Fantastic experience: I absolutely love it here! Staff is amazing. Always a clean facility. The pharmacy hours are convenient. It’s a bit out of the way but I choose to come here for me and my family.

Fantastic experience: Its always good here. I recommend everything but the dentistry here. Its more than terrible. I wish the tribe would look into this dept more. They need to provide some other options than just ripping your teeth out and calling it good. Its terrible. You go there to die for real. My face literally has holes in it from having my teeth ripped out bc no other options. Without any type of pain killer or anything. Promise I would deal with rotting teeth than go back

Fantastic experience: I come here for primary care and dental care for myself and my three children. Brittani rushing is the best pediatrician, and the staff have always gone above and beyond For my family. I recently was seen in the dental clinic and it was the best experience. The staff helped with my three children so that I could receive my dental care and I am so very thankful to be made to feel normal vs being shamed for having my kids there. It made my day. Thank you guys so much!

Negative experience: Lady at the urgent care was busy doing her own thing and I was standing there waiting for some kind of instructions and she looked at me crazy and said can I help you to me it was very rude. you mad cuz u gotta do ur job

Negative experience: I can’t stand this place…. Every single time I go here my husband or I bring my kids here there is always an issue. I am not kidding every single time!!! I normally don’t leave review as I am getting tired of how I had seen them treat others and including my family. I won’t make this seasons of books I am going to tell you about the last time I came in there. December 1st, 2025 After waiting MONTHS like 8 months to get my teeth cleaned. I showed up to my appointment at 7:30am walked in and went to dental. They were still closed. It’s now 7:40ish A woman comes out to tell me that they were just told that they were not opening Until 10 o’clock due to the weather. Then she proceeds to tell me that the cleaning doctor is here, you’re here. I don’t see any problem why they wouldn’t go ahead and see me. So I sit out in the lobby and I waited and I waited this lady didn’t even have the courage to come back and tell me that they weren’t gonna see me and instead another woman came out to tell me that they were not going to see me at this point, I’m infuriated. I made it all the way here. I don’t understand while I’m being punished because y’all don’t have y’all’s stuff together. I had told them I had waited like eight months for this appointment. She said she would get me back on the schedule anyone want to take a guess how long I have to wait…… until April. A year I have been waiting. I call the patient Advocate. Told her my story She said that she called down to the dental to see what she could do about getting me seen and her solution was we will put you on the list if somebody calls in and cancels. This is no way shape or form was my fault… but I am the one that it affects. You guys need to get y’all stuff together. One of the last times a guys was arguing with my about one of my kids not being mine…. I really need for you guys to get your stuff together. If this was me that forgot to call and cancel my appointment or by your policy if you are 10 mins later we won’t see you.. what disciplinary action should y’all receive. Get you stuff TOGETHER!!

Fantastic experience: They have the friendliest staff of any clinic I've ever been to! They care about you, & about everything you need to be taken care of, it's in the building! I love everything about it!

Negative experience: Doctors and Staff great inside this facility, BUT I Strongly Recommend NOT using their Pharmacy. Without fail every single time I come here it takes at least 45-60 minutes for 1 prescription!!!! Tawny, you are super nice, but what the heck is going on in there!?!? Being sick, having my kids with me, THEN yall forgetting me after pulling me up from the drive thru. Ridiculous. Yall can do better!!!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to recognize how valuable Wendy is at the front desk of the dental clinic. She is absolutely wonderful when it comes to filling in canceled appointments, and I truly appreciate how she keeps me in mind for last-minute openings—I’m always happy to take them! Recently, I needed a last-minute appointment with the doctor, and Wendy went above and beyond by calling the general physician and securing a spot that had just opened up due to a cancellation. Her professionalism, respectfulness, and polite manner make every interaction a pleasant one. Wendy is without a doubt a valuable asset to the clinic. Her dedication and efficiency do not go unnoticed.

Fantastic experience: They have nice and friendly staff. Great location with a new addition to the building. Its alot bigger then it looks. I have a dead hip and its along walk to get to some parts of the building. Good thing they have wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs to get you there.

Negative experience: It's good for general upkeep stuff refills flu stuff things like that but not one serious issue I've asked him about has been rectified and I can't get into an appointment to talk to the person in charge I really need help and I'm not getting it at this point I don't know what to do I wish you ever is in charge and reading this if they do to please contact with me I will try to contact you again and make an appointment

Positive experience: I was diagnosed with a TMJ issue by Dr. Whisler last year using just an X-ray, despite the fact that an MRI and CT is needed for an accurate diagnosis. He prescribed a steroid pack, which did not address the underlying problem. It turns out I need surgery, as confirmed by my current maxillofacial surgeon and other specialists I’ve seen since. When I brought up specific concerns, he dismissed them without much consideration, which was frustrating. That said, most of the other providers I've seen at the clinic have been incredibly helpful and professional. I truly appreciate the care I've received from my current healthcare team and many past providers.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience here From start to finish. The front desk staff were very friendly, I got in quickly and saw Heather who is the hygienist. She did an amazing job taking my x-rays, explaining everything on how things work and why. Great job on my cleaning. The Dentist was very thorough with my examination of a damaged tooth and what needs to be done with my teeth in the future. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: I didn't know what to expect. When I arrived I was greeted by the most friendliest receptionist and the hygienist WOW she was very experienced and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She also talked to me while she was working on my teeth to help get my mind off the drilling. I can't say enough about the doctor he was friendly and informative. What great experience.

