Fantastic experience: My husband called and was given next day appointment. Very nice and professional staff from checkin to dental assistant to the dentist. Did complete exam and cleaning and was on my way.

The hygienist was very attentive and informative to my needs. The girls at the front desk were a absolute delight. And I know Dr Oxley is very up to date on many dental treatments and I am so grateful to be his patient. As soon as I got home without saying anything, my husband immediately saw how white my teeth looked! I felt even happier! And so does my mouth.

Fantastic experience: Regular cleaning this visit and everything went well and have another appointment in November . Dr Oxley purchased Dr Rebecca Forest’s practice and location on Trent Road. Because I was a long time patient with Dr Forrest I became a possible patient for Dr Oxley and after that first appointment I decided to stay and he has taken great care of me I highly recommend if you’re looking for a new dentist give Dr Oxley’s office a call to set up an appointment

I recently brought my husband in to have teeth removed, and the dentist was kind, fair, and very thorough—he made us feel completely comfortable throughout the whole process. The office was spotless and had such a calming atmosphere, with beautiful artwork and an essential oil diffuser. They also had a fridge with cold water and juice, which was a really nice touch. Highly recommend!

The dental hygienist Victoria (Tori) is smart, kind, and empathetic. Tori educated me several times on proper dental care tips, and I have now been promoted to 6 month dental care visits due to the tips she and Dr Oxley gave me over the years since it was taken over from Dr. Rebecca Forest. I have had Dr Oxley & team as my dentist since the transition. Dr Oxley is friendly, understanding, and informative on all things dental care and even wants to get to know you as a person outside of dental related needs. One memory that stuck with me is, Dr Oxley showed me his working retro console when I had mentioned I worked at a video game store at the time. He is genuinely a person who cares for his patients and is a good man. Give Dr Oxley & team a chance. I do recommend.

Fantastic experience: Aside from floss fetishists or masochists with insurance, nobody “wants” to go to the dentist. But Dr. Oxley and his staff make each visit feel like a break from life. The office is clean, warm & welcoming, the staff all have great personalities, there’s a sweetheart little pug to pet on, they have the latest dental technology (seriously cool toys) and they offer several “spa” amenities for free!! Grab an espresso, water or maybe an essential oils infused hot towel!!! Dr. Oxley is the exact opposite of the typical physician. He is genuinely personable and easy to talk to, doesn’t rush you out the door, he takes real one-on-one time, explains everything, answers all of our questions (even dumb ones) and treats you like a human, not a chart. Skilled, straightforward, and real. My wife & 3 daughters have been to a couple of prominent “big name” dentist’s in New Bern & Morehead. Dr. Oxley & crew are on a whole other level & there’s just no comparison. I will never go to another dentist in this area and cannot give Dr Oxley anything but my highest recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Having visited Oxley Dental on mulitple occasions, they have always treated me with kindness, professionalism. My only complaint is that since 2024, they have no longer be an "in-network" provider. My out-of-pocket cost has gone up. That said, the quality of work, communication and expertise from Dr.Oxley, the Dental Hygienists and other staff is worth the extra few bucks, IMO. Many thanks to Oxley Dentistry from 'the Clarks'.

Interestingly enough, it’s just as uncommon for me to leave one. As I previously mentioned, I am an extremely friendly person, which is precisely why I am making sure to follow through with this review—because my experience left me not just confused but also genuinely disappointed by the unprofessionalism and contradictory information I received. I do so appreciate your effort to inform other patients about your "out-of-network status" and "the benefits they may receive through their individual plans." That’s truly commendable. What’s even more commendable is how you managed to completely overlook doing the same for me. I wasn’t informed at all, nor did anyone file, resubmit, or follow up on insurance claims to ensure that my benefits were maximized. But it’s nice to know that other patients get that level of service! Now, regarding your response about teeth whitening—let’s clear something up. I had already received a cleaning, X-rays, and other necessary work at my previous dentist before coming to your office. I fully grasp the concept that you "simply cannot treat a stranger without first understanding their dental health." What I don’t appreciate is the fact that I sat there, went through multiple conversations, and made it abundantly clear that the only reason I was leaving my previous dentist was due to my insurance being out-of-network. Plenty of opportunities were available for someone—anyone—to check or say something. And yet, nothing. And while I absolutely love that you’ve now decided that I’m "not the right fit" for your practice, I truly hope you take my feedback as a wake-up call. Any reputable business that genuinely prioritizes high-quality service and patient experience should always be open to learning and improving. Unfortunately, based on both my experience and your response, that doesn’t seem to be the case here.Wishing you the absolute best of luck in figuring that out. Take care!

If I’ve had questions they took their time to answer and made sure I understood everything…I’ve had to call the office a few times since then and Lisa has explained things to me perfect to where I understood, she never makes me feel like I’m bothering her to much. Then with some thought he figured out how and did a great job. This saved me from either a bridge or an implant. A huge help. Thanks. This Dr is up on modern dentistry! Also had my teeth cleaned and that was better than usual too!
