Negative experience: I had previously left a 5 star review, but due to the front desk worker messing up appointment times, no reminder texts like I was told I would have, and being charged $150 for an appointment i didn't schedule but somehow missed, after showing up for an appointment I HAD scheduled only to be told i didn't have one... I have decided to change my review. After being charged the $150 for missing an appointment I was unaware of... They have decided to put a "sheduling restriction" on my account and I can no longer schedule appointments. Sad That 1 employee can really ruin a great place.
Positive experience: Very nice staff. Will definitely not be back..I said I would be back, but I won't...Fonda is very rude. Was never informed that I would be charged a 75 cancelation fee. Made a payment of 152 that I will not reimbursed due to my cancelation..she got upset when I stated that I will go somewhere else for treatment..for some reason Fonda could never verify my insurance went elsewhere they were able to verify my insurance...not sure if she was having a bad day or what. She was very rude and wouldn't let get a word in by over talking me.
Negative experience: *Please read if you are a human being who is subject to illness.* I wish I would have read the low reviews prior to booking. My child came down with a sore throat the day before the appt. I called as soon as possible, explained the situation, and that I would need to reschedule my appts. The woman on the phone said their would be a $75 fee for each appt cancelled/rescheduled, and no exceptions for sickness. I was shocked. I don't know who decided this policy, but I guess they are never ill. Think twice before booking with this office.
We completely understand that children get sick and unexpected situations happen.
Our cancellation policy is not intended to punish anyone for being ill. It exists because when appointments are cancelled with very little notice, that reserved time often cannot be offered to another patient.
We also want to clarify that this policy is not introduced for the first time when an appointment is cancelled. Before we schedule a new patient, we provide our new-patient paperwork outlining our cancellation policy, including the $75 late-cancellation fee. That policy was provided and acknowledged prior to these appointments being reserved.
We ask for 48 business hours’ notice when changing an appointment, and the policy applies regardless of the reason for the cancellation. We certainly understand that emergencies and illnesses happen, but applying the policy based on which circumstances warrant an exception would make it difficult to administer fairly and consistently.
We’re sorry your child became ill, and we certainly would not want you to bring a sick child into our office. At the same time, we believe it is reasonable to protect the appointment time our practice specifically reserved for your family.
We understand that our policy may not be the right fit for everyone, but we believe in being transparent about it before an appointment is ever scheduled, so every patient can decide whether they are comfortable with our policies before reserving time with our team.
Negative experience: Their website claims they except Medicaid and other insurance plans, but when I called they said they do not accept Medicaid and it would be fully out of pocket.
Kaya, if you are going to leave our practice a public review, we believe it is only fair that the information in that review be honest and accurate.
After seeing your review, we went back and reviewed your phone call with our office. During that conversation, our team clearly explained that we do ACCEPT Medicaid, but we are not in network with every Medicaid plan. Those are two very different things.
In fact, we are one of the few private dental practices in our area that ACCEPTS Medicaid at all. Unfortunately, we do not determine which Medicaid plan someone has, nor can we be in network with every insurance plan available.
When a patient has a plan with which we are not in network, treatment at our office would be paid out of pocket—just as it would be when choosing any healthcare provider outside of an insurance network. Our team explained this to you during your call.
A dental practice not participating with your particular insurance plan is not the same as a practice refusing to ACCEPT Medicaid. Accuracy matters—especially when publicly reviewing a small business. To get online and make us responsible for the insurance you qualify for is laughable and shows your character or lack thereof.
Negative experience: Dr Shipley was super rude not nice at all I will never be back and don’t recommend
When we have to file a police report and have the police sit outside our practice to make sure our employees are protected from the threats that have been made, we are ok that you don’t recommend us.
Negative experience: Really wish I could leave 0 stars and say how I really feel but I'll keep it more professional unlike the billing department when you talk to them. I had an appointment in Aug. of 2025; I was requested to pay "X" amount up front (which was paid using two cards) and an insurance claim was also filed. I had the procedure done THAT DAY and NEVER heard anything again from Cure Dental until 2/17/2026, I received a Thank you for your payment email. OK??? umm what and why? Had to look on all my accounts and finally, we noticed it came off of a card my GIRLFRIEND used on the day of the procedure to help pay half of the upfront cost and the other half out of our bank. was told by the ever so rude woman in billing that "putting cards on file gives them authorization to pay unpaid balances on an account if it goes passed 90 days" IT TOOK THEM almost 200 days to take this payment that they are saying I owed. That card should not have been kept on file, we aren't married and she IS NOT responsible for any bills medical or otherwise that her name is not on. But if it's a "policy" here why aren't more places implementing this kind of policy? She was not notified that charges would be coming off of her card especially over 194 days later (that's over 100 days later than the 90-day policy I was told about, just doesn't make sense). They are not complying with my emails where I have simply asked for copies of any bills they say are on file or any of the 20+ emails they say they have sent me. I have fidelity HSA records showing where my gf paid so much and I have bank statements showing so much was paid by the bank, I even have the insurance copy showing what they billed insurance (BTW even that is a different number than we were told that day). I'm not denying any charges or refusing to pay, I'm simply wanting documents of these bills or emails for my records simply showing what was done, and what was paid, and what insurance was charged and what insurance covered, yet they aren't replying to emails. I have tried calling and started out very respectable talking to billing, but when she is started saying I was lying about the emails saying if I received the thank you for the payment email then I received the other emails and then suddenly brings up our relationship status because morgan used her card (again we're not married and it's simply not her business) This is the most unprofessional treatment I have ever experienced.
Fantastic experience: I’ve had several extractions in my life by some really good dentists, but my experience at cure dental was WAY beyond good. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. The extraction itself was by far the easiest and less painful than any I’ve had before. 5 stars ✨ for sure !
Negative experience: The worst receptionist at this dentist office I have ever spoken to! In severe pain needing an appointment, but today is a holiday and they cannot verify my insurance until tomorrow, which the appointment would not be until tomorrow anyway, I even offered to pay cash and still the girl had an attitude and told me this probably wasn’t the place for me to be seen. Wow way to go customer service for a new patient with Insurance!

