Fantastic experience: I had 3 appointments with Dr. Diane Amberg I recommend her highly! She did a wonderful job on my cap and fixed a front filling beautiful. She told me everything I needed to know- I asked questions and they were answered fully. While being in the chair I felt confident with no worries and the outcome was terrific! I’m very happy with my smile! Will always go back and see Dr Amberg- I left the office feeling great! Thank you so much Dr Amberg!

Negative experience: Two reviews and two photos Just now New My daughter had an appointment scheduled for 3:15 PM, but we arrived early and it is now 4:00 PM. Despite our early arrival, we have not seen her. The staff should be honest and not allow us to wait here for two hours. I inquired with the front desk about her next appointment, and she informed me that she would be next. However, I have seen the staff calling people, but they have not called my daughter. This is unacceptable service.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Brown is the absolute best! My son has autism and I was very anxious about how the appointment would go but she is the kindest and most patient child provider I have ever met! I was initially upset about the wait but honestly she was worth it!

Negative experience: Pediatric dentist was an hour late for my 5 year old child's appointment.

Negative experience: Absolutely barbaric, i was in severe pain a very dangerous infection and they put the needle into the infection itself, screaming like I was in the movie "hostel" I was the chained victim, he said sorry the room w. Nitric that would help a great wasnt available that day, ive had work done in my life and never was i tortured . When I got home, the pain was so unbearable I had to call 911...the dr before I left in office he completely dismissed me, the receptionist pretty much said you can go, I couldn't what just transpired, walking out other patients asked me was thst you screaming, I said. 2 people were like im out of here. If they can do whatever they did to hear you screaming and they did nothing to help u...I said u got...they at 1st were gonna give me laughing gas or whatever its called they said that room isnt available...I literally had to go to the ER. I dont want to see exaggerating but the pain i was in I never experienced....dont believe some of the positive reviews. I heard their friends or family giving them. If u don't want to be the star in ""Hostel"" that is tortured please dont go in the torture rooms

Fantastic experience: dr brown is the most kind hearted, sweet, patient & compassionate provider i have ever met. so great with my kids who are scared of dentists!

Fantastic experience: I love those girls. They're all very sweet professional. You should give them at least $100 more a week in their paycheck.

Negative experience: Staff and Doctors are nice, however the office always over books appointments which results in sitting there for longer than necessary. It always happens. This time I've been sitting here with my son for close to 2 hours so he can get a filling, the last time we were here for a teeth cleaning it took about 2 hours as well before being seen. Probably going to seek out a new dentist office for my kid.

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could. We have experienced back to back cancellations for my four boys on appointments that were scheduled over six months ago. My husband has had to take off work twice, only to have both appointments canceled. I also had to keep my kids home from school for their last appointment, which was the one that was originally canceled just 30 minutes before we were supposed to be seen. After that cancellation, they rescheduled only one of my four children for later that week, and we still ended up waiting 40 minutes in the waiting room. We were rescheduled again for 2/24, and upon arrival the elevator was not working. On top of that, no one answered the door or the phones all morning. This has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional, especially when families are rearranging work schedules, pulling children from school, and waiting months for appointments. We will not be returning to this practice.

Fantastic experience: Diagnosing and resolving a broken tooth emergency with a new cap was handled expeditiously and professionally. The full Team of Dentists and Specialists were top notch and personable. Dare I say, a pleasure…

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bryan and the entire staff at Family Dental is honestly a TRUE representation of thier name. "Family" Not only does the staff treat you as such , they do a wonderful job working together as one to get the job done. They are amazing. Dr. Bryan is a caring, talented , intelligent man who takes the time to explain everything to you. Not only did he help put a smile back on my face by willing to attempt what I thought would be an impossible feat, he assured me he will do everything to keep me smiling and actually feeling GOOD about my smile. Thank you Family Dental!! I value you all and appreciate all that you do! Keep being amazing!!! I would definitely reccomend them to anyone looking for a good team who cares for the patient.

