Hendersonville Smiles Dentistry

Negative experience: Dr. Madison West ought to be ashamed of herself. My daughter previously has a clean bill of dental health except for one small cavity a year ago. We switched to this office and were told she had decay to the tune of 3 root canals and 3 crowns on a 13 year old’s adult teeth. The billing to insurance would be nearly $24,000. $6,200 out of pocket for my family. IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE THEY WILL BILL IT FOR ALLLLLL IT IS WORTH AT THE EXPENSE OF YOU AND YOUR TEETH. Trust your gut. Get other opinions. We will opt for 2 small surface level fillings from a reputable clinic. The hygienists/assistants Breanna and Michael were great. Very friendly and made my daughter feel very comfortable. Thank you. We will gladly pay an “uninsured out of network” cost of $900 to have my child cared for by a reputable dentist. Read the reviews… mine isn’t the first and it unfortunately will not be the last.

Negative experience: Everyone was friendly. However, the dentist wasn't confident enough to pull 2 of my teeth and said I needed an oral surgeon. The bill would be over $400 with my insurance. Plus $100 deposit just to make the appointment. I went to my old dentist who doesn't take my insurance and self paid, saving over $100 and no surgeon needed. I won't be returning.

Negative experience: I have been going to this place for years. I've had both good and bad experiences but lately they've been great. Until today when I had a root canal scheduled. I took off work drove over 20 miles and dropped my kid off at daycare. I even had the courtesy of calling and letting them know I was running a few minutes behind, which has never been an issue. I was less than 5 miles away and they called me back and said they could not do my procedure today because of how late I was. I told them 15 minutes late but was probably closer to 10. They asked if I wanted to schedule with another dentist at another time. I replied with I'll find another dentist. I have been thinking about switching anyway but this was the nail in the coffin. And while I'm here might as well chime in on the deep cleaning they seem to want to do with most patients. I had missed 1 cleaning due to going into labor and I had to start from square one at my last visit with the deep cleaning root scaling that costs close to $400. Also had to do the cleaning in 2 separate visits. I will advise you that getting work done here is like being sold a car. They send in the front desk staff to go over the consultation and pressure you into forking out hundreds if not thousands of dollars for dental work. It's very sleezy and not patient focused. It's $$$ that is all they want.

I was nervous to go, as I hadn’t been to a dentist in several years, but the whole staff made me feel welcome and took great care of me. Will definitely be back a couple times a year from here on out.

After I voiced my concerns, Dr. West personally reached out and worked quickly to get the issue corrected. I appreciate her responsiveness and commitment to patient satisfaction. Thank you, Dr. West, for taking the time to ensure I have a smooth recovery and return back to work.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here! The dental hygenist, Brianna, was wonderful and did a great job, and the doctor was very kind.

Negative experience: Wish I had been warned about this office. What a huge waste of rime! I wanted to schedule a cleaning with my regular dentist prior to vacation but no openings were available. I booked an appointment with Hendersonville Smiles instead. All I wanted was a cleaning but this office insisted on performing every unnecessary test in the book. Summary, I was told the bill would be in excess of $2,000 and they refused to do a cleaning until after I had a periodontal procedure. Fortunately, an appointment opened with my regular dentist the following week. The bill totaled $960 for the same procedure. In my opinion, this practice hinges in the unethical. Buyer be ware!

Fantastic experience: My visit was great. I got in and out in a timely manner. Alyssa answered all my questions and made sure I was ready for the doctor. The hygienist, Brea, gave me recommendations on how to take better care of my teeth. Dr. West was very careful with drilling my teeth. I had no issues.

Negative experience: DO NOT do business with this dental practice. Patient satisfaction means nothing to these people. They said they would accept my insurance and my insurance covered an examination, x-rays, and a cleaning. They refused to do the cleaning saying I needed a "deep" cleaning and they wanted to charge me $ 320.00 for a cleaning that was included with my insurance. Madison West ought to be ashamed of herself, and she ought to have her license revoked! These people are crooks! My rating for this dental practice is 0, not 1 star.

Fantastic experience: When taking my son-in-law to have a procedure done, I decided that it was the perfect time to find a new dentist. I hadn't been to a dentist in 2.5 years. My former dentist moved his practice and I didn't want to drive that far. My first appointment was the next Wednesday. There was the X-Rays and all that stuff that gets done first. Ya know poking, prodding, and examining. I'm a bit of case that needs some special care. I was made to feel comfortable and was presented with a plan of action. They took my insurance and developed a plan with a total cost to care for everything. My credit is no Bueno, but they were able to establish a payment arrangement for me within my budget to take the best care of me. They did the same for my son in law who has no insurance. Alyssa, Michael, Brea, Dr. West, and Kristin are kind good natured care givers. I would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Michael took my X-rays and made it painless. Dr. West was very nice and made me comfortable. Brea did my cleaning and gave me many recommendations on different brushing and flossing techniques to improve my oral health. Kristin at the front desk was very sweet and got all my finances done and make it so easy. I love this office!

