We did not see our regular provider, but I was pleased with our experience and how kind both the dentist and hygienist was. This practice is truly amazing and grateful to be established here. Worth the drive!

Fantastic experience: Brought my daughter here for the first time, she had a check up at another office when she was two however they could hardly look in her mouth because she was so scared. I think because of the atmosphere and it being more focused on adults was out of her comfort zone. This office was perfect for her, she was so comfortable, talked everyone’s ear off and was able to complete a whole dentist check up. The dentist and dental assistant made me comfortable as a parent, addressed concerns without any judgment and listened to my concerns as well. We walked out with No cavities and a full cleaning! My son has his appointment soon and I can’t wait to bring him in and see how he does! Highly suggest this place for children’s dental care!!

Negative experience: We’ve decided to transition to a different dental office, and I wanted to share some feedback. Since this is a pediatric practice, I was hoping for a more welcoming, engaging environment that helps create a positive and healthy experience for young children. Unfortunately, our experience with the front desk and overall customer service felt below expectations. The interaction did not feel warm or accommodating, and there wasn’t any effort to engage with my toddler. First impressions really matter, especially in a pediatric setting where comfort and positivity can shape how children feel about dental visits long term.

Negative experience: My oldest son has been a patient here for 12 years and has had great service. However, today's reaction was totally uncalled for. Their policy states they can refuse to reschedule not that they DEFINITELY WILL refuse to reschedule if you miss an appt. My 8 yr old son woke up early this morning with a high fever and vomiting. I'm pretty sure he has the flu, but because I forgot to call them first thing and we didn't show up to his schedule appt for fillings they are now refusing to see him again and refusing to fix his cavities. I understand you have a policy, however life happens and as a single mom to 3 special needs boys it slipped my mind to call the dentist office while cleaning up my child and the vomit all over my house first thing this morning. When I had a chance to call I did call back and tell them what had happened, but was told because I didn't call and the anesthesiologist didn't make the call that my child was sick there was nothing else they could do. That I needed to find a new dentist's office for my son to get care at. I can't believe this is how we are being treated after 12 years of coming here and not missing any appt. Yes my 8yr old is new to your office and that is because your office wouldn't take him until he was 7yrs old, I had been trying to get him in since he was a baby. I am high dissatisfied that a child with a 102 temperature and vomiting doesn't constitute some forgiveness in a "policy" that states "We can refuse to not reschedule" it doesn't say it is definite that they will no longer be able to be seen. I totally understand that we missed the appt, I didn't expect to be cleaning up vomit all over my house and cleaning up my child otherwise I would have had plenty of time to make the call to say he was sick. It's hard enough to find a pediatric dentist that takes their insurance and now it will probably take at least a year to get in anywhere for him to be seen to have the work done that he needs. When I asked to speak to someone higher up I was told they weren't available, I did get a phone call back but couldn't answer, when I called the person back it was the exact same thing that the secretary the first time said, no exceptions to their "policy" if that is the case maybe you should change your policy to actually state "if you miss and appointment or don't cancel with 2 days notice we refuse to see you anymore" because that is exactly what this business is doing, they've already made a choice it isn't case by case. No Dr. would want a child with 102 temperature and active vomiting to come in for dental work that they are supposed to be put under for.

Positive experience: I want to first emphasize on the fact that all the dentists and dental hygienist have been nothing short of amazing…. Great care and compassion and I cannot recommend this dental practice enough! However the reason for 4/5 stars is because of the receptionist that is the most unprofessional person I’ve encountered in a long time. Every single time she is there she is so miserable and while making appointments she acts as if I am bothering her. The other receptionist that used to be there was AMAZING and so so friendly. I’m sorry but she’s got to have more kindness especially as a receptionist at a pediatric dentist. It’s alarming when my child notices that she wasn’t very nice.

Fantastic experience: This visit could not have gone better for our son! During the consultation, the dentist spoke with our eight-year-old who was fearful of dental work after a very painful procedure at another dentist in the past. She spoke in a way that was calming and informative. She involved him in the plan. He verbalized feeling comfortable with her and the office. Procedure day went fantastically! She was honest with him about what might feel a little uncomfortable, and there was a good plan to take a break if he needed one. I was convinced that he would not be able to have restorative work without actual sedation, but he was able to undergo the work with a little nitrous and lots of comfort and care from the staff. He was so proud to come home and explain that he had gotten through his procedure. I think this may have restored his trust in dentists. Thank you for being excellent at your jobs and providing this mom, dad, and especially our son with the best experience imaginable! We will be coming here for any additional restorative work for our son.

