Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist, Lorrie, was as usual friendly and efficient.

Fantastic experience: Got me in very quickly and the staff were wonderful. In and out the door to repair a chipped tooth in 30 minutes.

Fantastic experience: My wife had a molar that the crown broke along with part of the tooth. They were kind enough to accept her as a patient with only a day notice. All went well. Thanks. Now we can continue our vacation. If we ever have another dental emergency, we will definitely come here for a solution.

They get you in in a timely manner, they even called me to offer me one of their cancellations. When I arrived the staff was very professional and pleasant. I was brought back quickly. I saw the dentist very quickly. He was impressively professional. Very good at his job, this man. I was in and out quickly without feeling rushed. When I cracked my front teeth thousands of miles from home, Dr. Bob took my phone call and recommended a dentist that a temporary solution. His office also scheduled a appointment so upon my return home they swiftly initiated a permanent repair. His assistant, Annette, is equally thoughtful and professional as his team carefully repaired my teeth so they function and look as if they never were broken. His office uses state of the art equipment, resulting in painless x-rays and their lifelike models gave me teeth that feel and function as good as they look.

Positive experience: First of all Kayla the scheduler is amazing, friendly, understanding and works really hard to make appointments that work for you. Dr. Chalgren was amazing, I had emergency appointment, infected wisdom tooth needed to be pulled, absolutely no pain. Dental Assistant (dont remember her name) was supportive during procedure and professional but not overly friendly and I was super nervous. The most negative thing I can say is about the front desk reception. They were very cold and distant, not what you want representing the office upon entering, or after your appointment when checking out . If it wasn't for front desk reception I would have rated the experience a 5, but I still would recommend Dr. Chalgren. Thank you for quick appointment and another shout out to Kayla in scheduling.

Negative experience: I have never written a review on anything ever but let me tell you, my first visit was horrible. My literal first interaction with these people. They gave me the anesthetic for fillings only to tell me they couldn’t do it because someone neglected to view my insurance. Walked out with half of my face numb for no reason. The dentist told me “if I would’ve known you were with (insert insurance), I wouldn’t have done it”. He didn’t even explain anything about my x-rays or how the filling would go until after the anesthetic was done. Absolutely terrible place. This part might be nitpicking but he’s also stingy with the water rinse and try’s to speed run through the appointment (probably so you don’t ask any questions… he couldn’t answer mine). This is my first time going to Dr. Chalgren’s dental office-Upon entering, the staff was welcoming and had the information about my appointment and the forms that I had Filled out online-They were very organized. Dr. Chalgren was very personable interested in my dental care … in the past as this was my first appointment with him and went over teeth cleaning, Teeth sensitivity, Past history and my continued care during the summer months… We also talked about Dr. Chalgren being very familiar with the area … And the residents Of Houghton County and the surrounding counties… Each of his assistance knew about my x-rays that were sent to the office from my out-of-state dentist which also was very helpful that I did not need to pay for x-rays again…

Fantastic experience: A crown I had made and put on downstate by another dentist had come off. Dr. Chalgren's office was kind enough to find an appointment quickly where Dr Chalgren reattached the crown. I'm very appreciative of the care and service I received. Today I had my routine 6 month check up. I was thoroughly impressed with the check up. The dental hygienist not only did a careful job in checking my teeth but did it pain free. They also checked inside my mouth looking for anything out of the ordinary plus check-in neck and thyroid areas for irregularities. I left the appointment feeling highly confident that everything is fine. Thank you. I had my 6 month cleaning today. Laurie does such a fabulous and thorough job. She doesn't rush and is meticulous with her approach. She also gives me good feedback and tips to follow. I couldn't be more pleased.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chalgren took care of an emergent dental situation when I had just moved to the area. He is always friendly, supportive, and leads with positive energy. I appreciate the efforts they have taken to be able to schedule patients closer to a six month time frame between cleanings, difficult in a less populated area. I spend a good amount of time in the Chicagoland area and alternate cleanings to be at max at six months (in the past I've been advised to consider cleanings at four months). While they have a waitlist system where they will text everyone openings as they come up, needing to respond to a text/email within moments of it coming sparks anxiety and can be challenging with work meetings and travel. I would pay a fee to be on a first-call list where a spot is reserved for me for 24 hours. Grateful to have this practice in our community!

Fantastic experience: Rapid repair of a filling that had fallen out. Managed to get an appointment on the same day I called. Repair was fast and expertly done with no strange bite afterwards.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chalgrin is a skilled dentist. He has done some difficult work for us and we are very happy with the results. I cannot recommend him highly enough.  Sandy, one of the hygienists at this office, is wonderfully thorough and gentile. She is a wonderful human all around. Both of these individuals have earned a loyal customer. To top it off the office clean and modern with new low radiation digital equipment.

Fantastic experience: Three awkward cavities filled. Front tooth had a visible cavity, then resurfaced beautifully. Desk staff and dental pros all very nice, all totally skilled. Very happy, relieved to have found a great dental clinic!

Positive experience: It is a very nice dentistry with very well services. A little bit of space needing improvement is that the front desk can give more precise instructions on what documents and materials I shall bring to my first appointment. Overall, CCPD is a very nice dentistry for dental treatment.

Everything was explained well to me, and I always feel very comfortable there no matter what work I might have to have done.

Always nerve wracking having to go to the dentist, but this has been my favorite place to go and I don't plan to ever change. They do Fantastic work and Quickly. Negative experience: UPDATE: in addition to the below experience, this dentist told me I needed two fillings. Because of my first experience I refused to go back and waited six months to finally get in to see another dentist in town who told me I had no cavities and absolutely do not need any fillings. I was shocked to know unnecessary dental work had been suggested. My first visit the dentist actually forgot about me for 30 minutes. He admitted it when he came back in the room. He said, “Oh, I forgot about you and had moved on to something else.” He was rather rough during my procedure for getting a crown and pretty inconsiderate of the fact that there was a person connected to the lips he was squishing and the mouth he was digging in. I was going to let that go and just deal with it bc let’s face it, the dentist is never fun anyway. But then today I went back for my permanent crown to be put on and when I left I looked in the mirror to see that I now have a gold tooth. I was told he doesn’t do porcelain white ones but that it would be kind of off white. I straight up have a gold tooth. So now I have to either deal with having a giant gold tooth in the back of my mouth or argue with them about his dishonesty in the first place and then sit through having the crown pried from my tooth and redone.
