Fantastic experience: I recently moved to Sacramento and still drive to Antioch to come here because they have been consistently professional, honest, and efficient—which is an experience that I unfortunately have not had with most other dental offices. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve had several different (and wonderful) dentists at this location. At one point my insurance changed and I tried to find a new dentist—ended up costing me $1800 for half a crown I didn’t really need and they tried to tell me I needed $6000 more in dental work (despite me having no symptoms or pain). I went back to East Bay Dental for a second opinion and they told me all I needed was one old filling replaced. Needless to say, I switched my insurance again that day so I could be covered here and have been coming back ever since.

Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Lawrence Wu. I first used his service about 20 years ago. Then, he moved to Antioch. I tried a number of other dentists, but find integrity lacking in some practice, so I went back to Dr. Wu. It's worth it for me to drive an hour each way twice a year to see a dentist I trust and who I know only recommends services I actually need.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wu is hands down the best dentist we’ve ever had. We originally came to him for a second opinion after another dentist in town was giving our family information that just didn’t feel right, and we are so grateful we did. Dr. Wu is honest, trustworthy, and never pushes unnecessary work. He won’t tell you that you need a cavity filled if you truly don’t, which is incredibly refreshing. Another thing we love is how respectful he is of your time. When your appointment is scheduled, you’re actually seen at that time instead of sitting in the waiting room forever. He’s also absolutely wonderful with my 4-year-old son, Henry. He always explains what he’s going to do before he does it, speaks to him in a calm and reassuring way, and makes sure he feels safe and not scared during the visit. That level of patience and care means so much as a parent. Our entire family sees Dr. Wu now, and we recommend him to everyone we know!

Fantastic experience: This was my first time visit to East Bay Dental. I was very impressed with how clean the place was and how I was treated. I was seen almost immediately and I really appreciated that. In total my exam and cleaning took all of about 40 minutes. I am glad I found this place since my previous dentist was just the opposite experience

Positive experience: It's nice & clean & everyone is professional. The only issue I have is regarding call backs. If I call to speak directly with the dentist, I do expect a call back within at least 24 hrs. That doesn't happen here. I had to go there to get attention.

Negative experience: Super rushed and borderline unprofessional Normally dont review but this has happened to me twice with them already. I went in for a cleaning at 4pm i was asked back at 3:55 and was literally only in the chair til 4:15 thats including my super rushed x rays, they literally only used the ultrasonic cleaner once on top and bottom then focused on my bottom font teeth causing me a lot of pain, the hygienist kept telling me to put my tongue back (im tongue tied it hurts to do so) and then finished didn’t even floss me. I would like to add they spent the entire cleaning talking about some girl they followed on instagram and their personal family drama. I was the last person in there and you could tell they were trying to go home. When i booked my appointment i mentioned i was an invisalign consultation when i noticed this wasn’t going to be a part of the appointment i mentioned it to the girl that polished me and she got the hygienist to do the “consult” which consisted of her looking at my bite for a minute, once i bite down and smiled she told me to bite normally (which i was) then said “as long as you dont want to fix your bite and only want to fix the bottom crowed it should be fine the receptionist will give you the price” and that was it. Subpar at best honestly which sucks because i had such a good experience my very first time with them, i same experience happened when i went during a lunch hour last year though it was a one time occurrence and learned not to schedule during that time

Fantastic experience: Dr Marasco has been my dentist since I moved to the area 8 years ago. He has been great, giving excellent advice, never trying to upsell anything unnecessary, but definitely advising me when I needed to spend extra (in this case for a crown) because it was necessary. Front desk staff and the assistants have also consistently been great.

Negative experience: If I could give negative stars, I would. I had one of the worst dental experiences of my life at this office, and I’m now dealing with pain, anxiety, and a potentially dangerous situation because of it. I came in on April 8th for a routine cleaning and exam. I was told I needed two old fillings replaced—tooth #15 and tooth #31. Sounds simple enough, right? Instead, it turned into a nightmare. Without clearly explaining what was happening, Dr. Ammso drilled tooth #15 down to a nub, told me I’d probably need a root canal, and slapped on a temporary crown—none of which I agreed to. I had clearly said I didn’t want invasive work like crowns or root canals because I have PTSD from military service and a pacemaker, which usually requires antibiotics before deep procedures. They ignored all of this. On top of that, she kept hitting my gums with tools during the drilling, and when I flinched in pain, she blamed me. My mouth bled for days and I’m still sore. After all that, they brought me a second treatment plan, charged me $262, and billed my insurance—for procedures I never agreed to in the first place. Tooth #31? That was supposed to be a simple filling. It still hurts, and I didn’t have pain before they touched it. I came back a week later on April 16 to try and get the crown placed properly (even though I wanted to wait for the VA to fix it). Dr. Marasco came in, and when I tried to explain what had happened, he literally said, “No one held a gun to your head.” Excuse me?? That’s how you talk to a veteran with anxiety who just got taken advantage of? He then refused to fix the work or place the crown—even though I had already paid. I left in tears, with an aching tooth, a temporary crown, and a huge feeling of regret for ever walking into this place. If you have medical issues, trauma history, or just expect basic informed consent and compassion from your dental provider, I highly suggest looking elsewhere.