Fantastic experience: The staff here were so kind and patient when explaining everything to us. Bring a stuffed animal with teeth - they break out a comically large tooth brush for your kiddo to help brush with! Very reasonable rates for self-pay, and estimates provided before you even arrive for full transparency. Great experience!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many dentists over the years with my 5 kids, and I have to say, this has been THE best experience ever. The dentist we saw was so kind and patient and open to multiple treatment options for our son. Everyone in the office was so pleasant to both of us. I love this place. 10/10 recommend.

Negative experience: I was disappointed with our visit. The receptionists, a job I usually have a lot of grace for, were surprisingly unfriendly and didn’t acknowledge my child and barely looked up to say hi to me, which felt especially off for a pediatric office. The dentist and hygienist were nice to me, and great in that department. But they barely interacted with my kiddo, didn’t explain the tools, and moved through everything quite quickly. Which I get is important to push through the uncomfortable but I just thought there would be more of an intro or a distraction at a kids spot. Felt like some kid 101 was missed. Overall, I didn’t see much that made this a kid-focused practice. It might be better suited for older kids or teens rather than young children experiencing their first visit.

Positive experience: One receptionist was so nice, friendly and helpful. The other, not so much. Hygienist was cool, the dentist was wonderful..happy and going to return!

Fantastic experience: Well, we have been at this dentist for a few years now and to say we happy would be an understatement. The hygienist crew is very attentive and kind. Our kids feel comfortable and cared for! We have some good brushing skills too but they always able to help us with little suggestions and ways to improve with education! Fantastic experience: I called Just for Kids- Windham looking to get my 2 yo in as a new patient. We had an appt within one week! They were thorough and great with our toddler. He looks forward to going again!

Negative experience: told me they wouldn’t schedule my kid over 25 dollar bill that went unpaid when i called to pay the bill and reschedule they told me they’d take my money but that child was unable to be seen there anymore… over 25 dollars… crazy work i hear they over diagnose cavities anyways to get more money.

Positive experience: They’re great with my child but unfortunately they are out of network and charge more than my insurance will cover so we are going to be going elsewhere.

Positive experience: My daughter has been a patient at JFK since she was 3, and she’s now almost 6. We’ve always had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lawson and truly appreciate the care she provides. My daughter started Kindergarten on the day she was scheduled for an appointment. Her father scheduled the appointment for after school but didn’t leave enough time for the drive, as we live about 45 minutes away. I didn’t want to pull her from school on her first day, so we had to reschedule on short notice. I completely understand that this was our mistake. This was the first time in three years that I’ve ever had to cancel or reschedule last-minute. Unfortunately, the receptionist I spoke with was quite dismissive and told me that without two days’ notice, we wouldn’t be able to reschedule. As someone who works in healthcare myself, I understand the challenges cancellations can cause—but I was surprised by the attitude I received. I tried to explain the situation kindly, but was laughed at, and later received a written notice about the cancellation policy over a month afterward. Given our long history with this practice and consistent attendance, I couldn’t help but feel that the notice was unnecessary and perhaps a bit personal. I had even asked about transferring to the Scarborough location, as it’s closer to home, but was told that Dr. Lawson doesn’t share her patients. While I’m disappointed by how this situation was handled, I truly appreciate the care Dr. Lawson has given my daughter over the years. To make things easier for our family, I’ll be seeking care a little closer to home, but I wish your team all the best. Hopefully, some kindness and understanding can be extended to other families who may find themselves in similar situations—it really does make a lasting impression.

Fantastic experience: Hands-down, I have over 30 years of experience with just for kids as I was one of their patients when I was younger and now I have both of my boys there. they’ve been seeing them since they were very little, they are the only dentist that both of my boys have ever known they’re so caring and thoughtful And they make you comfortable and fully go through Everything they are doing. All the staff members are helpful and kind. I Definitely recommend just for kids!

He has never let a dentist look in his mouth or clean his teeth. Today both of those were accomplished. Thank you for being patient and kind to my son and for making this a great visit!

My daughter felt very comfortable and was happy to be there, she loves the fairy garden pictures and also thought the bathroom was beautiful (and fancy.)