Fantastic experience: I had lost a filling in one of my molars. It was just beginning to be sensitive while eating or drinking. I was scheduled to consult with a dentist within a couple of day. The Dentist looked at my tooth and said it would be a quick fix. He was able to take care of the filling in the spot! He and his assistant were so kind and amazing. Not to mention efficient! The place was immaculate. I am so happy that Little Axe has the best Dentistry staff and offices.

Fantastic experience: They are always friendly and get me in on time! If they have a cancellation they will call me to try and get me in sooner and Dr. Whistler is the best. He has this technique he uses so that when he has to use a needle you can't even feel it going in. I would recommend the Absentee Shawnee Dental Clinic to anyone who is looking for dental work.

Positive experience: I usually have a good experience coming here but that was not the case this time. I came in at 7:30am to get seen at the Plus Care clinic. I thought they still took walk-ins but I was not able to get seen. A woman named Michelle Broomin, I believe it was. She was in her late 50's to 60's. She was rude, condescending and gave a lot of attitude. I haven't been to Plus Care in awhile and didn't realize I needed an appointment to get seen. She told me since I went to the clinic in the city that they wouldn't be able to see me there unless I made an appointment with a PCP. I understood and was not rude at all. I let her know that I wasn't able to make an appointment. I needed to be seen asap. She seemed very annoyed and when I asked for her name she gave me more attitude and encouraged me to talk to her boss. I waited 10min and couldn't wait any longer because I needed to get seen by someone before I had work. I don't appreciate being talked to like I'm stupid. I really don't think it's appropriate for someone working there to treat patients like that. I would really like to talk to a supervisor and for something to be done about her behavior.

I highly recommend little axe dental clinic, they took such good care of me and paid so much attention to my health conditions and did what was best for me and my condition. Negative experience: I repeatedly tried to get an appointment with Dr. Manning and each time I was told the registration rep would call me back but he never did. so I went to the actual clinic to see if I could talk to someone about getting an actual appointment but the registration guy just had me fill out the registration forms and he said ok we'll call you when we know something. I still to this day have not gotten a call from this clinic. This situation is extremely unprofessional. I'm very disappointed. Do better Absentee Shawnee Tribe Clinic!!

Fantastic experience: What an excellent place to go. I have dealt with numerous departments, and all of the people are nice, and all of the doctors are really good. I’ve horrible health problems various and these people listen, have out of the box thinking, experience, caring, not rushed. They hear you, work with you, provide you more than most doctors ever would or could. Honestly, I feel like I would not be alive if not for some of those people out there. I wish that they could get more and more funding because I know a good majority of us Native are having a really hard time paying for decent healthcare. Going through cancer again and FYI none of these places will treat you if you have HMO or any marketplace insurance seems like. Imagine if we could get all encompassing healthcare at our Native facilities locally. Our own cutting edge cancer centers! Just putting it into the universe. I’m glad to see this place has expanded.

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous when first arriving because unfortunately I haven't been able to afford medical care until I got my tribal information all situated. They eased my anxiety and made me feel extremely comfortable. The staff was very helpful and didn't mind showing me around the building to see the different services offered. The building was very clean, very friendly staff, and security guards at the front door and walking around. All in all I felt very safe and cared for while at my visit. Thank you

Positive experience: I'm updating my review, because I feel it wasn't fair and suffered from recency bias: I agree with someone else's sentiment that it's half and half. Sometimes I have felt really good about my experience here. My PA is very helpful and engaged about my health. I have also had some frustrating moments though, where I questioned the sense of urgency of the administration when my health is at stake. Social medicine has its pros and cons, and the balance of talented staff and the sluggishness of bureaucracy is encapsulated in this clinic.

I thought working 2 jobs, staying busy, along with an online auction site would keep me going. I finally realized i was just existing, whuch is truthfully exhausting. I felt like a nobody. So i made an appt. Jerrel Riggins, who helps me really process stuff and his Admin Tiffany in Shawnee along with Larry, I think a nurse, can't think of her name, Dr V, who retired and Dr Nael all in LA, actually have helped me already. I'm grateful we have these folks in our health system. Thank you guys.
