Negative experience: 80 dollars for a no show. No thank you very much. Won’t see my money from insurance anymore . I needed an implant . But now I will look for another dentist .

Negative experience: My first and last visit. The Dr interrupted the hygienist in the middle of my cleaning to “ go over my treatment plan” a proposed $9250 repair estimate. The cleaning did not get finished, after the Dr. gave his sales pitch the hygienist flossed me and sent me on my way. $120 cleaning, $137 oral evaluation exam, and $165 X-rays, out of pocket expense of $421 preformed in under one hour. I left there feeling extremely ripped off and as if my teeth were never cleaned. I do not recommend Dr Hargrove or Hiawassee Family Dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr Hargrove is so thorough, efficient and thoughtful. He and his team are so organized! I could see they went out of their way to make me comfortable and answered all my questions. I was so concerned since Dr Worthy, who is amazing, retired but he definitely found an outstanding replacement!

Negative experience: We have been very impressed with Dr. Hargrove. He is a gifted dentist. But unfortunately we experienced just too many rude responses from Sheila, the woman who runs the front office. If we showed up before the posted opening time we were forced to wait outside in the weather even though we could see employees milling around inside. Their position on that was explained in surprisingly blunt terms. We also found out their policy on cancellation fees is contradictory and nonsensical, and in our case was deployed without compassion. After a number of such encounters we have decided to take our business elsewhere. Even worse, no one at the corporate office in Knoxville would talk to me. I wanted to at least discuss these things with them and give them a fair opportunity to respond before posting this review, but I never heard back after leaving a number of voicemails.

Fantastic experience: The staff on all the phone calls prior to me showing up for my initial visit were incredibly kind. Very, very friendly and the dentist also was very clear with his communication and friendly. I got nothing but good to say so far. I have an appointment to get some serious work done and I have no doubts will go as described.

Fantastic experience: One minute a problematic tooth was in my head, the next minute it's thrown in a trash bin somewhere. 10/10 would do again but hope I don't have to.

Fantastic experience: As far as dentists go this was a great experience. I had to have a molar extracted and a stich put in. And I never felt any pain or discomfort at all. I wasn't even aware the tooth was out until the assistant asked me to bite down on some cotton gauze! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hargrove and his entire staff.

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth that needed pulled, I went to another dentist in the area and he wanted to send me to an oral surgeon in Chattanooga. The oral surgeon never called in a week, I called Dr. Hargrove's office the got me right in the next day, Dr. Hargrove pulled the tooth that day. You will never find another dentist more caring and professional as Dr. Hargrove. One side note, he is the only dentist that has given me a shot of novacaine without pain.

Negative experience: Mother with dementia went in for 4 cavities came was sent home after an hour of work done and only two fillings. I was clear with dentist that it is not easy getting her to appointment. He just wanted to reschedule. It is not that easy for me as I take care of two with dementia. Also the office does not file Humana insurance. More work for me to do.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and organized office. Friendly and competent staff. Providers also have excellent communication and dental care skills. Great job with support and multiple care options. Listen to patient and their requests.

Aspen dental left me high and dry… these folks at Hiawassee Family Dental got me right in & extracted a decaying tooth that should have never had a root canal in the first place by Aspen Dental. The doctor and assistants at Hiawassee Family Dental are the real deal.

From my first conversation on the phone, (can't believe I actually got a call from my online question) to going through two extractions, I was treated so kindly, we laughed and joked, the hygienist was so comforting to me during the procedure..... And the dentist.... Well let's say, I felt like he knew exactly what he was doing, and I was in good hands. Now, I know I have found my new dental team! From front desk to dental chair, I was in good hands!

Fantastic experience: I received a call about an opening in the Dr schedule which moved me 2 weeks earlier than my original appointment. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was taken back quickly. Great painfree services.

I quit going here 5 years ago after Dr Worthy retired, IYKYK, but in coming back for a much needed visit, I found that the Office is now taken over by an Intelligent, Engaging, Informative Individual by the name of Dr Hargrove! I am even allowing my husband to come back here too! I am Very Very Pleased and Confident in Dr Hargrove and mightily encourage Both Old and New patients to either come back or give him a try, as he is highly knowledgeable and Very Caring. Fantastic experience: Dr. Hargrove is the best dentist I've had. Another dentist told me I needed a root canal and wanted to refer me 2 hours away. Dr. Hargrove discovered the reason for the sensitivity was a recent poorly done crown. He replaced the original crown and the problem was solved. He is the only dentist I have heard of in our area who handles root canals and other complex dental procedures. No need to travel 2 hours! He spends a lot of time with the patient and really knows what he is doing. The staff is also very nice. Highly recommended!

Positive experience: I arrived 10 mins early as most people i assume do , signed in ,and was asked by receptionist if the door was unlocked? That's how I got in so yes , instead of saying oops we forgot to lock it you can sit in reception area but all are at lunch ril 2 , I was asked to go back outside in the 90 degree heat for ten mins til they were ready , I thought that very unperfessional , also the entire staff could use a little compasion towards those of us who may be a bit uncomfortable going to the dentist to begin with .sorry but I will not be recommending anyone . 1 last thing , the dentist should not be having a billing conversation with one of the workers there while I was in the middle of getting tooth pulled, he actually stopped working on me and carried a 2 minute conversation on with her before finishing me up .

Negative experience: It was terrible. I did not like his attitude, and he has no empathy to the pain I was going through. He only wanted to lay blame on me. It was total torture and I won't be coming back there. Plus the price is outrageous.

Since retiring years ago, and being a Senior citizen, disabled, and on a fixed income , and without dental insurance since retiring, the office was able to set up a good payment plan. Fantastic experience: Words cant express how grateful I am to have found Dr. Hargrove and his staff. You are not just another number in line for them. The professionalism, expertise and compassion far exceeded my expectations. I had been under the care of another dentist who turned out to be very negligent. Dr Hargrove’s findings were that areas had not been properly treated and several other areas of concern were never even recognized by the other dentist. Dr Hargrove has given me an in depth explanation of my treatment plan and has made me feel secure being under his care going forward. I have not once been rushed in and out of his office. He has been very attentive to my questions and concerns after neglect at a different office and ensures me that under his care , I will not have that type of experience again. I am very impressed by this team and I am more than satisfied with the treatments I have already received.
