Aspen Dental - Du Bois, PA

Fantastic experience: Both my husband and I travel from Bradford to Dubois for all our dental needs. We love Michael Kitchen DDS, our dentist and our hygenienist, Hailey. Both are very friendly, and patient with me...because..I HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST! They make it a less stressful experience from getting teeth cleaned to having dental work done. Having said that, the office staff especially April was very, very easy to work with. She has a great personality and is a real asset to the office! I would highly recommend Aspen Dental Dubois for all your dental needs!!

Fantastic experience: Went in today for a painful tooth & swollen lip and cheek. Everyone was really nice! For an initial visit they are very thorough. The staff there explain everything to you and spend the time to make you comfortable. I would recommend them for any dental issue you may have.

Fantastic experience: Needed a tooth extracted, the referral office from my dentist had an opening for an evaluation in five months. Called Aspen and got in within a week and my tooth out the next week at the time of my choice.

Negative experience: Everyone was kind but after sitting there for a long time I was told my insurance coverage was not accepted. This after being told several times upon checking that it was. I ended up not getting my teeth cleaned and just waisted my time !!

Fantastic experience: Not sure what some of you all experienced there with bad comments, but I had a good experience there. Everyone was polite and made me feel comfortable. They explained everything that needed to be done and came up with a plan. Overall, Im happy with Aspen Dental.

I want to give special thanks to nurse Therese for getting me through the X-ray portion of my visit. I have an extremely bad gag reflex and the X-rays are taken by placing a little panel inside your mouth. I wasn’t handling things very well BUT she was very reassuring and very accommodating and VERY PATIENT with me. I give her a 1000% satisfaction rating. Dr. Kitchen performed the extraction flawlessly and painlessly. Very skilled at his profession of dentistry. I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Aspen dental in Dubois. Thank you all for handling this very stressful situation for me.

I was in so much pain to the point I was ready for whatever happened but was reassured Doc had everything under control. Staff was great especially who I dealt with which was Jill that took care of the appt. and billing and Sherry the awesome dental assistant and of course Dr. Kitchen that did the procedure flawlessly.

Negative experience: 2nd UPDATE: since going there 2 of the fillings have started to fall out. Now I have to pay to goto a real dentist to have this mess fixed after paying them already to fix the problem and dealing with all there care credit BS. I would not recommend them at all. There snake oil sales men. There all nice and friendly and suck you in. But its just a front. UPDATE: After taking the steps I took they finally adjusted the amount to the 400$ i owe them. Now my great credit is tanked because of them but atleast there off my report! After jumping through hoops and going over there heads. Had work done here. Got the care credit to help pay for it. I didnt receive all the services on the plan yet no refund and got turned into the credit report people for the full amount and it tanked my credit!. I disputed the charges on all the credit reporting sites and they were all denied! So where did the rest of the money for the services I didnt get go? Fraud? I have since escalated the situation and have contacted the aspen dental main office and the attorney general. Ive never seen anything like this in my life.

Fantastic experience: Every aspect of my experience with Aspen Dental family was beyond my expectations. I had been fitted for dentures at a different place when I first needed dentures and the bottoms were terrible. I could have fit two sets of my lower gums in them and even using a reliner they always popped off the moment I'd try to eat. Aspen Dental did such great work that my lower arch stays in all day, even when eating. The staff are an extreme pleasure to work with as well. I highly recommend Aspen Dental to anyone who needs dentures!

Fantastic experience: I love this dental office so much. I went in for fillings and ive gotten a tooth extraction here as well. The staff; front desk, dentist, dental assistant and the dental hygienist were all amazingly kind and understanding. I havent been to the dentist in 20 years and I did not feel judged or bad about the condition of my teeth. They all make you feel comfortable and safe. I also have a needle phobia and they have been super understanding and accommodating to make me feel better. Thanks so much to everyone in this office. You've made me not scared of the dentist.

Fantastic experience: This place was an amazing experience, very nice setup, forgot my pain momentarily I waited to have a wisdom pulled which I was told 2 years ago and I now know why. I am new here and know 2 people easy to find as well. The staff was incredible and I showed my appreciation to each and every one.

Negative experience: State of the art equipment. Staff all very nice and professional. However they said I needed a deep root cleaning. Went to A periodontal and $450 later after more X-rays and office visit they said I did not need this. Want to Aspen Dental for a cleaning. After all this I should get a free cleaning.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the staff and service. They have been very patient and more than cooperative working with me and my scheudle to make visits/appointments, everyone has been very pleasant and easy to work with all around excellent service, no issues on my end.

