Coombs & Brewer DDS

Fantastic experience: Had my teeth cleaned which is nice. No waiting just got right in. I'm pretty new at this dental office but all my interactions have been positive with the hygienist and dentist.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Coombs & Brewer is so friendly! They really take the time to get to know their patients. Any questions are fully answered and treatments are explained. Easy to make appointments and fast check in. I highly recommend Coombs & Brewer!

Negative experience: We paid over $550 to have a chipped front tooth repaired with bonding. Insurance covered part of it, and we paid the rest out of pocket. A week later, the bonding came right off. I get that things can happen, but there’s no reason a bonded repair on a front tooth should fail after one week. That’s the whole point of doing the repair. Instead of standing behind their work, we were left looking for another dentist to fix what should have been done right the first time. When you’re charging that kind of money, people expect quality work that lasts longer than a week. We walked away feeling overcharged, frustrated, and honestly disappointed. I wouldn’t go back, and I can’t recommend them based on our experience.

Fantastic experience: They got me in fast and very pleasant staff. Also old school, filled out paperwork, no tablets techy stuff.

Negative experience: Came in with a chipped tooth, they took x-rays said they would not do a tooth rebuild or do a crown because there was not enough tooth support for it. I had the tooth recently worked on in Germany with my dentist there and am planning to go back in February to get the tooth finished with a post in the root and than a crown. I had the X-rays sent to my German dentist and she said the tooth can absolutely be saved and I should just make sure I keep it clean and avoid eating hard things around it and it will be fine. When I left the Coombs and Brewer office they did not give me any advice what to do with the tooth other than it should be pulled and an implant and that I can gladly seek a second opinion. So basically I was 146 dollars poorer from the visit and X-rays and left with great anxiety over situation and felt helpless. I will no longer go to this dentist office. I did receive an appointment immediately though so that part was positive just the bad news on their part with absolutely no advice what to do with my chipped tooth other than get it pulled or seek a seocnd opinion.

Fantastic experience: This office has been very welcoming. My Dentist has taken the time to answer any questions I have. He has taken the time to adjust my bite as my teeth improve. I have an abnormal chewing style and he works on making sure I don't have hat spots/high spots. Before I leave.

Fantastic experience: Gina has been my Dental Hygienist for years and she talks to you to understand what is happening in your mouth as well as life to insure she is able to treat any issues you have correctly. Dr. Coombs has always taken his time as well to explain things and he ensures everything feels good in your mouth before he lets you leave the chair. His assistant Teri always makes you feel at home and comfortable, as much as possible in a dentist chair. She would offer you a water or coffee if you werent at the dentist. I would totally recommend this office.

They do everything they can to emphasize prevention and no treatment is encouraged without taking the patient's opinion and financial limitations into consideration. Negative experience: Unexpected charges: ask questions before your visit. This was my first visit here and my first ever cleaning with this insurance. I was charged for full-mouth and panoramic X-rays that I was told were part of the preventive dental cleaning visit. I was not informed in advance that these X-rays would only be partially covered by insurance or that I would be responsible for a remaining balance. When I questioned the charge, the office stated that insurance only covered part of the bill and that it was not their responsibility because I signed a financial responsibility form. While paperwork may shift liability, patients should still be clearly informed of potential out-of-pocket costs before services are performed (especially when it’s a preventative service like a cleaning when there are usually no out of pocket costs) That did not happen here. Because of the lack of transparency and communication regarding billing, I would not recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: lost a front tooth veneer biting my nails. a new veneer in US runs $2000 or more. so I decided to go back to my dentist in Tejuana who put in the veneers 20yrs ago and have them brightened in a six tooth update. but I need to get a new passport which takes awhile. so yesterday Dr. combs (he had reglued another of my veneers about 4yrs ago) rebuilt the tooth using common composite bonding. result is so perfect i'm cancelling Mexico visit. at 1/10 and less the price of the Mexico trip. I've had a lot of dentists and I think Dr. combs is certainly the best.

Negative experience: I confirmed in advance with Coombs and Brewer that services would be fully covered under my insurance. Despite this, I was later billed for charges I never agreed to. This is deceptive, unethical, and borders on insurance fraud. Misrepresenting insurance coverage before treatment and attempting to collect afterward constitutes bad faith and possible legal liability. I am considering reporting this to the appropriate regulatory authorities. Proceed with caution.

Negative experience: On April 18, I had an appointment to get my teeth brightened. Luis introduced himself and I sat in the exam chair. He started by comparing tooth models to the color of mine. Shortly afterward, he proceeded to put a plastic frame/appliance in my mouth. He started the treatments. When he wanted me to turn my head left or right , he used his hand and pushed my chin in the direction he wanted. About half way through, the gums under my lower front teeth started to hurt. He kept working. When he rinsed my mouth, he would leave the vacuum device in my mouth and use his hand to shut my mouth for suction. It was probably during the last treatment and tears starting rolling down my face. He asked if anything was wrong and I tried to tell him but it was difficult to talk with the brace in my mouth. I was extremely relieved to get it out of my mouth and get home. I had 4 patches of rubbed skin in the area that hurt. I rinsed it with hydrogen peroxide for several days. I tried to get a photo (which I have included), but you need to expand it to see a few white spots. I certainly hope your other clients have not experienced this.

Fantastic experience: Coombs & Brewer DDS is a wonderful Dental Office! It begins with the front end staff, efficient, friendly, and helpful and all with a smile. Then, the dental hygienist, she greeted me with a smile, walked me through what she would be doing, and completed her tasks with the greatest of efficiency, thoroughly cleaned my teeth checking along the way that I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. Finally, the dentist, he too greeted me with a smile, took the time to go over my exrays, explained my present needs, and future care. The office is immaculately clean and the entire staff is incredible. Coombs & Brewer DDS quickly gained my faith in one visit!

Negative experience: They called and changed my appointment to an earlier time, the day of the appointment, then when I got to the location they told me they didn’t have enough time to complete the scheduled appointment. I do not feel that this place is professional nor did they seem concerned that they inconvenienced me by having me travel to their location.

If my father were still alive, I would insist he give Coombs and Brewer an opportunity to repair years of tooth decay. I have been coming here long enough to give my strongest endorsement.
