Fantastic experience: I visited Safari Dental for my daughter’s tooth extraction. We were quite anxious due to a previous bad experience with our elder daughter with other dentist, but Dr. Choi handled everything exceptionally well. The procedure was very smooth, and my daughter did not experience any pain or discomfort. I especially appreciate Dr. Choi and team for their wonderful job. Also, Dr. Choi does not prescribe unnecessary medications. I highly recommend Dr. Choi for pediatric dental care.

Negative experience: Referred by our primary dentist to be seen for our child to get a tooth fixed under medication as she was young. The original referral was for one year ago and due to scheduling conflicts we got in finally in January- did X-rays and agreed on the treatment plan our primary dentist had sent. Since then, she had a cleaning after that initial appt and her primary said since it had been a year, she had lost a few teeth and her original treatment plan needs had changed some, they sent the new images to safari smiles and said when we came for treatment to let them know and have them take a look. Arrived for appt today, they had the original treatment plan for signature and I had just mentioned what our primary dentist said, she says hold on to it and go speak to the doctor and we'll see. They put us in a room, he comes in and instead of even allowing us to explain what our primary dentist had told us to tell them, he says that we should agree to disagree on the treatment plan and since we don't trust or respect his opinions we should not be seen there. We tried explaining that that was not the case at all, our primary had just asked to take a look again since she had lost so many teeth and make sure that's still what we should do. He then says well if you're still seeing the dentist who referred you I still stand by it, we like continuity of care and if you're seeing someone else, that won't work. We tried to explain again, as we thought that was normal to follow with a regular dentist for cleanings and get referrals for extra treatment/care, especially as it was well over an hour for us one way here. Dad tried to explain one more time we weren't second guessing his opinion we just wanted to ensure that was still the best plan of treatment to which he then says "well I can look but I guarantee nothing has changed" I then decided he was not putting his hands anywhere near her mouth and we left. Will never return.

Fantastic experience: The nurses and the dentist did an amazing job with my son. He is so terrified of going to the dentist. When he came out from getting his tooth pulled , he was smiling and saying that he would go back again. Thank you everyone for making my son's visit to go smooth.

Fantastic experience: Everyone from receptionist to dental hygienist, dental assistants and doctor Choi are so helpful, nice and caring. The waiting room always has awesome kids movies on and train table for kids to play and relax. This is by far the best children dentist we’ve ever been to. My kids who are typically anxious about doctor and dentist visits are completely calm when they come to Safari Smiles and they always leave with an awesome balloon. I recommend this practice to every parent that has kids. We drive 45 mins to be there because it’s more than worth it. Thank you all for taking care my kids.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Choi and his team are very caring and professional. They took a lot of time to explain to my grandson what they were doing step by step, went out of their way to make him comfortable and removed his bad tooth with zero pain. He gives them 5 stars and two thumbs up!

Fantastic experience: I’m so thankful for the care we received from this dental office. When my daughter had a toothache and fever, I called the emergency line and was able to speak with the dentist immediately. He was calm, polite, and very understanding, and he even sent in an antibiotic since she had to wait until the next day to be seen. At her appointment, my daughter was treated professionally and respectfully. The entire experience made a stressful situation much easier, and I highly recommend this office.

Negative experience: Incredibly disappointed with this practice. I always thought they were amazing until a family member had to deal with them. It seems very apparent they want financial gain rather than making it a comfortable/memorable experience for a child. Growing up I had an absolutely awful dentist. I was traumatized until finding an amazing one as an adult. I highly recommend getting a second opinion instead of having work done at this clinic!!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about the team at Safari Smiles. They are all so kind, patient, helpful, and understanding. My daughter loves coming here. They go above and beyond to make sure she is cared for, feels safe and secure. They talk her through her treatments and the dentist is hands down the best in our area! We came here after some hiccups with other dentists and I’m so glad we did.

Not once did Lily cry nor was she scared. Upon getting home Lily said I want to go again. I said yes you will get to go one more time for them to finish what they need to but unfortunately Lily our insurance doesn't work there. I said we have to go to a different place. It was then for the first time that she cried. Thank you to this amazing team for making her first time to a dentist very enjoyable even though she had to have teeth removed she still wants to go back. Great job. Thank you so much for getting us in so quickly. She needed things done and unfortunately we couldn't get her in to the other place until months down the road. If you need to take a child that is afraid I'd highly recommend Safari Smiles.

Dr. Choi helped tremendously when my son unfortunately had a broken front tooth & went above and beyond. I wouldn't take my kiddo anywhere else. Best pediatric dentist.