Negative experience: Pro: I gave them a 2 star bc I was able to get an appointment without having to wait months. Con: My insurance covers a free teeth cleaning, and never in my life have I ever had a dental group refuse to do a routine cleaning. They said I can only do a more advanced cleaning for >$500 after insurance. They also forced me to get a bunch of X-ray images, that I strongly didn't want to do, or they refused to see me. And of all the different dentists I've been to, they had the least friendly staff. Staff talked at you, they appeared to be bothered that you where there, they were rough on face/teeth, and then acting upset that you weren't interested in something they were trying to sell you. And unfortunately I had to drive quite a ways to get to there location, and to make matters worse, they booked me to come in several times over several days, when the actual tooth I wanted them to look at, they did and where done in about 20 min

Positive experience: I just wish you would make dental implants more affordable for the middle class and senior citizens, implants are the future denture now, why now make it so everyone can afford them, and if you arnt a candidate the old dentures is what you could get, I just feel the old dentures are so the thing if the past, everybody should be able to afford the ne t dentures

Fantastic experience: Dentist office was super clean, office was also well managed. The front team of Cassie and shelbe were super nice. Melissa was super friendly and made the cleaning very easy and comfortable which was huge for me because I’ve never been comfortable at the dentist office. The consult with Shelbe was super easy and she does a great job.

Negative experience: I just cracked my top plate basically due to the fact that it has never really fit right no matter how many times I waste coming back to this place to get it corrected. Well I checked online and I was lead to believe according to there website for only 49 dollars you can just come in to get a same day fix with “No Hassles” I don't trust walk-ins so just in case I scheduled an appointment for the following morning. I took the hour drive from my home to my appointment to get them fixed. Upon arrival I was handed a paper that said that I would have to pay over 200 dollars just to be seen, then was told that even then I would still need to go through with a bunch of separate billable procedures first like new scans and a full exam. Thanks for making my anxiety a 1000 times worse! You guys disappointed me yet again, I guess I finally just need to face my fears of finding a new dentist and be done with this place once and for all.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new patient to Aspen Dental and had a very positive, polite, pleasant, professional and respectful experience at my appointment. The staff from the time you arrive to the time you leave are very friendly & helpful. The dentist (Dr Kitchens) took the time to go over my chart (as a new patient) and made sure I was comfortable with my appointment and made sure all my questions were answered. Negative experience: Went to the office in March to get my permanent plates. They did not fit right and hurt. I couldn't even where them for mor then a minute without gagging. I was told they didn't want to adjust them too much because then I would lose suction and have to rely on fixodent. He was wanted me to get used to them even though I kept telling him they were to big. Went back on 4/6/2026 for an adjustment and they still hurt and are very uncomfortable. I am now going to be looking for another dentist. I will not be returning to aspen dental again. The dentist rushes you and doesn't really listen to your concerns.

I left with complete answers and back up plan if my pain level didn't dissapaite. All in all, I would RECOMMEND Aspen if you have an emergency need like myself or if you're looking to try a dentist. Positive experience: The work station room setups made process fast for all X-rays and treatment plan. I have to have everything removed and top and bottom dentures. I was very comfortable with them doing surgery and replacing after my appointment. It's not cheap anywhere but they work finance in house. Dreading payments but excited to eat and no more toothaches.. After 5 weeks I regret spending over $8000 , I can't wear dentures, triggers gag reflex and over salivating. No one informed me of this possibility. Now I have $8000 in top dentures I can't wear. Just pulling teeth would have solved issue. Then try temp denture before spending excessive money. Feel very uniformed of all possible outcomes.

Negative experience: It's too bad you can't give a negative a one is way too much for this outfit after 30 x-rays $29 deal the dentist looks at me and tells me I need a root canal so I went to my regular dentist today and all I had was a cracked filling so he put a new filling in it and I'm just done Aspen told me I either had to have a root canal done or pull the tooth you talk about a terrible business the doctor actually spent almost 15 seconds looking at my tooth at the very most

Negative experience: Absolute horrible patient treatment. Patient goes in for oral surgery under anesthesia and immediately gets released with no recovery time, can't sit up on their own, can't stand on their own, folding over in the chair, falling while standing, and they're just in a rush to get them out, no time to recover or anything. Any other place after oral surgery has the patient sit and recover until they are alert and can sit up and stand on their own, but not here. It's like all they're worried about is how fast they can get you in and out to make quota all while shoving 5 different business cards in your face to leave them a review.

Negative experience: I've used Aspen a hand full of times for maintenance cleanings without too much of an issue. This last experience will be my last. What should have been a routine filling was an absolute traumatic experience that left me in tears. From the attitude and inappropriate comments made by the hygienist and the dentist-to the fact that I went in, without pain, but after what felt like an unnecessarily painful and traumatic filling, left me with constant throbbing pain 3 weeks and ultimately an infection requiring antibiotics and eventually being told I needed a *root canal* related to the incompetent work done at this Aspen dental. At the same time that I escalated my complaints about my experience to the Aspens feedback emails, this office's operations manager, and probably her staff, got on here to leave themselves 5star⭐ reviews, likely in a effort to mitigate another unacceptable patient experience. That lack of integrity topped it all off for me. Do yourself and your long term health a favor and seek out a different local dentist office that actually cares about their patients and not just saving themselves a little face while destroying your mouth.

