Fantastic experience: Dr. Kirby is so fabulous! My ten year old son has seen her since he was a year old; we even drive all the way in from Louisville to see her rather than switching to a closer dentist when we moved. We love her so much that my son got a kitten for his 9th birthday and named the cat Dr. Kirby after her! Cannot recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful with my son. Stayed firm enough to make sure the work got done, but was very accommodating to his fears. Very friendly and professional.

Fantastic experience: Very patient staff, were all very welcoming and made us all feel comfortable. I have dentist anxiety so trying to make sure my kids do not have anxiety when going to the dentist and they were great. My oldest has been coming here almost five years and my youngest is now a patient as well. Recommend to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr Hoetker and the staff are absolutely amazing. Hoetker opened the door to a better life for our son and his dental needs through an outpatient procedure and he is now living his best life eating and drinking like he should without issue. The nurses are very well trained and were very personable and understanding and compassionate. The doctor was nothing short of amazing, from her genuine care in our son's wellbeing, to the tears we shared telling our stories. Words just can't explain how happy and thankful we were to have crossed paths.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kirby and her staff are absolutely fantastic. They helped my newborn with a severe tongue and lip tie, which led to successful nursing. All moms who choose to nurse know how important this is. I cannot recommend them enough! Everyone at the office is wonderful!

Negative experience: My husband brought my 2 year old in and they had to wait 40+ minutes to be seen for her 0830 appointment. The appointment itself wasn't much better with the dentist commenting on how wild my toddler was - shocking with sitting in a waiting room for so long - and then not communicating with her. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: My son had a pleasant experience with this office. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming! I called the office for an exam my son needed and got in him the next day. He had restorative work that needed done that was at first scheduled 2 months out, but I was called shortly after I left the office about a cancelation and was able to take him in the next day to get the work done! Very pleased with the staff and the dentist! Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Best dentistry’s ever !!! Could not get nobody to help me with my daughter tounge tie , they are the only ones that took me seriously and done the tounge tie surgery on my infant that day . After that my daughter had no more nursing issues. There were a life saver !!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kirby is, hands down one of the most knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy pediatric dentists in Kentucky. She took excellent care of my son, and genuinely cared about my (many) questions and concerns as his mother. Our experience solidified the fact that we will trust Pediatric Dentistry of Shelbyville with our family’s dental needs moving forward. We live about an hour from the office, but would happily travel further for the peace of mind in knowing that we are in good hands. Thank you again, Dr. Kirby!

Positive experience: I will say the staff is very friendly and took great care of my son but they are not great with keeping things sterilized. I watched the lady drop prongs and the suction on the floor and pick them up and CONTINUE to use them on my child…. Didn’t wipe them off or anything…!!! Not to mention the rooms are filthy with dust and you can tell they don’t get cleaned often.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kirby first did an evaluation for tongue and lip tie and determined my son needed a revision. After taking his medical history, she made a plan that was the best option to avoid any issues. I had a couple of questions for her after evaluation in which she personally returned my call and was incredibly kind. My son’s revision went perfectly and we returned this month for his first tooth cleaning. We live almost an hour away, but will continue to use Dr. Kirby for our son’s dentistry needs.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff is wonderful. My son was scared and not happy while getting a filling, but they did everything they possibly could to make him feel at ease.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kirby is by FAR the BEST there is. She took my concerns about my sons lip tie seriously and he ended up having a tongue tie as well. She fixed it same day. We had a follow up where his tongue was starting to closed back a little and I apologized so much thinking it was my fault of not stretching him good enough. This wonderful human told me it wasn’t my fault, don’t feel bad and this is normal and why she does follow ups. She is extremely reassuring, compassionate, kind and caring. She doesn’t rush and ALWAYS has a smile on her face. She calmed my nerves and anxiety. I can’t thank her enough for giving me my baby back and listening to me. She changed our lives and my children will continue to see her for as long as possible. I can’t thank her and her team enough. I would have a million stars if I could but I’m only given 5. Thank you Dr. Kirby. Seriously. Thank you ♥️

Dr Kirby called me back quickly and continued to check on her through out the evening. She was seen in the office first thing the next day and is healing exactly how she expected. Can not say enough good things about them. Not only are they the best they genuinely care about their patients!

Fantastic experience: We were referred by our OT to Dr. Kirby. We drove two and half hours to get a consult with Dr. Kirby and do not regret it one bit. Dr. Kirby and her staff were very attentive, covered everything we needed to cover, and wr actually left with a plan! I'm extremely thankful we found Pediatric Dentistry of Shelbyville!

My toddler was absolutely losing it while we talked and they were so patient with him and weren’t bothered by the tantrum. The whole office was welcoming and helpful, and that alone eased my nerves tremendously. Dr. Kirby is absolutely worth the 2.5 hour drive, I know my kiddo is in good hands with her.