Fantastic experience: Overall a very positive experience. Everyone was helpful, especially Zach, finding financial alternatives so that I could the treatments needed. Michael was absolutely fantastic, he was very thorough and explained each procedure and helped put me to ease...just needs to "increase the suction" to get the spit out, lol. Wed 4-15...Just had the deep cleaning and the hygienist Brea is wonderful! I have anxiety and was dreading the cleaning. She was patient and talked me through all the procedures, answering my questions and calmed my nerves and this was probably the best I have felt about a dental procedure. She has a upbeat positive attitude and seems to care about the patient's comfort. I love Dr. West's personality! Informative, caring, and fun. She made sure that the crown fit correctly and I was all good before leaving.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a dentist I don't think you'll find one better than Dr. West. She gives detailed explanations in a way that is easy for patients to understand. I have found her to be thorough and caring. If she were to leave the practice I think I would have to follow her. My cleaning visits with Breanna are a breeze as well. She is upbeat and my teeth feel like a million bucks after one of her cleanings. She asks questions and actively listens to any input I have to offer. Zach and the front desk are always greeting me with a smile and they look for spots on their calendar that work with my work schedule. Overall, the current staff have been a joy to work with. I hope to keep working with them for years to come.

Fantastic experience: I recently had 2 services here. My routine cleaning and I got my teeth whitened. I had a great experience with the whole team. Zach takes great care of you at the front desk. Ashley got my teeth sparkling and was super nice. Dr West is amazing and explains things very well. Michael did a fabulous job getting my teeth whitened. I struggle with gagging and he worked hard to make me comfortable. My smile is so pretty and I so glad I got it done. Go see them!

It had been far too long since my last dental visit, and it turned out I needed quite a bit of work done that required immediate attention. Fantastic experience: I found Hendersonville Smiles after my longtime dentist retired. I was skeptical but this practice removed that worry for sure. From the front desk gurus, Kristen and Zach, who ensure the appointments, billing and insurance goes well, to the sweetest Xray dude Michael, to the amazing hygienist Breanna, to Dr. West, the boss of this incredible staff. I have never been so happy with any medical practice of any kind. I put my wife on my dental plan so that her dental anxiety can be removed. There is no better dental practice in the Nashville area than Hendersonville Smiles! Five stars are not enough!

Positive experience: My first time experience at Smiles Hendersonville was as pleasant as a visit to the dentist can be. Everyone was cheerful, friendly and professional. My only issue was with the female dental assistant. She was very sweet and seemed to know what she was doing but her very long nails meant she had to wear gloves that were far too big and made it difficult to get my temporary crown in place. It took many tries and nearly 1/2 an hour. I would think that anyone putting their hands in a patient’s mouth would need to keep their nails short.

Fantastic experience: Hendersonville Smiles Dentistry was absolutely incredible. Everyone was incredibly kind, caring and professional. My sister was extremely scared about coming in and they could not have been more gracious and supportive. They made sure she felt comfortable every step of the way, explained everything very well and checked in with her at every step. I would absolutely recommend this staff, dentists and office to anyone looking for a dentist or dental surgery. I am very grateful!

Negative experience: 1 friendly & kind Breanna ends there. Office Manager is rude & the Dentist orders uncommon lab test: a mouth swab for bacteria (new patient) an extra charge, suggested to do laser treatments for gums, practice $$$ to me, even with co-pay of insurance.

Fantastic experience: I was somewhat apprehensive about finding a new dentist, as the process can be somewhat unsettling. However, a close friend of mine recommended this establishment. I made an appointment weeks ago online, but unfortunately, it was canceled a few days prior to my appointment due to the dentist being unavailable. We were able to reschedule, which was fortunate, and we managed to find a time that was mutually agreeable. The day before my appointment, I received a call regarding confirmation and was informed to complete paperwork prior to arriving, which was beneficial in reducing the time I had to wait. The only aspect that I wish had been communicated to me was how I needed to contact my insurance company beforehand and assign the office to my insurance plan. This took some time to resolve on the morning of my appointment, but I appreciated their patience with me. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience; they performed all the necessary x-rays and executed an exceptional job cleaning my teeth. I am extremely grateful to Brea for her extensive knowledge and advocacy for me regarding the consideration of a laser treatment, which I am deeply appreciative of. The office was exceptionally clean, and the dentist was very pleasant. Thank you all.
