I've only ever had three or four fillings in my life and this one was the least stressful and there is no residual pain at all from the work being done. Everyone on the staff -- hygienists, dentists, support staff -- are professional, courteous, caring, and personable. I "almost" don't mind visiting the dentist any more.

But they took their time, explained every step, answered questions when asked, and were as gentle as they could be with me. Still don't like going to a dentist, but NIDG makes it easier for me. Fantastic experience: My appointment went very smooth, and I liked the way I was addressed by my name when telling me something. The doctor and dental hygienist assistant were very professional and made me feel comfortable. Today 5/13/2026 was finalizing the remainder of my appointment treatment. It went really well and quick. I did have an issue with some sensitivity on certain area of a tooth and an x-ray was taken. The only thing, I wish they had told me that there would be a fee for the x-ray, but it was minimum m, so that was great. I would recommend North Idaho Idaho Dental Group because they are great! Dr. Mickelson and April explained everything in detail and gave such great advice. The entire staff is so kind and friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a dental visit!

Fantastic experience: Each person did their job well. It is clean and all personnel are pleasant and easy to talk to. I have been going to them since about 2012 (a different doctor at that time). I see no reason to change. If you are looking for a dentist, give them a try.

Fantastic experience: I have not been taking good care of my teeth due to personal issues and today was my first appointment in years and my first with this dentist. My teeth are not in the best shape. All of the staff were extremely compassionate and kind. They were very thorough and made a great plan for me. I was emotional and cried and the hygienist was very comforting and completely non judgmental. They made efforts without being asked to keep me physically comfortable and answered several questions about my insurance and the out of pocket cost because that was a concern. I will be staying at this dentist for as long as I’m local. Also the office itself was beautiful and clean with a nice view of the golf course. They had high tech equipment and it was a very comfortable visit in that respect.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Clark is a wonderful doctor. I went in for a cleaning and she saw my tooth was chipped. She asked if I had time to have it fixed today and I said "yes" Dr Clark fixed the chip that day and it didn't even hurt. ❤️To Dr Clark

Fantastic experience: The staff was great! Very friendly and a comfortable atmosphere. I was just in for a routine cleaning and I feel they did a great job. I also want to add just a week after my first appointment, I received a card in the mail from them with a Starbucks gift card. The note said to "Have a treat on us". I thought that was very sweet and considerate! What a wonderful crew!

Fantastic experience: I hadn‘t been to the dentist in 3 years and I have had gum disease for many years, so I was especially anxious. Cori (sp?) did an excellent job explaining everything as she performed a deep cleaning and it was one of the least painful experiences I‘ve ever had. Dr. Mickelson is awesome, too, he prepped my first of many crowns to come and that, too, was painless, which equates to being a pleasant experience, in my book. I‘m so glad to have had a friend recommend this dentist’s office, I won‘t be as anxious going to the dentist now. ☺️

Negative experience: One person at the front desk quoted me a price for my treatment plan, then a year later I brought back the paper because i had not had the dental work done yet, and she says, “sorry I don’t know where I got those numbers from and I can’t honor those.” So then two more visits later the price after my insurance almost tripled. I was seen there today and the hygienist cleaning my teeth said ya that lady no longer works here. Other than that experience I have been going there for a lot of years and I absolutely recommended Dr. Clark

Negative experience: This use to be the best dental practice in the area. However, the damage Dr. Clark did to my husband's mouth, tongue, and throat is now permanent. We were told to ignore the pain, numbness, and difficulty in swallowing because the nerve and tissue damage would resolve in a few months. It's been 5 months and our MD confirms the damage from a failed injection and tooth removal is unlikely to improve.

Fantastic experience: After spending a decade in Austin, Texas, feeling like we were getting nickel and dimed for unnecessary dental work performed by mediocre dental “professionals”, it is so refreshing to be cared for by real professionals, like those at the NIDC Ponderay office. We feel like they truly care about us and our health, and they are very friendly and caring. Our Austin dentist told my wife she would need four crowns. NIDC looked at her teeth and recommended four filling replacements, the total cost of which will be less than that of one crown in Texas. We cannot recommend NIDC highly enough.

My profession was in Patient Experience therefore, it is important to me on how people are treated from the first interaction on the phone, the front desk and throughout the visit. Nicki the front desk person was welcoming, friendly and informative. She provided us with the information we needed with a smile. I had Corey (sp?) as my dental hygienist and she was awesome. I appreciated her attitude, (friendly) and professionalism, communicating her care step by step. Dr. Clark was awesome, friendly and professional. Not the most enjoyable, but they did everything they could to make me comfortable and relaxed. They completed the work quickly, but still to a high standard, ensuring perfection in my crown. I'm thrilled to have NIDG as my dentist! UPDATE: NIDG has been my dental provider for over 2 years now, their commitment to quality of service and kindness is unmatched. I recently had to get a root canal done, I was admittedly anxious, but Dr. Mickelson took care of it with his congenial nature and exceptional skill. I'm really grateful to have found such amazing care. You couldn't hope to find a dentist as good as mine!

Fantastic experience: As a person with pretty severe dental anxiety, I will say I love this practice. My first time in was for an urgent matter that resulted in a referral to a surgeon. Not only did they refer to a great oral surgeon, but they coordinated with the m to set a time that worked for me. Great experience. Since then I have been in twice. Once for a compressive dental evaluation, where they were able to squeeze me in for a procedure. I was back again for some fillings. The team was so kind and patient with me, made sure I was good and numb before starting and gave me breaks as needed. They explained everything to me prior to starting and communicated with me throughout. I have another appt coming up and I am not even that anxious about it. I am glad I found North Idaho Dental Group, or I would likely still be avoiding the dentist.