Negative experience: Do not go here, went recently to get a filing done and i had to go back, twice, to get my bite adjusted because they screwed it up. I was in pain for 2 weeks because they didnt want to see me, their reasoning? Because they wanted to see if my bite was adjusting properly

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal today Dr. Bryan and staff were great. I was late because of holiday traffic and they were gracious. Awesome staff!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brown is absolutely amazing with children and explaining things to parents. The way she talked to my son during his cleaning today to ease his anxiety makes her phenomenal. I’m not sure who was working with her today, maybe an assistant? Really wish I knew her name for this. She worked on getting my son’s xrays prior to his cleaning and she was so good with him as well. I drive almost 40 minutes just to make sure they get this type of care and I will continue to do so. They make it completely worth it.

Fantastic experience: My experience with doctors David was very nice , from the front desk women to the lady who brought my girls inn are very nice people, But l will correct this, they should Minimize or adjust how they schedule too much people at the same time, waiting to long. And they need house keeper in that building .

Negative experience: I do not recommend MFD. Although Dr. Elliott is friendly and personable, all of the adjustments on my child's braces caused a fracture in the tooth root, below the gum line. Trying to get someone from the office or Dr. Elliott to call me back about this has been fruitless. I paid thousands of dollars to have the tooth removed and still have to pay thousands for an implant to be put in. They don’t take responsibility for their actions and I question why the Board of Dentistry allows them to operate still. A teenager shouldn't have to get an implant, but negligence caused it. I had an issue with a "leaky" filling. Dr. DeMilt didn't put it in his notes, so I wasn't scheduled for a follow-up to treat it according to front office staff. I had to get a root canal and almost lost the tooth. Dr. Jury was going to check on this and get back to me, but nothing came of it as he never contacted me. Then they tried to bill me monthly for some concierge plan that I never signed up for. Ridiculous. Despite having insurance, it has cost me thousands due to negligence. Do yourself a favor and go to another practice.

Negative experience: Been sitting at appointment for an hour and 20 minutes. Watched numerous other patients get called back. Pulled my 13 year old daughter out of school for a routine checkup and cleaning. We have other options so will not be back here.

Fantastic experience: 2 out of 3 daughters needed braces. Dr Elliott phenomenal ! He has such a great bedside manner he really cares for his patients. And i love talking to him about The Dead

Fantastic experience: It’s rare to find the perfect “triage” in a medical/dental practice nowadays. Here, the staff, the nurse and the doctor were simply awesome. One point that reminded me of my late father, a dentist himself: Doctor Amberg did the cleaning herself! I’d recommend this practice in a heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: My children have been going here for years and just recently I began getting treatment. The office staff are helpful. The dental assistants are very kind and friendly. The hygienist is so thorough, easy to talk to and a full of useful tooth care tips. The dentist is also easy to talk to and knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time. They make an appointment for 8am and you wait at least an hour before you are seen. Just completely ridiculous. Make sure you carve out 3 hours for a cleaning.

Negative experience: We do think Dr Brown was excellent BUT the staff unfortunately are among the worst we have encountered. So uninformed and difficult beyond grasp. Pretty sad. Will glady find a new practice.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brown and her assistant Dina were so kind and gentle with my 4 year old, who needed a significant amount of work done. They were patient and made her feel calm and comfortable, while delivering the best care for her situation. I can’t thank them enough! I regret not bringing my children to this office sooner.