Negative experience: I swear these reviews is inaccurate. This is my second time with East Bay Dental doing regular cleaning. My first with Dr Wu was ok, he got to all my teeth and cleaned all the stains and build ups. However, he was kind of rough and end up cutting a piece of tissue under my tongue. Today, I came and they assigned me to Dr Ammsso, and lord help me, because I came for a facial rather than teeth cleaning. She is not only very rough (I had to stop and tell her to be gentle), but she also cleaned my teeth so fast that she misses so many areas. It was so rough that she splashes water all over my face and down my neck......She cleaned my teeth in probably 5-10 min. Her assistant does a better job than her, who take her time and careful. Never going back and will let my family and friends know to stay clear of this place.

Negative experience: This dental experience was the worst ever. I went in for a cleaning and mentioned that I had a rough edge on 1 of my teeth. Absolutely no pain what so ever! The dentist said I needed a crown. WHAT? ok. I believed her . She never showed me the xrays. My fault for not asking. Part of the cleaning was done by the assistant and an additional cleaning (10 minutes) by the dentist. Not once did she talk about my teeth or health of them or anything that a Dental Hygienists which I have had in my almost 70 years. What kind of cleaning is that? I say OK to the crown thinking it was best and not realizing this is a Dentist For Profit! She drills my tooth and leaves it to the assistant to finish. Took her 2 times to make my temporary. ok I leave and an hour later have to come back because she made my temporary with the sharp edge! So unprofessional! Now they have another assistant thats going to grind down the sharp edge. She started and I felt it with my tongue and said it was fine. No she insisted on grinding on it more! No dentist even checked on it or me while I was there! I left and started feeling air flowing in and pain now. I thought it was from the drilling and maybe the pain would go away. Well it didnt and it hasnt and I have to have my tooth pulled because of incompetent dental assistants!! Now I have just thrown away $1000 for a crown that has to to be pulled. I was told by another dentist that my temporary wasnt done right and drilled too much that let bacteria in with the end result of having it pulled. This all started February 14th and now its March 18th and waiting to get it pulled on the 21st. UGH I would say DO NOT GO TO EAST BAY DENTAL in Antioch all they care about is money and not like dentists used to be. I didnt even want to give them 1 star

Fantastic experience: I don't think there are words to say how grateful I am. I was nervous due to not being insured for years and also having very uncomfortable experiences before. Everyone here is so thorough. I love how the front desk was very helpful in explaining my options and my plan. I also appreciate how the dentist listens to his patients and leaves room to ask questions. I am so happy to finally get the care I need and being able to feel comfortable going to the dentist. Fantastic experience: I have been going here for several years and the whole staff from the front desk to the dental technicians to the dentists are all knowledgeable, well skilled and most of all work so well together as a team. I never have to wait longer than 4 to 5 min before they take me in. My dentist is Richard Morasco is my dentist and has been doing implants and is so skilled and efficient. He takes the time to explain treatment plans and tries to accommodate to your budget. Strongly recommend East Bay Dental and Dr Morasco!!!

Positive experience: I feel they were really busy, we waited a long time. Dentist came in, numbed my son, and left. She came back later and did the filling in 5, maybe 10 minutes. She didn't ask how it felt, she just told him to wait for numbing to go down before eating. As we waited at the front desk to pay, my son said it felt rough. I told the front desk, and the Dentist said to wait for numbing to go down and then call them to let them know. But his tongue isn't numb, he's telling you right now it doesn't feel right. So now we have to take time out of another day for them to fix what should have been done at his appointment. But instead it felt like they were working on multiple ppl at same time. Not happy with service. ***UPDATE A day later, I was called by their office asking if everything was OK. I told them no, they got us in right away. Dr Wu polished the molar and got rid of the roughness. My son said it felt smooth and much better, thank you.

Negative experience: I received a Treatment Plan for a implant, so I was going to have them to the work . In February they pulled my tooth out. When I went back for a cleaning , one week before they were going to work on my tooth they said it would not be covered because they could not accept both of my coverages. Now I will have to go looking for other dentist to finish what they started. They should of know this before they pulled out my tooth.

Fantastic experience: The hygienist was gentle but thorough and had a very pleasant nature. Dr. Lawrence Wu DDS is the best dentist to whom I’ve ever been. He did the cleaning while examining my teeth and noticed I ground my teeth at night. A night guard could’ve saved having had crowns put on two of my molars if I had done it earlier. No other dentist had noticed that I was grinding my teeth at night nor did I know. He’s observant and adept and causes no pain. I highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience: Dr Richard Marasco is a superman. He is friendly and superbly competent. He took the time to answer all my questions about my first life extraction (wisdom tooth). I had viewed many videos of similar procedure and ready for it. However, he exceeded all my expectations. Total painless procedure in less than 60 seconds. I must say he is now designated as the best dentist I have ever had (and i have had a few in 4 countries and 3 continents).