Negative experience: I went to Aspen Dental to fix a loose filling — a basic, routine procedure. Instead, it turned into a painful and expensive ordeal. After the initial visit, I was left in significant pain. I had to return twice because the filling was not handled correctly. Each time, the issue was still not resolved. The pain continued to worsen. I eventually sought a second opinion from another dentist and was told I now need a root canal. I was referred to an endodontist because of complications stemming from the original filling repair. What should have been a simple fix escalated into a serious procedure requiring specialized treatment. I am still undergoing care and waiting to see if the tooth will properly heal. This has caused unnecessary pain, stress, time away from work, and unexpected financial burden. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office. Patients deserve competent care, especially for routine procedures.

Negative experience: Don't waste your time or money. All they care about is getting as much out of you as possible. I was in pain and all they did was an X-ray and they wouldn't pull it the same day even though I have been on antibiotics. They wanted me to make to make another appointment and wouldn't be able to get me in until another month though it was considered a dental emergency.

Fantastic experience: Had to make an appointment at Aspen Dental in Dubois, PA for an infection in my tooth and had Therese the Dental Assistant ....what a sweet heart. I was in a lot of pain and really couldn't open my mouth as wide as she needed and she worked with me and only did what I was comfortable with as to not cause me pain...took her time and only did what she felt would be easier on me....She's a keeper ! Dr.Kitchen looks at you while you speak...at your level and was very kind ...very gentle knowing I was in pain and worked out a plan...gave me a prescription for my infection so he can fix me up. The girls in the front are all very kind. If you have anxiety about going to the Dentist its a whole different experience there. Fantastic experience: Wonderful people very polite and friendly my X-ray technician Therese was top notch she is on top of her game excellent service with a smile.

Negative experience: While getting my X-rays done the insert hurt my inner gums 3 different time la causing swelling. I went there for a teeth cleaning and check up and didn’t get cleaned because I needed to pay $1800 for the deep cleaning! I wasted 1.5 hours there and didn’t even have a routine floss and polish! Very upset! WILL NOT RETURN!

Positive experience: First visit to dentist in a long time. Have bad teeth. Feel embarrassed of them of coarse. Feel judged but the dental assistant cayla was good. Didn't make me feel judged the whole time. The only thing I dont like is the feeling of the financial part feeling like a sales woman seeing what she can get she could be a bit smoother.

Negative experience: The staff was super friendly but my problem was not solved. I had a broken tooth on my denture plate. Given the option to have bottom teeth removed and replace top denture and be fitted for a bottom denture. I was told on the phone they could fix the broken tooth the same day. That wasn’t even discussed nor was it done. Only quoted for a procedure that would cost over 5K and that’s after insurance. Unfortunately I left in the same position I was in when I arrived. Broken tooth on my denture plate that is sharp and tears in my eyes. Not sure how a company can advertise they can fix something and basically ignore the original problem. I understand my top plate is older but cosmeticly I just wanted it fixed. Thanks for nothing, at least your staff is super friendly. However your dentist lacks even a slight personality.

Fantastic experience: I was a first time patient at this location and was very pleased with everything. The counter girls welcomed me with nothing but kind gentle words. How ever the dental hygienist stood out to me Hailey did an outstanding job from introducing her self and explaining what she was about to do and then said she would explain to me after she did an exam on my mouth reassuring me I would be ok. What stood out to me about her was after she did what she needed to she sat down in a chair and looked at me to talk to me instead of standing behind ,beside or ABOVE me .. she was very thorough with explaining everything she needed to and made sure I understood. A+++ Hailey !

Fantastic experience: First time to meet the hygienist, Hailey. She was very friendly and polite. Explained things so they were easily understood. Took her time and didn't rush through the appointment. It was a pleasure meeting her and talking with her. I was there for a quick procedure a few days ago and met April C. She has a really fun personality and I enjoyed talking with her before and after I was done.

Negative experience: I had several things wrong that needed to be addressed and made an appointment for December 31st. My main concerns were (1) a crown on one of my back molars had broken off and (2) one tooth on the other side had broken and left just a shell on one side which occasionally would twist a bit causing it to push into my gums, causing pain. The staff was very nice and they took numerous xrays and scans of my teeth. The dentist came in, looked at my teeth and sat down to go over what needed to be done. Imagine my shock when, rather than addressing the two issues I had, I was told that I needed to have at least 6 teeth pulled. I asked him how he expected me to be able to eat once all those teeth were pulled. He just ignored that and told me the hygienist would be in next to check my gum pockets and walked out. The hygienist did her thing and told me that I would need a deep periodontal cleaning and left. The woman who took the xrays came back in and took me to another room where a woman gave me the total cost for everything, which came to over $2800. I told her I couldn't afford that. Her response was that it could be financed. I said that I can't get into a big monthly payment. As it happened, my insurance was going to change as of January first. She said she would wait until the new insurance went into effect and would call me back on January fifth, which she never did. This place is a racket. All they care about is money, money, money. They never did address the two problems that I made the appointment for. STAY AWAY, STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL!

Positive experience: The service was fantastic. The doc and assistant great. The only complaint is the price I paid to have a tooth filled. They don't accept discount cards I think they give a 20% discount but need to give us senior citizens a better price.