Negative experience: Do not come here if you value your time because this office does not. Three times I have come to this office and not seen a doctor. The first time I waited an hour before they finally told me the doctors are too busy with a procedure and to come back. The second time my 3 year old waited nearly an hour to see the doctor and we just couldn't wait any longer. And then I get there 5 minutes to my appt at 9am not a single person in the waiting room. Wait 10 minutes to be brought back, additionally wait my xrays to start and then as the hygienist comes in and finally starts to look in my mouth the say "so there is no doctor here today". In August I came in to get 2 cavities filled and was told they may only have time to do one today and when I was upsrt over it they finally agreed to do both. It's not easy for me to get to these appointments. I have two little kids who are not in school and works nights. Not only could they have called to tell me this prior to me arriving at the office they could have told me when I checked in, or when they called my name to come back, or when they sat me in the chair. Not 25 minutes after I walked through the door and certainly not after submitting me through radiation while breastfeeding and I can't find the time in my schedule to get back here for nearly 1 month. They are inconsiderate to their patients.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Manahawkin Family Dental. I underwent cosmetic dental work at your office, expecting quality care and professional service. However, the results were unsatisfactory, and I was shocked to learn that your office does not guarantee its work. After experiencing issues with the procedure, I attempted to contact your office multiple times to have the work repaired or to discuss a resolution. Unfortunately, I was met with delays, unreturned calls, and a continuous runaround. The lack of communication and unwillingness to address the problem forced me to take legal action through small claims court. It is unacceptable for a dental practice, especially one offering cosmetic procedures, to refuse accountability for its work. I would not recommend your office to anyone seeking reliable dental care. I am requesting an immediate resolution to this matter, including a full refund for the faulty work performed

Negative experience: We bought dentures from family dental they broke within two days. They charge us an extra $65 to repair them and they broke again. We reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Did you not answer the complaints so now we have to take them to small claims court What’s $615 for a refund stay far away from these people what a horrible company they are they have an operating with the Better Business Bureau which I will post a photo of

Fantastic experience: If I could give negative stars . .I would! Don't go there if you have ANY SORT OF A HEART PROBLEM! Cause they will only clean your teeth! I said I have a heart murmer and a little tiny hole in my heart... and they said that's fine. I said ..."it's okay to do work on me...if I took my antibiotics " they were fine with that over the phone. On Wednesday I made the appointment.. I have a really bad abcess... I went to my new dentist..they didn't even want to do x-rays on me cause I told them about my tube's(shunts) in my brain ...but it wouldn't be affected. I think She didn't really believe me... I'm sure...but they proceeded...finally... And then she cleaned my teeth...also aggressive aggravated the heck out of my abscessed tooth...and sent me to another dentist office...so now ...including those 2 other days that I was in pain...i had to wait over the weekend...now I am still waiting for a new dentist to take me.. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble keeping things out...that's what I get for stating the truth...having to go THE 2 DAYS...THEN GETTING NOTHING...THEN HAVING TO GO THRU ALL THIS...JUST TO FIND OUT...THEY ARE ONLY GONNA CLEAN MY TEETH!!!!

Negative experience: Can I give less than a star, they've billed us for years for work we paid for on date of service. Crooks. We've told them this and the reply is our billing is handled by outside service, so has my family's dental needs ever since.

Fantastic experience: Definitely the best dentist I’ve been to over the years. Read some complaints about long waits but that’s any Dr’s office plus no one can please everybody. I had a major issue that required an extraction which can be very stressful especially with just a local which went super smoothly. Him and his staff are amazing, no wonder you have to wait awhile to get an appt.

Negative experience: The WORST dentist for children. Our September appointment got reschedule to today (April) only to be told they won’t see my child or clean their teeth today because he can’t sit for x-rays and NO PEDIATRIC dentist is there. The whole reason we go there. After endless texts, emails and confirmation calls not one person told us this. I even called to make sure there was a pediatric dentist there because they are only there a few times a month. We missed school and work because NO ONE there bothered to tell pediatric patients the doctor is out on maternity. Their solution to refer you out to sister practices MORE than an hour away from our house with no availability anytime soon. I wish I could give them negative stars. Dr Brown is a great dentist but we will no longer use this practice because of the horrible customer service and staff otherwise.

Negative experience: Two hours before we even saw the dentist… She had multiple appointments booked for the same time slot and there is only one pediatric dentist. Last time I went I was there for 3 hours.. whoever handles scheduling in this place is absolutely terrible and has no regard for their patients time. Dr brown is a great but even with a great dr poor management makes me never want to come back ever again..

