Negative experience: Don’t waste your time with this unprofessional, run down dump. The dentist was not on the premises the day I was there to answer questions beyond the staff’s abilities. Hygienist was rude and dismissive. She wanted detailed medical information but could not tell me why. I luckily got out before she got her hands in my mouth. Avoid!!
Positive experience: I have recently had to have my four top front teeth extracted , bone grafts and plan to have dental implants placed in the future. I will say there were some issues with the temporary flipper and overall I would give 4/5 stars. However, Dr. Dottore receives a 5/5 from me. I have huge anxiety related to this procedure. He took his time, was compassionate and did his best to address my concerns regarding the flipper tooth. He made me feel that my concerns were important to him and made me feel cared for. Kudos ! and thank you
Negative experience: Yes I seen the reviews before, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.JUST DON'T GO DON'T LET THEM WASTE Your Benefits!!!! This office has really bad communication,The hygienist spent more time worrying about high blood pressure and 10 minutes cleaning my mouth,I came for a cleaning, The doctor you don't need a cleaning you need a scaling,I only get to the 2x with my insurance, hygienist states after I get on high blood pressure meds, they will clean the other half of my mouth, I have epilepsy my medicine causes my bleeding of gums I told 3 employees this ,the doctor kept saying it was high blood pressure causing it smh , The doctor never once actually looked in my mouth either he just looked at old photos and said you have no cavities.last the Hygienist states id have to come back but my insurance doesn't cover anistiaia for 250.00 do you want me to apply it now later? I said no thanks so they also like up charging , my past dentist office could clean up All Not Half my teeth in the hour . County Dental office was a waste of my insurance benefit ,I almost thought I was in a Circus when I was there.

Negative experience: I have been a patient at Dutchess County Dental for over eight years, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. Unfortunately, due to repeated issues with communication and professionalism—primarily at the front desk—I have decided to end my relationship with this office. This pattern began back in October. I received a confirmation call around 8:50 AM during a work meeting, which I was unable to answer. I promptly confirmed my appointment through the text message system, assuming that was sufficient. Within minutes, I then received multiple voicemails stating that my appointment time was being moved an hour and a half later due to internal scheduling conflicts. This was extremely frustrating, as I had scheduled that time specifically around my work commitments. When I called back, I expressed my concern, and while the office manager, Natalie, did apologize and ultimately kept my original time, the situation felt disorganized and inconsiderate. In January, I had wisdom teeth removal and was asked to provide updated insurance information. I gave my insurance details over the phone and was told everything was set. A few days later, I was contacted again and asked for the same information, which I provided a second time. My procedure went smoothly, and there were no issues at that time. However, when I arrived for a routine cleaning in April—an appointment I had scheduled six months in advance—I was told I could not be seen because I had not “confirmed” the appointment. This was surprising, as I have never encountered a medical office that cancels appointments solely based on lack of confirmation, especially without clearly communicating such a policy over the course of eight years. Additionally, I was informed that my hygienist, Esther, was not in at the moment so they couldn’t even see me if they wanted to. To make matters more confusing, I was also told that I had an outstanding balance due to “termed” insurance. This was particularly frustrating, as I had provided my updated insurance information twice prior to my January procedure, and at that time everything had been processed without issue. Despite my efforts—including phone calls and emails—it appears my insurance information was never properly recorded. I understand that offices have policies and that scheduling challenges can arise. However, the lack of clear communication, inconsistent handling of important information, and repeated negative interactions with the front desk staff have made my experience increasingly frustrating over the past year. I want to emphasize that my hygienist, dentist, and checkout staff have always been excellent. However, the overall experience is significantly impacted by the front desk operations. After eight years as a loyal patient—and having referred others—I am very disappointed to say that I can no longer recommend this office. If i could give this office 0 stars, I would.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this practice to anyone. The staff are unprofessional, and the entire experience feels like a money grab. They repeatedly cancel appointments at the last minute, causing constant inconvenience. This has happened more than three times, to the point that I went an entire year without getting my teeth cleaned because of their cancellations. They also consistently try to find additional “problems” with your teeth or gums to get you to spend more money out of pocket. Before you even complete one treatment, they push you into another. For example, I was told I needed scaling, which I agreed to. Before that treatment was even completed, I was told I needed medication for my gums that required an out-of-pocket payment. Then I was told I needed laser treatment, spaced two weeks apart for each side. After booking the laser appointments, they canceled on me the day before, claiming the machine wasn’t working. I rescheduled and completed the left side. When it was time to treat the right side, they canceled again—this time just three hours before my appointment—saying the doctor had gone back home. This all started around October 2025. Now in 2026, I tried again to complete the remaining treatment. I arrived early for my appointment and was told they needed to reschedule me yet again—and that I would also need to purchase a special rinse for $280 out of pocket. The repeated cancellations, constant upselling, and lack of professionalism are unacceptable. Do not book this place.

