Negative experience: Worst experience I’ve ever had at a dentist office. I tried for 6 months to get a partial, everytime I went to pick it up it was always made out of the wrong material. Went 2 months at a time when nobody from that office would call and update me, so I would finally call. They replaced a crown for me in March 2025, just to be told today by another dentist that it needs to be replaced. Just a lil over a year ago. It took me 4 months to get a refund on what I paid on my part of the partial after insurance. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!!! They also had put it on my chart that I received my partial and I DID NOT!!! That’s a crime!!!

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I am terrified of dentists- like full on panic and hypertensive crises. But Dr. Cunningham is so understanding and calming that he even makes a root canal seem like nothing. He does amazing work and treats his clients so well by actually listening and going over procedures and options when lots of other dentists are rushed and indifferent at best. The staff there are so nice and accommodating. I really can’t praise them enough. I will definitely be using them for all my future cleanings, fillings etc.

Negative experience: The worst staff I could ever work wit. They pulled my tooth and didn't even remember the doctor that did it and when I asked for a copy of my charts they said it wasn't possible because of the changing of systems. As health care professionals you should be ashamed!

Patrick, the hygienist, was kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable with excellent chair-side manner. Dr. Cunningham was helpful in isolating several issues and provided a plan to move forward. Coming here was a pleasure!

Dr Cunningham and his staff are really a step above the rest their attention to detail it's amazing, he's always thinking one step ahead for you and it makes you feel very comfortable. I had only one complaint oh my goodness, please change that radio station.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the dental hygienist he will have you laughing the whole time you're in the seat getting your teeth cleaned I really enjoy his energy. They just have the heat up in there way too hot. But we survived an hour in the seat having my teeth clean beads of sweat running down my head but life the whole time. Other than that I've always enjoyed coming to Dr Cunningham's office but 100% to the dental hygienist he was awesome

They love their jobs but love their patients just as much. I am terrified of dentist’s due to a bad past experience. Nara was so sweet and calmed my anxiety, my experience was like no other. I highly recommend their services as I was also referred by a friend.

Fantastic experience: I've had several visits here with Mr. Cunningham. He is hands down, no comparison the very best dentist i have ever been to. I had 2 root canals in one visit and felt nothing then or after! He has taken the fear out of going to the dentist for me, plus he's just a cool, laid back guy who seems to actually enjoy what hes doing. My only regret is not having him as my dentist sooner. I'd highly recommend Cunningham dental to anyone, especially those with fear of the dentist!

A huge part of this was because my hygienist Lizzy V. was so kind and comforting to me. Like a lot of people, I’m afraid of dental visits. But she kept me calm, eased my fears, and even let me hold her hand when I really needed one to hold! She truly went above and beyond taking excellent care of me! Thank you for making my experience Lizzy! And Dr. Cunningham himself also did an excellent job! As he assured me, there was no pain. He walked me through everything with kindness and compassion! Fantastic experience: I went to have two crowns and when the dentist now saved one with a filling, so ended up with a root canal and temp crown placed and a filling. So not only did they save one of my teeth, they saved me a pocket load also. Friendly, kind, and patient centered. Not only all of the above but there was a very autistic young man in there and I was so impressed with the patient and care they provided him to feel comfortable. AMAZING!!

Oh but I am now ! … Second , Dr Cunningham saved my tooth ( I was planning on a pull and leaving with a hole in my gum ) … Third , I left there knowing they all care . Fantastic experience: After three months and two separate dentists, my husband was finally able to get his abscessed tooth pulled within about 10 minutes, and at a reasonable cost. This was our first visit, but I am so impressed with Dr. Cunningham's and Nara's professionalism and skill. Even though we live about an hour away, we highly recommend this office and will be back.

Positive experience: I waited 45 minutes in waiting room. Guess they were running behind. Liszt made sure I was comfortable before dentist cam in. They were both very kind & caring. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic doctor and staff. Very caring, good communication, and willing to find solutions to difficult issues. Most recently the entire staff went above and beyond to work me in at the last minute when I was having dental difficulties with pain and getting ready to leave town. I can't say enough good things about everyone from the administrative staff, the techs, and Dr. Cunningham. Dr. Cunningham was patient and kind and worked with me until resolution of pain was found. I am so thankful for this practice.

Negative experience: I had an appointment booked for 6 months. They text me to confirm the date and time a month ahead, which I did. Two days before I received a text reminding me about my appointment. We'll, the day before I get a call from Cunningham Dental saying they have to move my appointment up two and a half hours. I told them I couldn't accommodate their request since I scheduled my appointment around my work schedule. They said that if i couldn't come in earlier they would have to reschedule. This is a profound lack of respect for a client and I explained I would be taking my business elsewhere

Fantastic experience: I am a retired nurse so very picky about office protocol. I find this office very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I will return to them for all my dental care. 5 stars do not seem enough bc I'd give them 10 stars.