Negative experience: Terrible communications started with trying to get an appointment as new patient and was given à month away then they contactes me to cancel confirmed appointment and pushed to another monte. Not happy and called them to cancel second appointment. Went to another dentist and received an appointment in two days!

Negative experience: My experience with this practice was with my son for a pediatric dentist. I wouldn't recommend this practice for children. They seem to be extremely busy and not able to accommodate appointments in a reasonable amount of time. There also isn't anything 'special' for the children - television for during dental work, colorful atmosphere, toys... In an emergency situation, the office never even returned my message or sent over my son's dental x-rays to our current dentist we were using.

Positive experience: In for a normal cleaning and check up with 2 of the 4 grandkids for my daughter. Check in and time waited was acceptable. I have been here before with others. Love the kid friendly atmosphere! Today, not so. The kids normal dentist, Dr Brown, was not available. So going to request to never have the grandies see this dentist ever again.

Fantastic experience: Just went yesterday for our first time. I can't thank the Doctors and staff more. My young son and I waited no more than 20 min to be called back, Ms. Sandy was amazing, Dr. Diane was super patient and great with the clean, and Dr. Brown was phenomenal. She calmly handled my nervous screaming, thrashing son like a boss, we got answers and advice on what we came for. I'm sure like many others this is the only pediatric dentist in the area that accepted my insurance, the booking was very far out but worth it. Thank you!

Negative experience: Sadly this practice does not have enough dental hygienists to allow you to schedule a checkup sooner than 7 months out. This has been the situation since 2020. The pandemic is over. let's get on with the business of providing quality dental care to patients!! I think it is time I search for a dental practice truly interested in providing excellent customer service

Negative experience: Never answers the phone and when they do they can never help with anything! They are majorly over booked all the time. Even when you actually have an appointment you are waiting an hour plus to be seen. Had a pediatric emergency and was told that the only pediatric Doctor they have will not be in this week. Not professional at all!

Negative experience: We arrived at 4:06 for a 4 pm appointment. We walk in and the elevator won't go to the third floor (where the dentist is) so we take the elevator to the second floor and climb up the stairs. When we arrive that door is locked so we call the dentist's number. A woman answers and we explain the situation, she says "We close the doors at 4:10 because our appointments only have a 10 minute grace period" (which isn't posted anywhere) then she says "I'll check to let you in" she proceeds not to answer the door or turn on the elevator. After a few more minutes of waiting we call the number again and it had been turned to auto answering mode, and wouldn't let us leave a message. We left after that. Very poor customer service! We will not be back!

Negative experience: I waited over an hour for a 2 minute consultation appointment, where they told me the oral surgeon I needed to see is leaving. Every time I have an appointment, no matter if it is the first or last appointment of the day, I end up waiting an hour at least. Previously, I've waited closer to 3 hours. Every time I leave, I am in pain, even if I came in with none. It is clear that nobody here knows what they should be doing, or how to run a business at all. It is a real shame this is the only place that takes my insurance.

Negative experience: DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS OR YOURSELF HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR HOURS AFTER YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. THERE IS ONLY ONE DOCTOR FOR KIDS I ONLY RETURN HERE BECAUSE MY SON LIKES IT BUT ABSOLUTELY NOT. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS ONE PERSON AHEAD OF ME AND WATCHED 5 OR 6 PEOPLE BE CALLED. SO UNCALLED FOR. Wound up being 11 people total who were called in front of me They literally booked two people for 11:00 with Dr brown- me and the lady next to me and the lady was waiting there for an hour already after being put in a room.

Fantastic experience: I just left this office. I took my 3 granddaughters there. I would recommend this place to everyone. The office staff, the hygienists and Dr. Brown are extremely professional, kind and pleasant. I just cannot say enough good things about this place .

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic dentist by the name of Brianna. Went for a deep cleaning and afterwards my teeth look and feel clean. She walked me through preventative care, and even took before/after pictures to see what's going on. She payed particular attention to when the dental probing hurt and I never felt awkward asking for a break

Negative experience: I will never recommend Manahawkin Family Dental to anyone! When Dr Yuri was there he was great, their hygienist was excellent. Now, the office staff is not responsive, I cannot get a straight answer about where Dr Yuri is, trying to get my bill explained is near impossible and when I asked to have my x rays for my wife forwarded to a new dentist it was not done. The patient service and responsiveness of their staff has declined to the lowest level ever. This practice is definitely not one you would want to be part of. Stay away!