Fantastic experience: After researching a lot of dental offices in the area, my fiancé and I went to Dutchess County Dental today and were very appreciative of the care provided. The hygienist, Ester, was fantastic and even came by at my fiancé's request to go over what care they were suggesting for him and expected costs. Everyone was very professional and concise in their explanations of what was being done and made sure to ask if we had questions between every step of the process.

Negative experience: Still waiting. Family of 5, 4 of us have been here for more then a year and I am currently looking for a new dentist. I am still waiting to hear from a Dentist regarding my son, I have been waiting for about 3 months. I feel like this place is only in it for the insurance payments. My one son, was told had 8 cavities. Made appointments and he had them filled 6 weeks later they called and told me he needed an appointment to have the remaining cavities filled. So, the math isn't working there. My other son had an appointment and the dentist never spoke to me and neither did the hygienist. They take xrays EVERY time. Since my insurance only covers xrays once a year, they then were charging me. After awhile I just felt like it was more about what they could find wrong to bill me with. I was promised multiple times the dentist would call about my sons. When I never received a call I realized my feeling of the insurance payment was accurate. Avoid if possible. UPDATE: Its been 2 WEEKS and this office STILL has not reached out to me regarding my review. They keep proving my point.

Fantastic experience: I've been to many dental offices for many different reasons but this one is by far in experience and service superior. All staff from the beginning of the appointment were dedicated professionals and I am excited ro have a phenomenal result! The hygienist is probably the best I've had thusfar. Super knowledgeable and the care not just service was second to none. A must visit.

Earlier this week, you requested an appointment online to be seen two days later in our office. Our team made multiple attempts to reach you to confirm the appointment and gather some necessary information ahead of time. We also sent an email confirming the scheduled time and requesting a follow-up to complete the missing details. On the day of the appointment, someone other than the original requester arrived 20 minutes late. As our front desk team had not received a response to previous calls or emails, they had to collect the required information and check insurance eligibility upon arrival. Unfortunately, this process took time, and as a result, we were unable to proceed with treatment that same day. We made every effort to accommodate the patient and reschedule appropriately. Given the circumstances, we respectfully disagree with the characterization of our team as 'incompetent,' as we followed standard procedures to ensure the best possible experience for all patients. We sincerely regret any frustration this may have caused and hope to have the opportunity to serve you in the future.

Fantastic experience: I called Easter Sunday leaving a message on the voicemail & got a call first thing Monday morning from Natalie. She was kind attentive and so accommodating. I came in first thing Friday morning after being on antibiotics ordered by a local urgent care but not feeling much better. Dr. Bonelli was amazing. He took his time explaining all cases scenarios. Indeed it was the worst case scenario but Dr. Bonelli assured everything would be ok. They attempted to get me in when another office today as their own surgeons were not in any of their offices today. Let me just say I decided I would wait until Tuesday so I may be taken care of by the County Dental periodontist. Thank you to everyone who cared for me today & thank you for embodying what it is to be healthcare professionals who truly care about their patient’s wellbeing. Fantastic experience: Best dentist ever love people there they understand what going on in my mouth and to fix they are so great at there job my teeth feel better when get a clean and and go again . Fantastic experience: Start by saying I wish they had numbed me up a little more before we started we had to do extra. BUT the place was spotless. Up to date equipment. The Dr and the nurse where chipper and in awesome moods and I was in and out. I got an extraction minimal after pain and I'm happy I chose them.

Positive experience: Update of latest visit. Esther was great again. I had to reschedule this visit and was glad it was only a month instead of the several months the receptionist originally threatened. Esther was thorough and explained procedures and the need for them. And she has a great sense of humor. UPDATE TO MY REVIEW BELOW: So I went through with the periodontal procedure as described below. On January 21, 2023, I returned to Dr Sheffer to begin the crown replacement. This was over four months after the x-rays were taken which indicated some decay in this tooth under the existing crown. One month after the crown lengthening by periodontist which was 3 months after the original x-rays. So crown is removed and drilling begins. And goes on. And goes on, And then I am alerted that we have a problem Houston. And so I lost the tooth. Did this lengthy delay contribute to this extraction? I can't say for sure, but it certainly must have contributed to this. Dr. blamed it on the periodontist. And so I am out $400 and a tooth. Previous review: Ester was great. Very thorough cleaning and very informative. Would definitely recommend her. However, I have had some issues with the practice in general. I went there in November of 2021 for a cleaning. Said to come back in three months. Had an appointment for February 2022 which they cancelled and rescheduled me to September of 2022 which they said was the earliest appointment and did I want to take it or what? Which I did. Went in September for cleaning and was examined by the Dr. He said Xray showed some decay and I needed to have crown replaced and possibly have a CT scan. Dr said he wanted me to have this done within the next few weeks. They scheduled me for November. Was told the CT scan was cheaper with Dental Direct so I enrolled in that. A few days before the appointment they called to confirm the appointment and my cost. An hour later they called to say I say they were cancelling that appt and that I needed to see a periodontist first. Saw periodontist two weeks later in the Fishkill office. They scheduled me a procedure four weeks later. A couple of weeks later they called to say they had to change that appointment for an earlier date. However, I did not win the phone lottery and then they said they were scheduling me for a week later than my original appt. So, because the crown cannot be scheduled until four weeks after the procedure that means crown will not begin until the end of January 2023 and I will hopefully actually get the crown in February 2023. That puts me at a full year from when this should have been discovered in February of 2022. I do also have a gripe with the fact that I could have been referred to the periodontitis right after my visit in September rather than waiting until November as this decision to refer me one would think was based on review of the x-rays taken in September. I have been generally satisfied with my treatment there for a number of years. So not sure what has happened to change the situation there but it's something that definitely gives me pause.

