Fantastic experience: The entire staff were very professional through the entire process and punctual to scheduled appointment time. Well pleased.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. The dental hygienist was late for my appointment, which was frustrating. What concerned me even more was being told that I suddenly needed a deep cleaning, despite never having had significant issues with my teeth or being told this by previous dental providers. The experience left me feeling like the recommendation was financially motivated rather than clearly explained or supported. I did not feel comfortable moving forward with an expensive procedure without a better explanation of why it was necessary. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to costly treatment here. Unfortunately, I left feeling that this office was more focused on generating revenue than earning my trust as a patient.

Positive experience: Temporary crown fell out less than 24 hours since placement. The temp crown was replaced the next day. The crown was remade and was a better fit.

Athens Family Dental fit me in and Doctor Hansen and Ann were able to put a temporary crown on for me. They are my Angels. Now my smile can come with me once again.

Positive experience: The staff was very nice and the dentist was also . But there was only one thing wrong. I've never in my life had to pay anything. When I went to check out. I was told I had a payment. Which surprised me! I honestly don't think they filled my insurance right.

Fantastic experience: I was HIGHLY satisfied with my first visit to Athens Family Dental. I was scheduled for a routine cleaning but the night before my appointment I had an old filling break and fall out. Even though they were booked for the day Dr. Hensen saw I was having some discomfort and squeezed me in to correct the filling. I really appreciate her kindness and dedication to her clients. I can't remember my hygenest's name but I LOVE HER! She was so sweet and very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and has a very welcoming personality. I had been looking for a new dental practice for a while, I’m very thankful that I found Athens Family Dental.

Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best in Athens, I went to a big box dentist in Athens and the tried telling me I needed to get top dentures and all this other stuff and was going to be 15k after insurance. Well I go to Athens Family Dental and they fixed the tooth in question and another one and hasn’t cost me anything out of pocket. I highly recommend Athens Family Dental if you’re looking for a honest, caring dentist!

Negative experience: Absolutely do not use. Scheduled appointment for tooth extractions, charged my insurance for X-ray and consultation, just to be told the dentist does not do extractions. Told me to go to Afford Dentures.

Fantastic experience: First visit: I was greeted by sounds of delighted laughter when entering the business for the first time. The staff was welcoming and professional. Emily was my hygienist. She welcomed me to the Athens area, and offered suggestions for social outings, while she did an excellent job preparing my x-rays and cleaning my teeth. My dentist was very busy. But she still greeted me with a smile. She gave two compliments on my teeth, but was very thorough and serious when making her assessment. I was extremely pleased with my first visit! See you in six months! Emily has continued to be a delight 2 years later. She is a perfectionist on cleaning and takes such good care of our teeth. I walked in and was seen within ten minutes. The front desk staff all know us by name and face and are great organizing care and insurance. Thanks for taking care of our family and being so kind and gentle with my 94 year old mom.

Fantastic experience: This morning, one of my molars cracked and fell out. I needed a new dentist so I called Athens Family Dental. They had a cancellation and had me in their office in 30 minutes. The staff, including the dentist, were kind, thorough & so helpful. I appreciate their care so much and recommend them to everyone. As a side note, the first dentist office I called, which was closer to my home, told me that their first available appt was on July 2nd!

Positive experience: Like Dr. Alaina and her assistant very much. Overall, it was fine but I felt misled because I called Friday due to a tooth feels strange and the pain is coming and asked if i could get antibiotics for the infection they saw last time. The endodontist cannot do the work for 3 weeks. I'll be moving my son in 3 weeks. So this office said I could come Monday to xray and see if I needed antibiotics for the infected tooth. I came by and they told me to come back Tuesday so I did. But, they didn't prescribe it. I called and asked if they were going to but they said they were not because I need to have it dealt with. I do but the endo can't do it for 3 weeks. So, I sure hope this infection doesn't spread to my brain like I've heard they can. I have been having headaches now... they told me to alternate between motrin and acetaminophen. Pain meds for 3 weeks?!?! Stomach and liver issues to come and will likely find another doctor that can help more quickly. Misled about antibiotics butbthe good news is they said there was no charge for this follow-up.

Fantastic experience: I took a bad fall and chipped a front tooth. The dentist I had been using was, unfortunately, no longer available. I found Athens Family Dental through an on-line search. I did not have to wait longer than five minutes, and all the staff was very courteous and kind. They performed the procedure quickly and efficiently. The quality of the repair is impressive. I highly recommend.

Positive experience: The staff were incredibly friendly! After the scheduled appointment time, I waited 25 minutes in the waiting room. Then someone came to get me and seated me in the chair, then disappeared. Another person came 10 minutes later to put a protective bib on me, then she left. 45 minutes later, the dentist arrived to adjust my temporary appliance, which took him 2 minutes... for a total of $221. For that price, you deserve an apology for your patience!!! I recommend this practice if you have time to waste.

Fantastic experience: I had a crown put in. The experience both for prepping and install was fantastic. They made sure I was comfortable and concerned at all times that I was not feeling any pain. Also, never felt the needle when they numbed my mouth.

Positive experience: Everything was good until I went in for my cleaning. While I def needed one sense it was about a year sense my last. The hygienist could tell that the deep clean she did was extremely painful for me. And did not offer the numbing gel to easy the discomfort. I was almost in tears from the pain. Apart from that everyone is nice. The place seems like a good environment. Just wish my comfort was considered more.