Negative experience: They left me in excruciating pain while waiting for a prior authorization for a root canal. Called to find out if it had came thru yet just to find out it was never sent due to their system being down and now they have to MAIL it to insurance and didn’t act like they should overnight it to them!! Dental pain is serious and they have me taking ibuprofen which I’m not even supposed to take due to kidney issues!! Overall I wouldn’t even give them a 1 but had to do others know the treatment they will receive

Negative experience: They cancelled my son’s appointment at-least 2 times in the last 6 months only to offer him an appointment during school hours the day before thanksgiving or 3 months later for after school hours. Seeing how frustrating that this can be for me as the parent who has to keep rearranging my schedule and take time out of work for these cancelled appointments, the staff member made a rude comment and said she can’t be bothered being “yelled” at and hung up on me. There definitely wasn’t any yelling and no care for the patients time. I called back to speak with the office manager and she was no help…another 3 month wait for a cleaning. Save yourself the time and aggravation and do not bother scheduling with this office.

Negative experience: One time I had a male hygienist that did a great job cleaning before the dentist, all the other one times have had a female that didn’t put in any effort, was forgetful, and just pure lazy. Oh yeah and sucks, very rough. If I’m gonna make the time to come to the dentist at least care about your job. Also had multiple appointments cancelled just a few days prior, once for no dentist, another for no hygienist. Always a wait in the waiting room even when I was the first appointment of the day and the only person in the waiting room. I will say the dentist my family has dealt with was great though. Just gonna try another nearby dentist going forward.

Positive experience: Very happy with how much this place has improved over the last few years. You must wear a mask and they follow all health protocols. Wait time can still be up to an hour sometimes, but I haven't had to wait longer than that. Staff is friendly and seems to care about the patients. Dentists rotate so you might get a different one on a different visit but they do their best to schedule you with the same one. Been using this office for over 8 years now and have seen it improve dramatically. Work I ve had done has been long lasting and they've also fixed work that other dentists have done that didn't last as long. Orthodontist has been the same as long as we've been going here. He did great work for our youngest and our youngest liked him quite a bit. Would recommend giving them a try.

Fantastic experience: Just when I thought I was going to actually lose a back tooth, Dr. Yuri and his assistant, Dave SAVED it! Like wow Im so happy. Thank you to all the wonderful staff. My kids and I have the best teeth all thanks to you !

Negative experience: My daughter had a 9am appt and we showed up at 8:50. Finally 10am rolls around and we are still waiting in the waiting room. I asked the front desk how much longer and was told, another 25-30 mins. Are you kidding me? I get some patients take longer than others, but dont overbook that you are making patients wait THAT long. It's ridiculous. I have seen Dr. Yuri for many years myself and Dr. Brown is great with the kids, but the rest of the staff (hygienists, assistants, and front desk), ALL need work. Many are so indifferent or just rude. I used to love it here, but it has gotten so bad, I got my kids medical records and am looking for a new dentist for her. As for myself, they have cancelled appointments over and over again, back to back, not put correct info in or not completed paperwork for insurance to approve procedures multiple times. Needed to get a deep cleaning done after having charting done, made appt for over a month and a half later(earliest avail.), showed up, didnt have anything done because of a loose tooth that she noted previously in the chart. Said I needed to see a periodontist first. Why wasnt I told that to begin with? THEN on top of everything, this office doesn't even have an oral surgeon OR a periodontist! They send me to CAPE May, which is the closest "sister" office with a perio. So needless to say, after all the waiting for both my daughter and myself, the rudeness, going to 3 different offices for 3 different doctors, all the cancelling and anything else I may have forgotten, my family WILL NOT return. I highly recommend no one going back here.