Negative experience: Receptionist was always rude. 2 hour reminder my booty. Try 20 minutes and the last one was 2½ weeks ago. Do these people not realize how much goes on in 2 weeks. So my brain is supposed to remember that reminder that was received 14 to 16 days prior. Be real. Turns out a blessing in deguise to be going somewhere else with my kiddo. Already made an appointment somewhere else and they were also disappointed in how just for kids handles missed appointments. Not to mention their clients. Treat people better. Be more understanding. BE better 'just for kids'

Fantastic experience: We have been seeing the ladies at JFK in the Windham location since 2022 and cannot say enough good things about this office. The ladies at the front desk are extremely friendly (in person as well as on the phone). My children feel very comfortable around Dr. Veena and her assistants (big shout out to Jessie!) It never feels like a chore to go to the dentist, in fact, I think my kids cheer when they know their appointments are approaching. Keep up the good work JFK Windham!

Fantastic experience: The staff and hygienists that work there are absolutely fabulous for my daughter who has selective mutism and is hesitant to speak sound unknown people. She is made to feel comfortable throughout the entire process and is able to use her “brave voice” due to the caring and empathetic staff who help make her feel comfortable. She does not dread the dentist like other social interactions and we could not thank the great staff and hygienists at Just For Kids for the great work they do.

Fantastic experience: We have had multiple appointments here and each one, especially today was absolutely amazing! Dental assistant: johorey, and Dr.Haught are absolutely incredible women. Today my daughter was super uneasy and nervous and they went above and beyond to make her comfortable! Not only do they let your child watch a movie, cover them with a soft blanket, let them have a cute tooth holder to take home to put under their pillow they also let your child pick a prize at the end! Their waiting room is super clean and has a nice area for kids to draw and color, as well as build with wooden blocks and flower legos. Or pick a book to read! At their front dest the women to check you in and out are super nice and welcoming. They also have a jar where you guess the amount of the item in it for a chance to win sea dog tickets!! They absolutely accommodate to the specific needs of your child. I would definitely recommend bringing your children here!

Fantastic experience: I needed a kid friendly place to bring my two kids, ages 2 and 4 to the dentist. They are amazing! Kid friendly and they are great, even with squirmy kids. Highly recommend going to Just For Kids. We go to the windham location. Will be going there for a while for my kiddos!

Fantastic experience: providers for my daughter’s age (6yrs) are scarce in Maine and she’s (understandably) nervous about the dentist. Just for Kids was so wonderful! They were gentle and explained everything to me and my child in an appropriate and welcoming way. We’re so excited to have been connected with them!

The dentist and dental assistants were so understanding when it came to my daughter being nervous and they made sure she was doing okay every few minutes and explained in detail everything they did so she knew she was safe and it wouldn’t hurt. She was so nervous she would feel the numbing needle and when they did it she didn’t even flinch didn’t even know it happened. 11/10 job WELL done.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Haught has done 2 procedures on my son that our family dentist could not do. She removed a baby tooth and replaced it with a spacer and did some fillings. She is professional and thorough. We have had no complications with either procedure. I highly recommend her for more complicated dental issues your child has.

Negative experience: This office would not accept my autistic son who has an active cavity due to a serious family emergency and I had to cancel with a 24 hour notice instead of 48 hours. My son is now blacklisted from their office (word for word). I now have no where to go. I have called everywhere and no one is taking new patients with mainecare. There are no second chances for these ruthless people. Never have I heard of an office having to receive a 48 hour notice. It is usually 24. They did not want to reason with me at all while I was crying hysterically on the phone with them. They are heartless and don’t care about a thing except getting that check for their office. I was appalled by the customer service and when I asked to speak with an actual doctor, they told me “they don’t take phone calls. This is as far as it goes”. They had no sympathy, compassion or empathy for my son and I. I wouldn’t wish for any families to go here.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was of course a bit nervous when we arrived. As soon as we got through door it was a calm and inviting atmosphere. There were many children's books to pick from and she got started on one right away while sitting in the bean bag chair in their little reading nook. Once we were escorted out back and she sat in the chair there was a TV and she was asked if she wanted to watch Disney + while we waited. The employees were very warm, polite, and professional and made my daughter feel comfortable. I highly recommend Just For Kids to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!

Fantastic experience: I started bringing my daughter to Just For Kids Windham years ago. My daughter is super anxious and nervous about dental offices. We tried the kid dental offices in Lewiston/auburn. And even brought her to my dental office . No one had good bed side manner when it came to a small child who’s nervous. That was until we went to Just for Kids Windham. The drive is 45 mins to an hour for us but well worth it. They make my daughter feel comfortable and explain everything they will do and while they are doing it. Even with dental terminology, I am unsure what some things mean. Our Dentist explained thoroughly without making me feel stupid for not knowing. I wish I could go there for dental services ! Worth the drive, they are quick and they care. 10/10

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Just for Kids Dental in Windham! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The office is beautifully decorated with nature prints, creating a calm and relaxing environment for children of any age. The staff are truly exceptional, especially the dental hygienists, with Sarah standing out for her kindness, efficiency, and ability to connect with kids. She knows exactly how to make the experience comfortable and fun for young patients. Dr. Haught is an incredible dentist, bringing both expertise and a gentle, caring touch to every visit. The receptionists also deserve a special mention—they go above and beyond to make your child feel special, with one even sharing their desk treasures with my raccoon-loving child! After a dental experience in a different practice that left my kiddo in tears, Just for Kids Dental is such breath of fresh air.