Fantastic experience: So I have teeth pain and I phone usual dentist in Johnson City, they tell me they can see me in September, and it’s March now I phone Cunningham Dentist and because I was in pain, they said come tomorrow and they could help Tomorrow has come and gone, and I am pain free thanks to minus a tooth My wife who was also having teeth problems was seen as well The practice is well run, they put my fears at bay, and I would travel far to come back to this wonderful dental office in Erwin Tn

Fantastic experience: I had a routine cleaning done this afternoon. I arrived late, yet wasn't scolded. I was ushered right into the dentist chair. The guy that did my cleaning was personable and professional. I had some overdue X-rays done and was counseled about my teeth and dentition in general. So, all in all, it went as well as expected. 11/11/2024 I arrived late again, traffic was bonkers and I caught every red light coming out of Elizabethton. I stopped and called the office to inform them I would be late. There wasn't a problem. I saw Dr. Cunningham and his number 2. Impressions were taken and we were onto the prep work for my crowns. More impressions were taken with the old goo. I had a filling done then and it was time for the extraction. Dr. Cunningham did the drilling, filing down, the cavity, and then finally the extraction. I was there a while, but comfortable and even a little sleepy. This office runs like a well-oiled machine, from what a patient like myself could observe. I was set up for another appointment in December and away I went to Walgreens, which by the way is just across the street. What more could a person ask for??12/4/24 I was all set to receive my permanent crowns, BUT, I had another problem tooth to be attended to. It was involved with the permanent crown I was to receive. SO, the permanent crowns installation was postponed for a couple of weeks. It wasn't as bad as I had thought, however I was given a scrip for antibiotics--just in case it should get worse. Dr. Cunningham didn't have time to do the root canal on the newest fiasco with my teeth. However, I was scheduled for the next appointment at which time the doctor could perform the root canal, after which my permanent crowns can be safely installed. I had no dental problems to speak of until my mid 50's, so all this dental work is not something that I am accustomed to. Dr. Cunningham and his staff have treated me very well. I would recommend Cunningham Dental to anyone looking for first class dental care!!12/18/2024 Sooo....my dental saga continues unabated...the tooth in question had been treated with antibiotics and I suppose was no longer abscessed. Anyway, the good doctor and his assistant tried to exchange the temp for the permanent to no avail. The tooth required a post to be installed for stability. Thoroughness is my belief, however, I am growing steadily more depressed, not at the treatment, but the antibiotic side effects which are not pleasant. So, everything went pretty much as planned I guess. My temps came unglued and I return this morning to have them reattached. My father had problems with his teeth right up until the day he died. I hope it's not hereditary. More on the ongoing dental saga to follow...12/19/2024 So my temp crowns were reattached, quick and relatively painless. Next appointment is scheduled for 01/15/2025 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody!!!02/05/2025 So February begins with my teeth getting filed down to pegs for a future bridge. My temps are in and holding, I am looking forward to having my top Molars, Pre Molars and Eyetooth back in my head. I have had a "Jack-o-Lantern" smile for a minute(more actually) due to insurance limitations. Without my insurance, I don't know where I'd be. Miserable and toothless, I suppose. Anyway, hope springs eternal, I am looking forward to having a confident smile once again. I had the A-team working on me today, Dr. Cunningham and his #1 assistant Amy gave me me top notch care as always. My mouth is a bit sore, I am laying the Goody Powders to my hide. I am sure all will be well in a day or so. More to come........stay tuned!!02/27/2025 I finally got my permanent teeth. I am really stoked, it's been a long time coming. My visit went very well, I got me some teeth!!!

Before I started going here I didn’t really like going to the dentist but now I actually look forward to my dental appointments. Dr. Cunningham and his staff are amazing! There’s nothing negative I have to say about this place and I 100% recommend Cunningham Dental in Erwin Tennessee.

Fantastic experience: Was greeted by a very welcoming handshake from Heather. I felt comfortable with her at once. She made sure I was at ease throughout the cleaning. She was very polite and considerate. She was concerned about my high blood pressure, and I told her I would monitor it once I got home. Just to let her know, I took several readings and all were around 140/85. Thank you Heather for caring.

Negative experience: People were very nice, but they refused to do a regular cleaning on my teeth. Insisted that only a deep cleaning could be done, which is money out of my pocket. I have had my teeth cleaned every six months at a different dentist. This is the first time I have been refused my regular cleaning. I don't think my teeth would fall out if I had a regular cleaning. Money, money, money!
