Negative experience: I don't write bad reviews , but I'll say this I'll never go back or recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Gosselin was great and all the ladies were too. Very friendly and professional!

Fantastic experience: My first time as new patient at this practice. Very clean office, everyone very friendly, and on time. My Hygienist, Desiree, was excellent. Very knowledgeable. Dentist seemed great too, but you don’t spend as much time with the dentist when you have good teeth and no issues. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Zero. Not an organized dental facility. This is the second time I’ve tried this dental practice , only to leave unhelpful and wasted over an hour after spending 45 minutes to make this appointment. Very disappointing

Fantastic experience: I got a crown replaced by Dr. Rogers. I was surprised the procedure was as easy and painless as it was. Normally I get a little nervous at the dentist chair but Asia, Dr. Rogers' assistant was a kind and considerate, she made all the difference in making me feel confident and peaceful about being there. I appreciated Dr. Roger's professionalism and effective delivery.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Riccobene Shallotte yesterday. Amanda was very helpful contacting my insurance company. Dr. Rogers and his assistant, Tara, were very helpful and comforting.

Also, meeting Dr. Patel for the initial appointment was a positive experience. Especially since I am having a crown procedure in a week.

Negative experience: All this place cares about is money. I have been going here the last couple of years and thought I finally found a great dentist in the area. I have never been able to find a good dentist here and I have lived here my whole life. Mikayla is awesome and I am going to miss her cleaning my teeth so much. They replaced my wire retainer on my bottom teeth in April of 2025 because there was a small crack in the middle. A little over a year later, the retainer broke off as I was eating. I am 27 and have had this wire retainer cemented in my mouth since I got my braces off when I was 14 and it has NEVER came off. Ever. Until Riccobene replaced it. I had to pay $300 to get it put on last April and today when I went in to get it repaired they wanted to charge me another $400 because of their error. I have never had this retainer come off and especially not after only a year of having it on. On top of that, I spent all weekend with a bleeding and cut up mouth because of the sharp, exposed wire just cutting my mouth to pieces all weekend. I explained the whole situation to the hygienist and she did not care. It was their error, it was clearly not put on correctly but wanted me to pay another $400 for something they did not do correctly? When I asked if they could just remove the tiny little piece of wire and cement that was left, they wanted to charge me $200. Save yourself the time, effort and money and find another dentist. Do not go here.

Fantastic experience: Riccobene has been my dentist for a number of years. Recently I had a pain in one of my teeth that was progressively getting worse. I walked into their office to see if I could get an early appointment. They made a arrangements to see me within the 2 hours that day. I'd say that's incredible customer service.

Fantastic experience: I've never requested a hygienist until now. She is super thorough and gentle. She's funny and has great stories while she's cleaning my teeth. I try to be her easiest patient by brushing, flossing and using the water pick as she tells me to do. That makes it easier for her and me.

Fantastic experience: I have another dental office 2 minutes from my house. I still drive to Riccobene. Why? They are rock stars. Never had anything but a stellar experience in Shallotte.

Negative experience: Was not told a month ago when I lost filling that scheduled visit was just to be evaluated. Three weeks waiting to see dentist only to be told it was only an evaluation. Seems like there is a lack of Dentists at this location. Very frustrating to go another two weeks before seeing a dentist per my missing filling.

Fantastic experience: I had a really bad tooth infection that started to spread to my jaw and neck. First of all, they accommodated me here at this business. I asked to reschedule my appointment sooner and they found availability for me. When I arrived, the staff greeted me and everyone was super nice. Jenna and Dr. Newkirk especially. They both really went above and beyond for me. At first Dr. Newkirk suggested that I go to the ER but he also understood the dire importance of getting the tooth out now and saw in my face that I had no interest going to the ER. He performed an emergency tooth extraction surgery and did an excellent job with the surgery. I’m very grateful to him and the staff for providing exceptional service.

Fantastic experience: I recently (2ys ago) moved to the area and needed to find a dentist. I chose Riccobene Dentistry in Shalotte,NC and Dr Clayton Roger. I was in need of a couple implants/crowns and was hoping I made the right choice. Fortunately, I did. Dr Rogers has been great. I am very pleased with his work and his general friendliness. He will take time to answer questions and explain whatever you need. I would highly recommend him. The support staff are also very nice and friendly.

