Tinley has always been so kind and understanding at the front desk. I’ve watched this practice grow from just one dentist and 1 hygienist in Live Oak to this huge practice in Yuba city! I can’t recommend them enough!

Negative experience: They a nightmare of a dental office with extremely bad customer service and questionable billing practices. They have a messy intake process. They did partial x-rays and found somethings wrong with my teeth; and then wanted me to come back for a complete exam. Why take multiple visits to do intake? Seems to me you can do intake during the first visit as the first task, do your assessment and then proceed with treatment. They have way too many staff. So many staff, they bump into each other and interrupt each other constantly. The hygienist takes forever because of it. The over staffing and interruptions turn what is a ten minute procedure into half a hour. After treating you, they sit you down at a sales desk so they can get you to sign off on your future care. Like they are selling cars. Some people just want to leave after getting care. Why not let them just leave and call them later? They sent in a claim for a claim to my insurance under the wrong treating dentist, Dr. Farr, when the Dentist I saw was Kovar. I am pretty sure Dr. Kovar is not in my network. I don't know why they are having out of network providers see patients. I will be taking my care elsewhere.

Negative experience: I was looking to establish a new dentist that was closer to where I live instead of driving 2 hours back/forth to Roseville. My husband has come here for years so I decided to give it a try, he’s only got basic work like cleanings and fillings but said they always hound you to make more apts and get things done. Long story short, I received a 3 1/2 hours long (insane) first apt. Dentist, Dr Kovar said I needed a deep cleaning (I’ve had these before so seemed standard) and proceeded to say I needed 2 crowns and all my fillings redone. I was a little shocked by the crowns, as I go to the dentist regularly and never was told this by two other dentist offices. I had 0 pain or any issues with any teeth, again just wanting to establish a new dentist closer to home. Fast forward, I ended up being told I had to do crown first when it should have been MY choice, as it’s my body. I trusted these people as I am not a dentist and got the crown done. Dentist came in only to numb me and quickly shave my perfectly fine tooth down and to never see him again. After a week I was having pain with the crown and couldn’t eat on that side of mouth. Came back so they could look at my bite, again, never saw Dr Kovar. They shaved down the crown and my real tooth on bottom saying that would help. It didn’t, and I decided to get a second opinion at a dentist I trust in Roseville. They said I didn’t need any crowns and my fillings looked fine! This place just wants to suck your insurance benefits dry and your wallet. I used all my benefits with them, as well as around $500 out of pocket. I ended up having to get a root canal a month later due to having to wait for the new year and insurance to kick in. Definitely do not recommend this place. It’s also odd they do not even have this dentist listed on their website but have every other staff in their office listed.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful first appt with River Oaks. I had a dental office who was closing and had a crown fall out and was scrambling to get it repaired before a work conference. The staff bend over backwards to get me in the very next morning. During my visit to get a temporary crown I was treated with so much kindness and respect by every employee. It was also very clear that the staff work well together. Communication and teamwork was evident during the entire time I was there. I am so glad to have found a new dental office now that my last one is closing.

The nerve in my tooth was irritated, so I got numbed & the adjustments to my crown’s length went very smoothly Dr Kovar is excellent at numbing. Didn’t even numb my cheek, just the tooth. But, I just found out what I was told, that they’re in network with my insurance, is not true, I’m going to have to change dentists.

Fantastic experience: So far, I only have wonderful things to say about River Oaks Dental. I came to them with several dental issues. I needed a deep cleaning, a new upper denture, a root canal with a crown and a new partial lower bridge. Though I have not yet finished all my treatment, I have been very happy with the results from my deep cleaning and my new upper denture. I did not develop any hot spots and the denture fits perfectly. I am now in the process of getting my root canal and crown completed. Also, they make sure you know your costs up front, including the amount your insurance will pay. I have been so pleased that my adult daughter is now going to become a River Oat Dental patient.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for years. I trust them to take good care of me. They even remember stories from Six months ago. I'll never go anywhere else.

Positive experience: The everyones nice. Every visit check in on time but don’t get called for another 15-20 mins. One appt took 3 1/2 hrs. for a two hour appt. No apologies. She was stalling for the dentist it felt like. R mentioned being understaffed. Call me to come in later, reschedule or discount me. My time is just a valuable as yours! The cost of N2O is insane if you choose/need it. The lobby space is clean however it is freezing. They do offer blankets There is enough parking spaces.