Fantastic experience: My two kids have been going to Safari Smiles since they were infants. I’m consistently impressed with the ways they connect with my kids and put them at ease. My kids have no fear of the dentist because of their experiences at Safari Smiles! My daughter had a fall when she was 2, and there was some slight damage to her teeth. The team remembered and checked her each time to make sure that no damage happened to her permanent tooth. She was fine and they took great care of her.

Fantastic experience: They have two locations, but we always visit the one in Corning. My daughter absolutely loves going to the dentist, and it's always an enjoyable experience for her. We have zero billing complaints, which is an essential aspect of visiting any dentist today.

Fantastic experience: It's not easy finding a comfortable dentist with a nonverbal autistic young child. This place has made a difference for us and my little one is actually happy when coming here. They are so kind, patient and gentle! Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Had a great first time dental visit with 4 y/o. The hygienist, Courtney, has a great personality and did great with my 4 y/o. The doctor was very nice as well. Balloon animal was given at the end of the visit. I highly reccomend Safari Smiles!

Negative experience: If I could leave a review for this business with out leaving them a star I would in a heart beat. The experience we had today was absolutely awful. Not only was the Dentist extremely rude,  the hygienist was not willing to answer any of the questions I had for her pertaining the care plan for my child and kept stating she didn’t understand why I have questions! We were told that there needed to be an extraction on a tooth, however they couldn't give any answers as to why other than Dr. Choi said " I think I see root decay". Then quickly changed to the Dr. saying that it was abscessed. Were seen 4 months prior to this for a cleaning and that is when the extraction was brought up. I denied having the extraction done until we got a second opinion.  So you mean to tell me my child has a tooth with an apparent abscess for 4 months but you never mentioned it before and that there is and infection that has caused absolutely no pain or discomfort or any other signs of infection and that if it was abscess, you did not issue any medications to treat the infection within those 4 months? I don’t know about anyone else but if you have had an abscess tooth you know it! You are in excruciating pain, and you cannot pull a tooth until the infection is gone. We were also told a filling had fallen out at our last appointment, but today I was told not we were brought back in to have a crown placed. That is NOT what was explained to us at all previously. We were told that it was a filling and that the DR. was going to fix it "free of charge". To then later only be handed a paper that stated it was in fact not "free of charge" there were numerous other charges along with a balance due today for the appointment that was never discussed. As a parent I asked very simple questions to both the Dr. and the hygienist as to what the plan of care was for this appointment so I could fully understand why this extraction was happening, and I was met with short non explanatory answers. Moving forward I was then able to speak to the Dr. directly and again asked the same question of what tooth and what the issue was. I was then met with frustration for voicing concern as to what was actually being done.  After multiple times denying the extraction until we get our second opinion. Dr. Choi VERY unprofessionally turned to me and said " I FEEL THERE IS TRUST ISSUES HERE". . I then stated that I was very uncomfortable and was getting the second opinion because I felt that there was nothing wrong with the tooth in question. It also being a baby tooth that was not causing any pain or discomfort there was not a reason to have it pulled. Choi very quickly was irritated about the second opinion and then stood from the stool and ripped his mask down and said "I think we need to end this relationship here and you need to leave my office".  I immediately went to the front desk and asked for all of the records pertaining to any and all things that were done on my child. I highly recommend not taking your children here, unless you want an office that cares more about the financial gains then the well being and care of your children. We have spent thousands of dollars for what? Work that was not needed. Trust you gut when it comes to your children! So disgusted with this experience.

Fantastic experience: After experiencing difficulty with our current provider, I reached out to multiple dentists for help with my daughter's braces but no one was willing to see her because she was not their patient, or they didn't specialize in orthodontics. She had a wire break loose from her braces and it was stabbing her in the cheek, Dr. Choi agreed to see her and got her in to see him in just a couple hours. Dr. Choi was kind, and explained everything. He was able to fix her wire and graciously sent her home with extra supplies. He even offered to see her again if anything more happens before we can get into a new orthodontist. We are very grateful for Dr. Choi's help.

The moment you walk in the door we were greeted with a smile and made to feel at home ♥️ My child had to have oral surgery done (he’s 7) and he was made me to feel so comfortable and relaxed joining this whole situation… I thank the staff and Dr. Choi a 1,000x over for taking such amazing care of him

Negative experience: Really expensive. $480 for teeth cleaning on two kids. Corning Dental is $80 per kid. We’re talking basic cleaning. No X-rays or additional services.

