I am retired and have spent a lifetime seeing dentists for just about every dental procedure - cleanings, extractions, crowns, implants, fillings, and cosmetics. I had not been to a dentist in quite some time and Dr. Madsen’s office was able to get me scheduled quickly. The entire staff was wonderful! Very kind, polite, professional, and nice! Maddy was particularly delightful! Dr. Stephen Madsen is a great dentist! He personally cleaned my teeth, checked over my X rays, and did a thorough exam. He was able to explain some things I had going on and put my mind at ease that they were nothing to be concerned about. I felt very comfortable and truly felt that I received great dental care! I don’t have dental insurance and I thought they were very reasonable and they also offer a cash discount. My husband has an appointment with Dr. Madsen next week and I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone looking for a great dentist! I’m very happy to have him as our new dentist!

I contacted the office around 11:30 pm by email and Alicia got him a 1:00 appointment the next day. Dr. Madsen was extremely professional explaining what options were available and repaired my husband's tooth the same day. His tooth actually looked better than it did before! The whole process was pain free and seamless. Dr. Madsen is a great dentist and communicates well with his patients. We were fortunate to find him and recommend him!

I’m a handful and he had every answer! He is a kind and wonderful soul! I feel so cared for that I am looking to switch insurances so I can be in-network with them! If not, I hope to go to them in the future and am willing to pay out of pocket for their care because I appreciate them so much! Trust me, private practices r a different world from company dental practices!! Also, shoutout to the whole staff!! They answer the phone so fast and Alicia helped quickly schedule my emergency for the next day and Dr. Stephen and her even offered enough time for an emergency procedure in case it came to it!! I asked for a quote with them, using Aetna PPO insurance and they were kind enough to do that to give me peace of mind! (I did not have out network coverage, however, so always do a predetermination or call your insurance first before any payment(s) and procedures). Not all places r kind enough to go through the trouble of running quotes with you on the spot! I believe it only took around 15 minutes to run it with my three-page treatment plan, then I was on my way to compare my options. They were all so diligent, efficient, and informed with my circumstances, needs, and requests! I had many hypothetical questions and major insurance questions as I am new to adult dental insurance (differs from medical). Thank you Dr. Stephen, Alicia, Shannan, and Bridgett!!! People like you make Chico feel like home!

I was surprised to find so many practices in a small town owned by private equity, shockingly expensive and unwilling to see someone without dental insurance. I have good teeth, I’ve never carried dental insurance. Dr. Madsen’s office was happy to let me pay out of pocket, took the time to get to know me, had a convenient electronic pre check in method and were very reasonably and fairly priced for their services. Fantastic experience: Dr Madsen took me in the same day my crown popped off my back molar. I was so relieved that he took the time the same day to see me! He and his assistant Maddy did an excellent job of examining and re-cementing my crown back in place. I think we’ve discovered a gem of a dentist in Dr Madsen.
