better Mountain State Oral Surgery!

Experiencia fantástica: First class service from the entire office! Registration process was a breeze and the receptionist was very helpful & friendly. Everything from the examination, x-rays, surgery and recovery was explained in great detail both before and after procedure. The nurse also called later that evening to see how I was feeling or if I had any questions or concerns. I can’t praise them enough. Everyone took their time with me & I never felt rushed. I appreciated their concern as well as their willingness to listen. Their first class service is definitely unmatched from anywhere I have been to in the past.

Experiencia negativa: Went to get my wisdom teeth and 2 more Extracted not only could they only do 2 of my wisdom teeth they also broke 1 of my other teeth in the process and didn’t even feel the need to tell me. They were also very rude. Specifically the anesthesiologist had a horrible bedside manner as well as taking 4 times to get a Iv line in. Worst experience ever I will definitely not be going back or recommending anyone to them.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in totally unprepared. Didn't have my insurance card, my referral, or my X-Rays. I drove 45 minutes to get there, but they were very understanding. The dentist was very kind. She spoke with me about a topic we had in common, she explained how the process worked, and Dr. Quach also explained everything to me before they started. They were very gentle all around. Shout-out to the nurse on that painless IV by the way! I was administered my medicine and was woken up about an hour and 15 minutes later to be wheeled back out to the vehicle. She even left me a little note of encouragement. Not to mention, the work was done seamlessly. Thank you guys for being amazing at what you do! Totally wanna add that I went straight to Dunkin donuts in my post-anesthesia daze and ordered half a dozen donuts and a caramel macchiato... I still haven't eaten the donuts yet I talked my dad into it. Those meds really had me hungry lol

Experiencia negativa: The nurses weren’t professional in the room, they were having unrelated gossip type conversations while I was laying there waiting to be sedated with very high nerves and anxiety, along with swinging her hair in my face putting it in a ponytail. I specifically requested to keep my teeth after the extraction to my nurse, she responded with “yes of course” but my needs were neglected, maybe circumstances happened, but there was zero communication about it with my partner that drove me to and from the appointment. The oral surgeon I had- Jose Ravelo, walked in and slammed his clipboard on the table, and was not the most comforting. Insensitive. The aftercare instructions were pathetic as well. Very poor care overall.

The surgeon I saw was knowledgeable about other medical conditions I have and said he would do for me what he would do if I were one of his family members and recommended that I have my work done in a hospital in case a emergency situation arose because of my medical conditions. A lot of surgeons would've let their ego get in the way and would've tried doing the surgery in office anyways. I'm grateful he decided to do what was best for me even though they will miss out on making the money by referring me to WVU to have my work done. Experiencia fantástica: I was so dreading this procedure today. you see my godson Donald is autistic and he has cerebral palsy with a lot of sensory disorders and blindness and it just is not an easy thing for him. so we get to the office for our appointment, where is was getting 3 teeth taken out, we were there for a brief minute and they take him back a few minutes later and they bring him out, it’s was done. I was so pleased to see him smiling and talking. Oh and the tech Britney who was with him through the whole procedure was absolutely amazing, she was very friendly and attentive to Donald. The whole team did such a wonderful job with him it warmed my heart to see how well they treated him. It was an amazing experience for him, and I can’t thank them enough. I would absolutely recommend Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery to anyone, I want to say thank you to each and every one of them for being such kind people, and the care they provide for their was patients is above and beyond what I expected. They even called and checked on him later in the day. What a pleasurable experience it was to be treated with such kindness and respect. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE WHOLE TEAM.

With in 5 hours I was running a high fever I couldn't get my medicine filled because they didnt put my birthday in my prescription th as y was extremely rude and disrespectful. The reason I started running a fever was because they removed my teeth even though I had infection in my mouth the hospital told me that when I went to figure out why I was running such a high fever

Experiencia fantástica: A few weeks ago, I broke a lower jaw tooth. It could not be repaired by my regular dentist so he referred me to Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery. I had the tooth extracted and an implant placed. I received excellent care and highly recommend this practice.

Experiencia fantástica: Very quick and easy. Pain free as long as you take your meds as directed. Make sure to follow all the post op directions to make a fast recovery and definitely drink pineapple juice prior to the surgery date. This helped tremendously with the day of recovery.

I also have a pretty intense fear of dentist that has kept me from seeking dental care and having them removed when I was 17 (16 years ago). The entire process with Mountain State was seamless from the scheduling, check in, and procedure itself. Everyone on staff was quick, efficient, and friendly. My appointment was with Dr. Ravelo, who was very kind, and did a fantastic and quick job removing my teeth even when some of them were impacted, and so far my pain has been minimal. They sedated me quickly upon taking me in the exam/procedure room- so there wasn't much time for me to panic and get scared. I would highly recommend this office, especially to those with a fear or phobia of dental work. Thank you for the positive experience, it has given me the confidence and tools to proceed with future dental care with *less* fear, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Experiencia negativa: I was referred to here by New River health in Oak Hil, West Virginia and I had a inadequate experience here, I would NOT recommend this place at all. This is my second time coming here.. I came here to get three teeth for me removed, and the staff was acting strange about me morning to keep my tooth or take a picture of it. The lady at the front desk was rude in a condescending way and she laughed at me when I was trying to get my tooth or simply take a picture of it.