Fantastic experience: Amazing practice with amazing people. They explain everything very well and definitely interact with the kids so they understand too. I drove two hours to this location and I’d continue doing it for the experience we had.

Negative experience: It took over 6 months to schedule a sedation appointment. When I called to check on the status of the appointment they told me they had scheduled an appointment and gave me the date without asking if that worked for us. They also changed the location of his original dentist from Scarborough to Windham without discussion. They were not able to answer questions about the upcoming appointment regarding if we would be able to go back with our kid, we were given multiple numbers to call. Regarding payment for services this was also difficult and confusing. The dentist completing the procedure did not introduce themselves before the procedure. Before the procedure we were assured they would not talk to him about the details of the procedure. Before the procedure the anesthesiologist came out and proceeded to give full details of the event to a super anxious kid including specifics about needles thst we asked not be brought up. These requests we made as parents were completely disregarded. They did not tell us how long the procedure would be. There was only a few minutes of transition. They immediately put the mask on him for anesthesia while he was fighting crying and resisting. It was not kid friendly at all. They didn't even give him an option to watch TV or his tablet. I poked my head back to ask how it was going after 30 minutes since we were not provided any details of time and no one was at the front desk. They came out later and asked me not to pop my head back in again. I told them we were not given any reassurance thst he was doing well and they dismissed it. Overall I am angry at myself for going through with this dentist office after every step of the way was miscommunication and difficulty. The way they were hasty with the anesthesia and did not actually listen to our requests made me sick to my stomach. I would not reccomend this place if you have an anxious kid and would like respect and predictability for your child.

Fantastic experience: Every visit my kids have had over the past few years have been nothing but great. Everyone is so friendly and always smiling. They have a great area for the kids to play / color while they're waiting to be seen. Everything in the treatment rooms/areas are proportionate to kids so it's less scary. And our 6 year old loves being able to watch Disney on the ceiling TV during her appointment. They always text if they have openings to see if we want to schedule sooner than already planned and that is truly great for a busy family like us!

She was really scared and wouldn’t let anyone clean her teeth at last dentist in Falmouth ( 5) she absolutely loved everyone here and made her feel comfortable. They were able to clean her teeth and she told me she can’t wait to come back to see the girls!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I are very grateful for the staff in Windham. On top of our regularly visits we’ve had with our three kids, we had an emergent situation with our 2 year old and the office was able to get us in quickly to be seen. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating . We required a an additional visit and they worked diligently to make sure we could be seen first thing the following morning. They were very patient with us and we felt very supported the entire time.

Negative experience: They must offer better service to other people! First appointment for my son they had no record and we had to wait. After that they never sent any kind of appointment reminders even though the appointments were about 2 months into the future. NEVER had a dentist or doctor not do reminders. As an overworked and overwhelmed parent I need appointment reminders. I have almost no childcare and they told me I absolutely could not have my older child in the treatment room with my son. This made it extremely difficult to make any appointments. Overall I find Just For Kids to be hostile to parents needs. Have no idea whey they have such rave reviews.

Fantastic experience: This was our second time at Just for Kids and I HIGHLY recommend! The waiting room is great to keep them entertained and the staff is always so nice. Our dental hygienist, Jessie, was amazing with my 2.5 year old and not only made her feel so comfortable, but she made the experience fun!

Fantastic experience: Both of my boys go here for cleaning and everything dental. We switched from another dentist who completely missed a small cavity starting between my youngest son's teeth. I could not be happier with their professionalism, service, and all around knowledge. I only hope they can find dentists this good once they grow and if they ever move away.

Fantastic experience: After trying a few other pediatric dentists in the region, we’ve loved our experience over the last few years at Just for Kids! Everyone is friendly and efficient and positive and my kids actually enjoy going there!

Negative experience: Terrible service here. Absolutely worst you can get. Especially if you ask to speak to someone hire than Shannon and she tells you no. They threaten you and force you to go to appointments or they'll call the state. Worst dentist office in the state of maine
