Fantastic experience: Desert Senita Community Health Center is a comprehensive facility that cares about our community of Ajo. Emily Murillo LVN did a fabulous job. She is a great addition to the medical team. How fortunate we are to have fabulous providers like Boriana Nikolova FNP, Tommy Nguyen MD and Dr Herrera who are caring and knowledgeable. The lab, radiology and pharmacy are all terrific. Ajo residents need to appreciate the hard working staff, they now only have two MAs. So Emily MA and Melanie MA plus the front desk ladies will help keep the clinic running smoothly!! Your support is needed to help keep the Ajo Clinic successful in providing all aspects of care for our medical and behavioral health needs.

I recommend Desert Senita for medical and pharmaceutical needs. If they can't meet your needs they will refer you to someone who can. We're fortunate to have them in our community.

She is very knowledgeable and conveys a personal, genuine interest in one's welfare, and with a sense of humor. I've only been seen by her once so far, but am very happy with her and the Desert Senita facility and staff! Nanette is no longer there but Dr. Tommy Nguyen is great.

Fantastic experience: Updating my review since there’s been a big change in leadership and medical staff. This is still an amazingly excellent health center for this remote town and region. Caring and competent staff, including pharmacy. Lots of resources and expertise. Dr Nguyen is pleasant and casual yet highly skilled and knowledgeable.

I saw the physical therapist, brian, yesterday. He's a great guy. He knows his stuff. And he plays great music!! LQQKing 4ward to my next visit with him.

Fantastic experience: DSCHC strives to provide the best health care for Ajo and its neighbors. They do amazing work in an era of shocking federal cutbacks to health care and the ongoing challenges of under-resourced rural areas. Dr. Boriana Nikolova is a smart, talented, caring, nurse practitioner who is gifted at listening to people who come to DSCHC for healing. As an Ajo resident, I'm grateful for the existence of Boriana and the entire staff.

Negative experience: I called the clinic because I felt like my UTI had not been cured by the antibiotics the doctor prescribed because I was still having irritation in my bladder… I talked to the front desk they left a message for the nurse Dorothy She called me back today and was very rude and condescending if I have another UTI I will go to the emergency room at least there they don’t treat you like you’re wasting their time! She literally chewed me out the front desk had to leave me a voicemail about a follow up appointment! I don’t ever want to deal with that woman again.

Fantastic experience: Always making improvements over the last few years. Great nurses, MAs and Drs. Some do not stay long for whatever reasons, but I am pleased with my care and actually appreciate a bit of variety. Saw me late on a Friday & helped me get antibiotics for abscess tooth ASAP. Thankful for a great and caring staff.

Fantastic experience: Called in at 1:30pm for an emergency dental appointment. They had an opening at 4. When I left at 5 there was another patient in the waiting room. How great that it was not "a come back tomorrow" that he heard. Dr Limm was great. She walked me through the X-rays so I got a clear understanding of what was going on. She called in a prescription to the pharmacy a few minutes before closing. Heading home... pills in hand. All will be well. Ajo isn't exactly back of beyond, but to have the health care here that I would have to have had to go to 125 miles to Tucson for is wonderful. It's great these healthcare professionals are committed to the community.

Fantastic experience: Desert Senita Dental was great. After taking my little to a pediatric dentist, there was just too much going on. I appreciated Sara and Dr Lims patience with him. We had a positive experience and will be returning.

However, please bring the PATIENT PORTAL back online to allow us to track our upcoming appointments and past appointments, tests results and so much more!

Fantastic experience: The reception women could acknowledge patients when they come up to desk, just a nod of the head or a wait a moment gesture. But, otherwise the visit was quite enjoyable. From the medical assistant to the NP, my visit was pleasant and thorough. Medications and referrals both taken care of. Looking forward to my next visit.

DR. Boriana Nickilova has been a god send and very accommodating with other patients and i for several years and treats patient with the utmost care! Without them, my closest medical needs would be at a minimum of over a hundred miles away. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about them! Fantastic experience: I went in for my annual wellness check, and some other issues. I was checked in right away, called back to begin the screening almost immediately, and my visit with my nurse practitioner, Nannette Miller, was very pleasant. She explained what score I got on my cognitive test (a good one) and dealt efficiently with my other issues. I am very pleased with her, and I enjoy my office visits with her. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Desert Senita Health Center employee's are courteous and professional. The facility is well maintained inside and out. I highly recommend anyone to consider getting your health care performed by this facility. Dr. Miller was spot on with my diagnosis and is helping me with my further treatments needed for my healthy life going forward.

Fantastic experience: My clinic in Oregon sent a lab request to Desert Senita. I was instructed to visit Desert Senita Community Health Center at my convenience. When I arrived, the receptionist had all that she needed at her fingertips. I waited two minutes to be called in by the lab technician. She drew blood from my arm. I was prepared for "needle pain" but I didn't even feel a prick. I didn't watch; she said that she got what she needed. Hmmm. A lifetime first for all around fantastic service.

Positive experience: For a little town this small clinic has some excellent nurse practitioners and staff. Book appointment ahead if new patient and then you can be seen much faster for subsequent issues. So glad we have a pharmacy so don't have to drive 100 miles. Lab and X-ray & vaccines & PT available too.

She and Dr. Phelps were there for me after each of my babies was born and whenever I’m sick Boriana is genuine in trying to help me. Idk what I’d do without her here. I also love the front desk girls, the pharmacy and medical assistants.

Fantastic experience: I really like my little home town clinic. The staff are all very sweet, the phlebotomist is excellent, Borianna is very knowledgeable and thorough, never makes me feel rushed. Dr Lim in the dental office is terrific - wish I’d had her as my dentist when I was a kid! I’m so grateful we have them all here when we’re so far away from everyone else!

Negative experience: Front desk personnel have zero people skills. Appointment I made a month ago is “not on the books”. No apologies, nothing.

We are so grateful to have such a great state- of-the-art facility. Thank you everyone at Desert Senita Community Clinic!!! And especially for being so courteous. It's a lot of hard work so pat yourselves on the back every day. I am updating by adding that the Dentist and Dental Clinic here is so amazing with quality care & friendliness. Bless them for having a sliding scale program because too many people go without help. I hope someday that medical insurance will realize Dental care is Medical Care! With our healthcare system in this country becoming very poor quality, it's nice to find a place where you are still considered a real person, and feel safe.

Positive experience: Friendly people, not super competent doctors, unfortunately. Edit 9/2025: I am updating this review since things have changed for the better. Dr. Boriana is a gift to the community. She is caring, cheerful, and very competent. Unfortunately, she is now the only doctor there, along with a couple of R.N.s, to take care of the entire town of Ajo. The pharmacy has also improved immensely. The reason I am only giving 4 stars is because of the shortage of doctors for the town. Ajo clinic directors, get on the ball and get some doctors here to help poor Dr. Boriana take care of this community!

Fantastic experience: The staff is great! The atmosphere is calming the Dr's actually listen to you. I like that they are direct and tell me what I need to hear not what I want to hear.