Experiencia fantástica: I am GRACE DEDMOND’S caregiver. She left a review of how she was treated by Dr. Ravelo. She had all her teeth extracted on 10/16 and was treated poorly by Dr. Ravelo. After she left the review Tiffany called and apologized for her bad experience with Dr. Ravelo. Later that day Tiffany called back with Dr. Ravelo on the line, he wanted to speak to her and apologize for her bad experience. He said that isn’t who he usually is and he let his nervousness get to him. He said he does a lot of charity work and he’s always helping people. He told her if there was anything he could do to make it better to please let him know. She thanked him and said it was ok. Later that day she got to thinking about how he said he did all the charity work and she only has softliners and they are only supposed to last 3-6 months. She has a lot of health issues including cancer and she just cannot afford any other dentures. These are the only dentures her insurance will cover. So Dr. Ravelo if you truly meant it, if there was anything you could do to help or make it better this would help. You said you did a lot of charity work and I am definitely a charity case. I cannot afford to get my permanent teeth and I know these won’t last long. I lost my teeth and smile to chemo (which I still take). I got my smile back with these temporary dentures and I know these won’t last long unfortunately. I’m all alone here in WV I have no family close by. So if you really are into charity and feel it in your heart to reach out please do. I would be forever grateful to you. Thank you and God bless you. Experiencia negativa: Went in for consultation and that was amazing. Dr. Ravelo was very nice and professional, he assured me he would treat me like family and I felt I was in good hands. I left there feeling very optimistic. Fast forward to the day of surgery. My appointment time was 11:15. I made sure to arrive early. Went in and signed in at the front desk they said they would let them know I was there. I had to wait 45 minutes to be called back. Fi ally went back at 12. Went in and met with Dr Ravelo and the nurses. I asked the nurse if she would hold my hand because I was very nervous and Dr Ravello snapped at me and said NO I NEED HER TO ASSIST ME. He began numbing my gums and then he left the room. He came back In And began pulling my teeth and he was very rough and not explaing to me at all what he was doing he was using hammers and all these strange devices. Which only made me more nervous. The nurses were phenomenal, they were explaining what was happeening and telling me I was doing a great job. One nurse even went and got another nurse to hold my hand during the procedure. He was so rough almost barbaric. I have the bruises and pictures to prove it. He was cursing in Spanish. I felt as if he was having a bad day and taking it out on me. He barely communicated with me at all. After 45 minutes of torture from him he just took his gloves off and left the room. Didn't give me any advice on How to manage my mouth after just having all of my teeth removed. The nurses explained what to expect and all that and then they walked me to the waiting room and told me if I needed anything or had any questions to please call them. The nurses were absolutely wonderful. Dr ravelo definitely disappointed me. No bedside manner and no compassion at all. Treated me extremely poor. I loved mountain state oral but I will never recommend Dr ravelo. He was horrible.

Experiencia negativa: My blood sugar was low and they said they were putting dextrose in my oh bag to take out my wisdom teeth. which dextrose is basically sugar water. and then they checkup blood sugar and it was 66. well they came back with glucose tablets and made me eat one. then proceeds to make me reschedule my appointment after they told me they were giving me dextrose.

Experiencia fantástica: Went in for consultation today feeling super nervous, left there feeling much better. The nurse I had was super sweet, she made me feel comfortable, she was absolutely wonderful!! ❤️ She has blonde hair & glasses. The doctor was just as amazing, he answered all of my questions, explained everything. I feel a lot better about what I’m going to have done after leaving there.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a wonderful experience. My 17 year old daughter was a nervous wreck, but the dr and nurse put her at ease right away. The nurse took plenty of time talking to us before the dr came in and when he did, he was very calming and had my daughter laughing in no time. All the staff were great. The environment was very clean and sterile and the after care package and medication were all we needed for a healthy recovery. I would highly recommend them.

Experiencia negativa: Rude surgeon. They were very obviously wayyyy over scheduled and behind. They were rushing me in, rushing me through the procedure and rushing me out of the door. They failed to verbally communicate with me that I had stitches in my gums (I had no idea ) Two days after the tooth removal I thought I had a piece of food hanging out of my gum and pulled the stitch out. Had they simply told me “you have a few dissolvable stitches - be careful with them” this would not have happened. In terms of the dental stuff - they seemed to know what they were doing but the communication / bedside manner was horrible .

Experiencia fantástica: The nurses were super sweet but my doctor was the best.. he’s very handsome and and sweet talking.. he made me feel great and made sure to let me know he would help me and make sure my teeth were taken care of!! THEY WERE THE BEST!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Ravelo, Susan, Chase, and all of the staff we encountered were all caring and professional while my mom was under their care, from the consultation to surgery to follow-up appointments. I would highly recommend MSOS!