Fantastic experience: I would absolutely recommend Safari Smiles to anyone, but especially if your child has medical anxiety. They do great work and have an incredible bedside manner. Plus, my daughter is thrilled to get a balloon animal at every visit!

Fantastic experience: After a terrible start with his teeth & a different dentist, we found Safari Smiles, and now 6 year old grandson has no "white coat syndrome" and no fear of the dentist or cleanings. Dr. Choi fixed a mouthful of problems in such a caring and calm environment, and the staff built a trusting relationship with him. It felt like a miracle to me, to see a child so terrified become at ease with a process he will have to face all his life, and which we were afraid had been ruined for him. Thank you to all the staff and also for establishing the same trusting cheerful calm atmosphere for my 3 year old grandson.

Negative experience: Safari Smiles: If you want a place that puts their financial gain over the welfare of the children they are supposed to care for, this is the place for you!! After going for here for 3 years and having nothing but amazing experience with the hygienists who are all the sweetest and most patient people ever, Dr. Choi lived up to his reputation. Glad I had a warning and trusted my gut to get a second opinion. After my son had his bi-annual appointment, I was informed that there is some work that needed to be done that included cavities on two different teeth, a caries arresting treatment to one minor cavity and a stainless steel crown. All of which would total $1590. I was in shock that in six months time, so much work would be needed. Went to get a second opinion after the X-rays from Safari Smiles was transferred to the new dentist. The new dentist, after reviewing the SAME X-rays, found only a small cavity that she used the caries arresting treatment on. The tooth that Dr. Choi said needed a stainless steel crown on? Absolutely nothing wrong with it! The small cavity he did have was not on the tooth that was so bad Dr. Choi claimed needed to have the crown installed. Please do your kids and your wallet a favor and find another place that will put your kids first

Fantastic experience: I would like to speak from my heart and soul. Dr Choi is beyond phenomenal.✨We are not from the area. And just before the procedure he gave us a call and made us feel like we were family, treating my daughter with exceptional care and compassion. The entire staff Comforted me when all I could do was cry. The gratitude that I felt from the moment we walked into the office. The love that was shown to me and my family. Is beyond words. Clear communication during the entire procedure exceeded my expectation. They explained every detail and the office makes you feel at home literally. Because I dozed off. . We could feel that we truly picked the right place to put a smile on my daughters face that is definitely safari smiles P.S my daughter must of knew that she was going to be well taken care of she picked up Dr Choi flowers and a thank you card. Fantastic experience: We love Safari Smiles! Maisey started coming here a few years ago and had tons of anxiety. They worked with her at each visit and she was able to get X-rays she needed at her last visit because they took their time and made sure she was comfortable with everything they did.

Fantastic experience: Recently new to the area and had a hard time finding a provider for our youngest. We have had 2 appts at this location so far. Minimal wait times. The staff communicates well when there is a delay. All of the staff have been friendly and professional. The dentist was great. Cannot recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: I had to bring my 3 month old daughter here for a lip and tongue tie. They made everything very comfortable and reassured me that everything would be okay. The procedure was very quick and they did amazing with my daughter! The staff are very friendly and do an amazing job! I will definitely be bringing her back once her teeth come in!

Fantastic experience: We love Safari Smiles, Marcia has been the best dental hygienist ever, really has been understanding and helped build confidence in my kids, making the trips to the dentist a breeze, Dr. Choi is so kind and great at explaining what is the best action for my kids teeth. Fantastic experience: When my 11month old dare devil son had his third mouth injury in a row, I called Safari Smiles and they were able to schedule us an appointment with the doctor right away. While at the appointment, all the hygienists were super friendly and helpful during the whole exam. Going anywhere with two kids 2 year old and under, but I always feel comfortable taking my kids to the dentist! My oldest son was upset that he wasn’t getting his teeth cleaned but was happy to play with the train table in the lobby. I absolutely love this dentist for my kids and am so happy I found this spot.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever, avoid them! They provided incomplete work, didn't call back to clarify and explain the situation! Treatment was not finished (didn't put the spacer as required), so we lost the space for the adult tooth. Unprofessional way of working!

Fantastic experience: My daughter had a very traumatic dental experience when she was 3 years old at another practice. She was absolutely petrified of the dentist after that. Unfortunately she had baby teeth that wouldn't come out on their own and needed immediate treatment. We came to safari smiles and had a really great experience. We have been going here ever since and my daughter actually gets excited to have her teeth cleaned & isn't nearly as afraid to get some work done. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I rarely write a review, but after our recent visits, I wanted to share. We typically dread going to the dentist (4 school aged sons), but Safari makes it MUCH easier. They were so patient and gentle with my 5 year old on his first visit a few months ago and were wonderful again when my 8 year old came in to get 2 teeth extracted last week. Dr. Choi gave us his full attention and made my son feel totally comfortable while going through a typically unpleasant procedure. Dr. Choi explained everything without any rush, putting both my son and I at ease. His staff was great and you can tell that Dr. Choi values them(you don't always see that). Just wanted to share how Safari changed our perception that "going to dentist" isn't so bad anymore!