Positive experience: Everyone was absolutely incredible. Ladies at the desk, the nurses, the other doctor who checked me out all super friendly and kind and helpful. Taking two stars off because we're almost 4 hours out from getting my teeth ripped out and Dr. Mark has yet to send anything to my pharmacist.

Negative experience: My dad was seen there for tooth infection and facial swelling and was told to continue the amoxacillin instead of changing to a stronger antibiotics such as Augmentin. I think that is poor and mismanaged care.

According to our records and account of your dad's visit, we noted that he was not accompanied by yourself or otherwise so there are some details you may not be aware of. Please note that during the appointment, both our Dentist and our Periodontist recommended very specific treatment, including medication needed to avoid the symptoms he experienced both which he declined. If he would like to discuss this more, we are happy to speak with him and reengage in the advice and the treatment we had originally recommended. At County Dental at Poughkeepsie, we have a very high standard of care and always make it a practice to suggest a treatment plan that is in the best interest of our patients. Ultimately however, it is the patient that makes the decision whether to accept or reject what has been treatment planned. Negative experience: I have scheduled an appointment for months to see a hygienist which is needed to see the dentist. Get a phone call just now, end of day on a Friday, to say they only have one hygienist and your appointment for next Wednesday will have to be rescheduled to OCTOBER! Terrible patient service, no apologies either. Buh Bye!

Fantastic experience: Amazing! The office itself looks luxurious when you walk in. The receptionists were all very friendly, welcoming and provided quick service. I was seen by Esther who reduced my anxiety of going to the dentist. Felt no pain whatsoever during my general cleaning which is not the case with other dentists I’ve seen in the past. Negative experience: The most horrible dental experience with staff ever ..The assistant to the dentist one in particular is very rude and unprofessional..The dentist himself is racist and has a foul mouth..I was put out of this office after a disagreement with the assistant and the dentist even cursed to call the cops ..very much not a place for black Americans..Stay away from this place ..The receptionist are good ..The dentist needs to be called out for racism and discriminatory practices
We have received your review of our office. According to our records, you were dismissed from the practice due to your derogatory, rude and disrespectful comments made during your visit. This office has been around for over 15 years and none of our team has ever been sited as racist before. In addition, we have witnesses that saw and heard the entire interaction and have voluntarily offered to support us and vouch for our professional disposition during this shocking yet unwarranted experience. This is against our practice culture and all of the standards that we have set forth as a business. Your comments are damaging to our office and while we support all people having the freedom to share their concerns or comments regarding our practice, we will not entertain those when they are unfounded, damaging, disrespectful and quite frankly untrue. Fantastic experience: First time at this practice and I was absolutely impressed. It’s always hard to start up with a new practice because of insurance changes. From the moment I came in the receptionist the primary technician and then Gianna were absolutely outstanding. Very personable caring and professional. Gianna has a very strong knowledge and expertise which I want to spend time with her to bring my oral care to the highest level. She is well qualified and capable to do that. The dentist himself was also outstanding and he reminded me of some of my cousins down on Long Island The Receptionist at payment was excellent and I highly look forward to my next visit and great things at this dental office. Fantastic experience: Going to a dentist has not been my favorite thing to do. But, I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Dutchess County Dental. The level of competence and skills of the dental professionals there, from the dentist to his staff—is highly impressive, and a welcome relief. But, there were so many other things that impressed me with Dutchess County Dental. The quality of all their equipment — from TOP NOTCH X-RAY MACHINES, and their skill in taking and interpreting their images. Attention given to each patient; as well as the conscientious adherence to COVID Protocol for their safety—to the understanding, caring nature of every member of their amazing team, Dutchess County Dental comes out on top. (Oh, and they have extremely comfortable dental chairs! )
