Parkwood Dental- Dr Mark G Halbedl

Negative experience: I wouldn’t give Mark Halbedl even 1 star but it wouldn’t let me do that. This practice sent patients a message in January stating the dentist is taking leave. I got a letter in the mail in June stating the dentist office is closing and transferring their records. The practice owes me $600 from an overpayment and no one answers the phone or messages. Halbedl is a joke. I’m sure he’s making sure people who owe money are still paying!

Negative experience: I am so glad to be away from Parkwood Dental. The employees were great. They all did a great job. They were excellent employees and they did not deserve to be treated like they were treated by Dr.Halbedl. He should be ashamed the way he treated his employees.

Fantastic experience: The office was great again as usual wouldn’t think about ever leaving Dr. H.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent practice. The staff is efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and gentle. Doctor Halbedl is one of the best.

Negative experience: Dr. Halbedl pressured me into getting root canals on teeth that were giving me zero problems, and foolishly I agreed because I trusted him at the time. He attempted for several years to pressure me into having 2 more unnecessary root canals, to which I ignored his requests. Mind you, those teeth are still problem-free to this day, at least 7 years later. However, the teeth he DID perform root canals on are now bothersome and one is even resorbing which will eventually result in having to have the tooth pulled (which will absolutely not be performed by him). I paid him thousands of dollars for a root canal, only to have the tooth now begin to resorb a couple of years later. Money over patient care.

Fantastic experience: From the time I walked through the door to the time I left everyone was so welcoming. Felt like home for sure. I was nervous about switching dentist after several years but it was like I had been going to Parkwood forever. The time and care they took with my teeth and my overall checkup was great! Thanks Parkwood Dental, so happy I switched!!

Negative experience: I want to share the most disappointing dental experience I have ever encountered with Dr. Mark Halbedl and his team. From the beginning, Dr. Halbedl was unfriendly and dismissive. The staff also treated my mother poorly, insisting that her procedure could only be done under sedation—despite other dentists stating it could be performed without it. This added an unnecessary $1,500 to the cost. On top of that, they quoted us $12,000 for extractions and dentures, which was far higher than other providers in the area. Despite these concerns, we agreed to move forward. However, the issues only continued. On Monday, a staff member named Betty called and demanded full payment upfront before any work was done. When I questioned why anyone would pay such a large amount before services were rendered, she stated it was “policy,” yet could not provide any written documentation. When I explained that we would be using CareCredit, she suddenly changed her stance, saying payment could wait until the day of the procedure. Additionally, we were informed at the last minute that someone would need to remain present for the entire four hours my mother would be under sedation. While that requirement could have been manageable with advance notice, it had never been mentioned beforehand. Once again, there was no written policy, only what they verbally stated. When I raised these concerns, the receptionist promised to have someone speak with me. Instead, Dr. Halbedl came out and attempted to intimidate me. When I stood firm and questioned his approach, he told me to leave or he would call the police. This office demonstrated unprofessionalism, poor communication, and what felt like discriminatory and predatory practices. Their priority seemed to be money over patient care. I cannot in good conscience recommend this dental practice to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff was awesome as always! I love it that Dr. H always wants to make a plan for my dental care.

Fantastic experience: The hygienist did a wonderful job and I was out and on with my day in no time. My favorite thing is everyone being so friendly and personable.

Negative experience: ***Do NOT ever go to Dr H, he does procedures that are not necessary and he does NOT have your best interests at heart, trust me! Buyer BEWARE!. He is driven by money only, he was forced to relocate from Pittsburgh because his patients and staff knew his ways. Please be cautious, find another dentist……

I was greeted so promptly with a genuine smile; seated in waiting for less than 10 minutes, seated in the treatment room chair (still shaking ) given a blanket and made as comfortable as I could be () Dr. Halbedl was soon standing beside me: talking and singing to Randy Travis. I began to relax. Barely felt the injections, and the rest is history!! I lived!! NO PAIN! Beautiful, perfect work and I was smiling … not shaking & crying. I’d recommend Dr. HALBEDL and his staff to anyone… anytime. Thankful to have made their acquaintance. Blessings all. **Not sure how to leave feedback… continuing from the first encounter to almost finished with getting the repair done. Truly thankful to have those amazing people caring for me. I’m so thankful to have found such quality services near my home. I am aware of everything I need to do to get the absolute best results of the time in the dental office . (My previous review) Parkwood Dental is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you enter you’re met with friendly faces and nothing but professionalism. They take active steps to assuage any anxiety that usually accompanies a dentist visit; knowing that the staff is so invested in making patients feel comfortable and informed about everything that’s happening provides a feeling of comfort I’m just not used to on dentist appointments. Plus they play rock and all sorts of cool music on the radio. 10/10 I’m so glad I picked them.

Fantastic experience: Parkwood Dental is what every dentist should be about. They make you feel like they have known you forever and treat you with the up most respect. When talking to you they give you a little background about them so you feel comfortable. They ask non-stop when doing a procedure that if your ok? They explain everything in detail and ask if you have any concerns or questions. Dr Halbedl takes the time to know you as well as you know who he is, a quality that has been forgotten over the years. Betty, let’s just say is a rare jewel and shines like the diamond she is. I have spoken with this lady several times on the telephone but today when I met her, I knew she and I will become friends. Kelly the Dental hygienist is so caring and so sweet. She isn’t in a hurry like most and so gentle and you can tell she loves her job with how she treats her patient. I believe Donna was her name at check in and check out was lovely as well. She was so covered up I didn’t get to talk that much. But if you’re looking for professional and experienced and people who are passionate give them a call. I have been to dental offices that were more like spas than a dentist and no personality and 1 visit and I was done. I was beyond impressed for a small town dentist office and the staff and dentist just made me reconsider dental shopping for the right dentist. You know we all do it, same with physicians. Go make an appointment and have an open mind that sometimes small town dentist are what we need in our life , people who treats us with kindness. Kindness goes a long way! Fantastic experience: Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Office has latest technology. Kelly and Windy, the hygienists are great. Dr H is easy to talk to and very thorough. Had a crown to come loose, worked me in and quickly got it reset with no change to my bite. Highly recommend.