Fantastic experience: Safari Smiles is always a wonderful experience for my family. My daughter was referred to get some teeth extracted, 4 total. She has been dreading the appointment since it was scheduled at the beginning of summer. Both of my kids love Becky, the hygienist. She always goes out of her way to make my kids feel special. But this appointment was different because it was very scary for her to have teeth pulled out. So when we get there first thing on a Monday morning, she was ready to get the procedure over. Dr. Choi decided to take 2 teeth out at that appointment, and have her come back the next afternoon for the other 2 teeth. Dr. Choi made this decision based on the anxiety she she was expressing. Because of his extensive experience with children, he made a decision that would prove to be very successful, although I disagreed initially. Becky returned the next day for extraction of her other 2 teeth. This time, it was a breeze for her. She was way more comfortable making it a much better appointment. I will continue to use Safari Smiles for all of the pediatric dentistry needs my family needs.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! They showed my son everything they were going to use before using it. Very quick cleaning and no crying! Great for a first time appointment.

Negative experience: We had an awful experience. We were there for a referral and the hygienist was rude and pushy. When the dentist came over he didn't even speak to my husband or I or the hygienist. The hygienist then told us all this work that needed to be done. She was pushing us into scheduling an appointment for treatment, totaling 5000 dollars, but neglected to say we needed to pay almost 500 dollars that same day just to schedule it. We would also need more than one appointment. She made us feel like terrible parents and that we weren't doing what was right for our child. She even got defensive when I explained that I would be calling our usual dentist to make sure he agreed with that the recommendation was. All this after a 2 hour drive to get there and only being there for 20 minutes. I will not be going to this place again.

Fantastic experience: We have been using Safari Smiles for roughly 2 years now. Dr Choi and his staff are all very friendly , professional, and easy to work with. They are good with my son, my son seems to enjoy his visits. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a childrens dentist.

Fantastic experience: Our girls, 2(almost 3) and 4 had their first dentist visit today and it went better than we ever could have expected. The facility was bright, cheery, and inviting. The staff, particularly our hygienist was absolutely fantastic and treated our girls and us with great respect, but also what appeared to be great diligence and skill. The girls came home wanting to brush their teeth with their new brushes and floss their teeth, couldn't ask for much more!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff that strive to make my child's experience a really positive one. My son has some complications, and staff did their research to make sure that every "i" was dotted, and every "t" crossed to ensure his safety. 10/10 experience

Fantastic experience: Safari Smiles is a wonderful place. I take my two kids, who are autistic. They take their time and make them feel as comfortable as they can. They are also great with answering questions (about teeth, financial, ect.), everyone is willing to help. If your child doesn't like going to the dentist try Safari Smiles they just get it.

Fantastic experience: Our boys love going to the dentist thanks to safari smiles! Everyone is so friendly and when my 3 year old left his beloved lightening McQueen car after his last visit yvonne went above and beyond to make sure we got it back!

Fantastic experience: My son has always been terrified of the dentist, since he knocked his tooth out when he was 1. We just moved back to the area, and would give safari smiles 10 stars if we could! Katie talked him through everything she was doing, interacted with him, validated his nervous feeling, and made him feel important! He came out with a huge smile, a balloon sword, stickers, and a "mom I'm not scared anymore!"

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience at Safari. Our 10 week old son had a lingual frenectomy done. The doctor and staff were all awesome and took such good care of our little guy as well as us. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Choi was absolutely amazing to our family and took the best care of our daughter while having a lot of dental work done in one sitting. He calmed our nerves and took time out of his busy day to make sure every question was answered, he was amazing beyond words!

Fantastic experience: Safari Smiles has met and exceeded all of my expectations! My son has been going here for multiple years and each visit is just as wonderful as the first. My little one is very sensitive to different textures and flavors. They allow us to bring in our toothpaste from home to use during his cleaning and do a wonderful job explaining exactly what they are going to be doing so my son knows what to expect.

Fantastic experience: This pediatric dental practice is phenomenal! The office is decked out in Safari murals and decoration. All of the staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and prompt. My kids have been going for 5 years and are always excited to go. Highly recommend!