Fantastic experience: We had such a great experience with Dr. Shipley and the team at Cure Dental! My daughter, who is 17, has always been a bit anxious about dental visits, but this office made all the difference. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and so attentive to her needs. Dr. Shipley was absolutely wonderful—kind, patient, and clearly experienced in working with teens. They took the time to explain everything to my daughter in a way that made her feel respected and at ease. The atmosphere of the office is calm, clean, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It’s not always easy to find a dentist who connects well with older teens, but this practice truly gets it. My daughter left her appointment feeling confident and well cared for—and that says a lot! Highly recommend to any parent of a teen looking for top-quality dental care in a supportive environment.
Negative experience: And now instead of emailing me back, they’ve posted a personal email message I sent them online for anyone to see. This just reinforced my 1 star review as to why I will not be using their office or recommending them to anyone. Violating people’s privacy is apparently part of their code of conduct. Now that they’ve been called out for invasion of privacy, their comment gets changed to “I don’t know what I’m talking about and going off hearsay”. This is not how a proper business should handle issues that people have with them. I cannot in good conscience support a dentist who treats their patients, or past patients now, in such a horrible manner.
Negative experience: My wife was a patient of Cure Dental but at her last visit she mentioned sensitivity and concerns of her last filling by Dr. Shipley breaking. My wife was discharged without further explanation and recieved a letter stating no further explanation would be given as to why mentioning "trust." Seeing how these negative reviews recieve more explanation than she was offered, here's hoping. Beware, something is off at this business. Notice almost all positive reviews are of "experience" ,"friendliness" , "service." Very few mention "quality of work." Try Cross Trails Response: Thank you for your response. Though it reinforces our initial concerns about a lack of transparency, honesty and trust. All we ask is the reason for dismissal but continue to receive a workaround. This raises concerns as to what Cure Dental may be concealing. Also, this is the best and most timely communication we've recieved regarding this issue. Is this standard Cure practice to communicate such issues with your company online? On Google reviews? This surely takes more time than a courtesy call with an actual reason. Once again, buyer beware