Negative experience: Not a family friendly place.they just want your money. They do a lousy job.

I went for a six month cleaning and check up. Both, my hygienist and doctor, were kind and informative without feeling rushed out the door. My teeth and gums felt clean and refreshed afterwards. I am happy I chose them to take care of my teeth in my next chapter in life.

Positive experience: My first appointment, I will be neutral. As usual some things I liked and there some things that I did not liked. Both young ladies that helped me with X-rays and the cleaning were nice and polite, however there was waiting time between, providing the services. As a new patient, I need to seeing lastly by the doctor, waited for 12 minutes the technician came and told me “sorry the doctor is doing a procedure, but he will be with you shorty” ! 10 minutes later technician came back and apologized again reassured me he will becoming shortly, while I pointed out that been waiting for over 20 minutes, please! 24 minutes later another “doctor was found” (not the one that doing the procedure, because the technician explained to her that I needed to seeing by her because the doctor was busy with a procedure) and she needed to finalized, I think, my examination! Look what griping me is the fact I was told nearly 6 times via “messenger” if I miss my appointment will be charged $75 if I did not give 24 hr. notice, Obviously, time and money is valuable to the dental facility, but my time stretched out on a dental chair waiting for 30 minutes has no value to the Dental Associates. Thank you!

Negative experience: I was there for a to replace a small filling in front tooth had come out. My insurance changed 1/1/26 so I notified front desk when I arrived and provided info. They said they would run it through to see about coverage. Once seated in dental chair the assistant told me my insurance coverage had not been verified so how did I want to pay. At the same time she moved computer screen towards me and informed me charges were like $598. I was shocked that here I am in chair waiting for work and I have sign x2 that I understand that payment is expected before leaving. Not to mention the $598 charge for 30 minutes work which is robbery considering. I informed assistant that I thought it was not professional to do this. It should be done at front desk upon arrival not in dental chair. I asked her if i could pay what would happen. Her reply was they would not do the work. Her additional comment was if you go to Walmart you have to pay for your goods before you leave. I did not agree with her comparison. I was prepared to pay when work was done at front desk but expressed my displeasure with what had happened. The girl at front desk told me they would run my insurance and notify me of my part of charges which was the correct decision not in the dental chair. I have been using Riccobene for several years and have always paid however I understand all patients are not the same. I was offended this time for sure. Felt entrapped.

Negative experience: Service has been fine but very disappointed in their billing practices. Recently went in for semi-annual check up and the hygienist said I was due for my panoramic xray, and that she checked my insurance twice to make sure it didn’t cost me anything. ”It’s free, free, free” she said…then I get a bill for $96. When I called the office, the lethargic person on the other end said that I signed a paper saying I was responsible for the bill regardless of what the insurance paid. Ok, now I guess I have to keep my own records of what is done, when it’s done, and check with my insurance carrier to see what will be covered prior to my next visit. I understand people make mistakes but don’t tell me “it’s free, free, free” if it might not be.

Fantastic experience: I called into Riccobene in Shallotte where I usually go because I had concerns that a front tooth filling might be cracked. I was given a same day appt with Dr. Moran. She was very nice and after an X-ray and exam she gave me reassurance that the filling wasn’t cracked, just some normal wear and tear. I really appreciate that they saw me the same day. I’ve always been pleased with my care from this office, all of their staff is very pleasant.

Fantastic experience: My first appointment left me very impressed. My dental hygienist was exceptional! She, with the occasional help from other personnel, seamlessly handled two types of imaging equipment, along with a half-dozen other types of testing equipment, and a full cleaning. They also have much more modern equipment than I've seen at other clinics. Dr. Rodgers was excellent, taking the time to discuss issues I've had on my mind for years. Finally, their communication with me and their coordination with each other was excellent! I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: My first time here. Bright, relacing office and friendly staff. The hygienist, Mikayla was super friendly, very conscientious of my comfort and explained what she was doing, and also gave me options as to how I wanted my cleaning done. Previous dentist told me I would probably need a couple of root canals. This one explained that I have some receding gums and provided education on how to possibly correct the issue. Definitely my new dentist!