Fantastic experience: In all of my experiences with healthcare, dentists, and any other public services, I have never seen any place genuinely care about human beings as much as the people at Cure care about their patients. They go above and beyond to get to know you and to make you feel cared for. They are kind, understanding, and have made going to the dentist the absolute best it can be. They care about the little things, can always give you cost quotes up front (which are always fair and they work to get a low as possible) and they never pressure you to do anything. I feel honored to be a patient at Cure, and my entire family has switched to them since I started going. They are genuinely some of the most wonderful people I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. I'm so glad I switched to Cure - I don't ever want to go to another dentist!
Negative experience: I had to cancel an appointment 3 days in advance due to my husband having to work suddenly. They were not kind at all. Sent me a weird message a day later saying I could no longer schedule appointments. People have things come up in life & I have plenty of notice to cancel. Rude people!
Fantastic experience: I genuinely can’t recommend Cure Dental enough. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re treated with such kindness and care. It has completely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. Every single person there is warm, patient, and incredibly professional, but what really sets them apart is how comfortable and safe they make you feel. After some not-so-great experiences elsewhere, the difference is night and day. At Cure Dental, they take their time, explain everything clearly, and are so gentle and compassionate throughout the entire visit. You never feel rushed or judged—just supported and cared for. It’s rare to find a dental office where kindness and comfort are clearly just as important as the clinical work, but Cure Dental truly gets it right. I actually look forward to my appointments now!
Fantastic experience: 11/10, Would recommend, they went above and beyond. After not having been to a dentist in 7 years I became terrified of going. This caused my teeth problems to snowball into a constant stress on my mind and pain in my mouth. My previous dentists talked down to me, didn't respect me, it always felt like me being there was an annoyance to them. Dr. Shipley treated me like a person, and when I felt all the tension and fear of the dentist I had built up finally fade away I nearly started crying in his office. This place is so much different than that. Everyone is so nice, the entire process is well thought out to prioritize the clients comfort. They have TVs above the chairs, and give you a hot towel after your done. I cannot overstate how much I recommend this dentist in comparison to their competitors in Cape OR Jackson.

Fantastic experience: Holy Terror! That is what I was feeling as I walked in for my appointment! I knew I had a cavity right on the front tooth, near the gum line. But the xrays showed that I had a second cavity on the next tooth, on the back. Oh no! Double terror! I shared my fear with Dr. Shipley. With that gentle smile, he discussed options. I decided to go with the 'laughing gas.' I had never had it but I trusted him. After a wonderful cleaning, I was moved to another room. His Assistant made me comfortable and explained the process. She applied a topical numbing agent and we waited. Pretty soon, the oxygen was affixed to my nose. Then she said, here comes the good stuff! In, I don't know how long, Dr. Shipley came in. He asked me if I felt that. Felt what? No, it was all good. Doc began to work his magic. I never felt one thing. He gave me numbing injections and, I just lay there, transported to another plane. I have no idea how long he worked on me. All of a sudden, a mirror was given to me to see the Doctor's beautiful craftsmanship. My tooth was beautiful. The white filling blended in so well. There was no sign of the previous decay. The Assistant ran pure oxygen through my tube to help clear the gas. I went out into the lobby and sat for a while. I was presented a soothing apple juice. And when I felt comfortable, I left. Dr. Shipley runs a tight ship. And everyone wears the most beautiful smile. I love it! I am pretty sure I won't experience that same terror ever again. Because now I know that Dr. Shipley will take good care of me!

Dr. Shipley gave me my options and I decided to have it pulled. I was a little nervous since I have never had a tooth pulled but my experience was great. I didn’t feel a thing. All of the staff and so friendly and accommodating. Also they are great with kids! My 5 year old is a patient and they are so good with her! I 100% recommend Cure Dental!

Fantastic experience: I walked in with a loose tooth and a toothache, had never been there before! They quickly worked me in and pulled the tooth without any pain whatsoever. The dentist and the staff were super friendly!!
Fantastic experience: My first experience has been nothing short of amazing! Everyone was so kind, comforting and very knowledgeable. They were eager to help me get my smile back to where I want it and more than willing to work with me financially, which gave me so much hope and gratitude. The atmosphere is very relaxing, you can tell they genuinely care about making the experience as easy going as possible. They also had top of the line equipment that also helped to make the experience a quick and easy process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a Dentist!

Fantastic experience: Cure Dental does a great job making you feel taken care of and comfortable. They offer a variety of items to help ease anxiety as they are aware that the dentist’s office is a stressful environment for a large majority of people. I typically choose a weighted blanket and headphones with access to a Smart TV to help put me at ease. Tia is an excellent hygienist and keeps you informed throughout the cleaning process. Dr. Shipley has a great bedside manner and, though already knowledgeable, is always seeking to learn even more. Cure Dental has gone above and beyond at each of my appointments!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been terrified of going to the dentist for most of my life. I’m talking full blown anxiety attacks and intense dread, which resulted in only going to the dentist when I was in intense pain. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shipley’s for just over a year and I can genuinely say that I look forward to going there. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I’ve never been made to feel ashamed about my teeth there (they need a lot of work). They are giving me a beautiful smile that I’ve wanted for so long.
